We stayed for almost one week at Wilson’s Retreat. The location is excellent - if you like to stay away from the busy area and be close to nature/snorkel with beautiful tropical fish and turtles daily. We saw 7 turtles even without going to the turtle point just nearby! Personally I like the beach area in front of our resort better than the turtle point, less people and more colorful coral reefs. We also loved this resort’s commitment to sustainability that’s integrated in details of resort design and facilities. Staff were very friendly and helpful, overall a great experience that we wanna come back one day :)

Food service could have been improved, sometimes we waited for a long time for our orders (very common in Gili island overall). If Wilson would like to stand out further from others, there are still great potential to professionalise its customer service and provide training opportunities to its young staff crew (Bali sets a very good example here in all the hotels/resorts we stayed).

Very nice room, big, with outside bathroom and nice patio. Quiet location at the north side of the island. You don't hear the mosque, nor night clubs. Our room was in the back so also live music from close by restaurants was not disturbing. Walking or biking to other places takes some time but it is a pleasurable experience. If you don't want to come back through the wilder inner part of the island you can go along the coast. Breakfast and the food in the restaurant in general was good. It was possible to eat at the beach which is just in front of the hotel. You can rent bicycles and snorkeling equipment. The bike was 50k for 24h. Although you can see the turtles there the snorkeling was a bit difficult. There is a lot of coral and swimming close to the shore is possible only at high tide. The reef starts a bit further but due to the waves I was not able to get there. Still you can see some nice fish.

The only small drawback was the swimming pool. It was large and deep enough for swimming. The water was not too warm thanks to some shadow of the trees. Unfortunately the water was a bit dirty. The pool is located in the front of the complex, near the restaurant and we saw people bringing drinks there. This seems to be a common pattern on Gili T. I think it contributes to the quality of the water. I would personally prefer the pool to be located in the back.

Absolutely loved everything about our stay here. The location is wonderful for those wanting to be away from the noise and crowds but all of that is still easily accessible on foot or bike. The resort itself is designed so beautifully with all the trees and the beach gorgeous. The snorkelling from the beach is excellent and we saw so many turtles and different types of fish. We stayed in the Juli suite and it was great. Very spacious and comfortable. The day bed was a lovely addition. Breakfast was plentiful and the food at the restaurant was delicious. The staff were ever so kind and attentive. We also loved the cats that live at the hotel 😻 we were there for 8 days and walked a lot around the island. We didn’t see another hotel that looked as welcoming as Wilson’s. We’ll definitely be back to Gili T and we’ll definitely be staying at Wilson’s.

We stayed here for a week and had a wonderful time! We stayed in one of the Julu rooms. Beautiful and comfortable room, but a bit dark. There are a lot of mosquitos, though. Taking a shower, brushing your teeth, or even using the bathroom was quite the challenge. We also never used the lounge area outside because of the mosquitos. Overall, it was really an amazing stay, and we would highly recommend staying here! It's really one of the better places to stay on the island. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and we loved the cats walking around! And if you're lucky, you'll spot some turtles just outside of the resort. We did, and it was so special! No boat tour is needed! The food was also good. We ate here every day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) and enjoyed every meal! The resort is also very quiet. You wake up with the sound of the waves and birds. We would gladly come back and would like to thank the staff again for a wonderful stay!❤️

We recently stayed at Wilson’s Retreat for two nights during our trip to Bali and Gili T and couldn’t have been happier with our experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome with their warm hospitality and attention to detail. The villa was beautifully maintained – private, quiet, and tastefully designed, with a perfect blend of modern comfort and tropical charm. We especially loved the private pool, which was a serene escape after a day of exploring Gili T. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the outdoor bathroom gave it that true Bali touch. Just located opposite from the beach and super close area’s vibrant cafes, Wilson’s Retreat felt like a secluded oasis. It was the perfect place to relax and reconnect. The on-site restaurant offered a surprisingly good selection of food and drinks – we had breakfast there both mornings and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I really like the villa we stayed in (Muri Suites). Spacious, high ceiling, very clean, the bed is comfortable to sleep in and the outdoor shower is a nice touch too. It's very quiet as well. We woke up refreshed every morning. Location is perfect - beach front, quiet and breezy. It's a very relaxing spot in Gili T. Pool and bar - Pool is clean and large enough to swim. Drinks we ordered in the bar were nice. Tha bar staff made a mistake though, they billed us for a drink we didn't consume. So before paying, make sure you double check your bills (they cancelled that drink at the checkout).

booking snorkelling trips through them. Private snorkelling trips didn't happen - First it was cancelled because of the sea condition. It was very windy so the waves are huge and the water is a bit murky, we understood this so we were okay with it. But following day was cancelled again because the boat operator is not available. I was disappointed. It's better to just walk around the port and find operators that will do the trips for you. It's cheaper too. We got some insane GoPro shots with sea turtles too.

The bungalows are spacious and comfortable, with a large and bright main area and a secondary room used as a wardrobe/bathroom anteroom. The open-air bathroom, in true Indonesian style, is one of the highlights of the property, featuring an outdoor shower that makes it particularly charming. Another great advantage is the hotel's private beach, located right in front of the restaurant. It is one of the few beaches in Gili Trawangan with natural shade, thanks to the naupaka trees, which make relaxing even more enjoyable. The beach is peaceful, and the water is crystal clear, perfect for a relaxing swim. I recommend wearing water shoes, as the seabed is coral. A must-do experience is swimming with the turtles, and as you approach the reef drop-off, you can admire plenty of tropical fish. It is certainly one of the best beaches for swimming in Gili Trawangan. Keep in mind that in the afternoon, the tide goes out, but it's still possible to swim by crossing the exposed coral stretch. The restaurant offers tasty dishes at fair prices, perfect for lunch or dinner just a few steps from the sea. The staff were always courteous and helpful, assisting us in organizing a snorkeling tour through one of their partners, which made our stay even more memorable. The hotel is located a bit away from the port area, about a 20-30 minute walk or a 10-minute horse-drawn carriage ride. However, this isolation guarantees unparalleled peace and tranquility, far from the crowds.

We loved our stay in Gili T exclusively because we stayed in Wilson’s Retreat. The island is a party island and not our vibe, but spent our time at this stunning, comfortable resort, in the company of their lovely cats. We had a blissful time. Beautifully decorated, so elegant and comfortable, located in the more quiet side of Gili T, helpful staff, and beautiful trees that provide shade while on the sun beds. Food was good too and we had all the amenities we possibly needed. Absolutely loved our room which was one of the closer ones to the beach - I recommend spending a bit more for these rooms as they really have a different feel.

A beautiful property with direct beach access and a pool. The room was spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped with A/C. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and we loved the (half) outdoor bathroom and our cozy little porch. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Wilson's Retreat is situated in one of the few quieter areas of Gili T, which we really appreciated, especially since it gets quite busy and noisy further west and south. They also offer bike rentals, which is a great way to explore the island. Overall, the value for money was excellent!

There was nothing to dislike about the villa itself, except for the unfortunate fact that our villa was the first one, located right next to the restaurant, bar, and pool. This meant that other guests and staff frequently passed by, making it a bit noisy and less private at times. Gili T has quite a lot of mosquitoes, so be sure to use repellent! The food at the restaurant was okay. We loved the direct access to the beach, but unfortunately, the hotel only provides a limited number of sunbeds. Also, a general note about the beaches and swimming on Gili T: the beaches are covered in sharp, dead coral, which makes walking or swimming uncomfortable without proper footwear.

We loved our stay at Wilsons. The staff are fantastic, the facilities are good and the place was always well maintained. Great room, spacious with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast included was delicious. The area around the hotel is amazing, you can swim out from the beach in front of Wilsons and see turtles. Highly recommend

The restaurant closes after breakfast at 11am and reopens at 1230pm. This was a bit of an issue for us with young children that need to be fed lunch before 1230. Id suggest they keep the restaurant open from breakfast service through to dinner to accommodate families
