We had the amazing opportunity to discover this wonderful hotel during our visit on the Flores Island last week. Although the hotel was in their “soft opening phase”, everything was perfect. The entirety of the staff was there for us, to meet all of our needs and make sure our trip remained memorable, special thank to Astrid. The road accessing the premises was a little perilous but contributed to the “adventurous nature” side and the goal to tranquility. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable, they all had a beautiful terrace (on stilts for us) where the sunset made them justice. The restaurant offers amazing dishes and the welcoming atmosphere was warm and very friendly but remained discreet and professional, warm thank to Budi and all his colleagues. The hotel does not have a beach but the swimming pool facility was incredible. We were able to go for excursions everyday to visit villages, waterfalls, islands etc. We would like to give credit and thank Taufik for everything he made us discover. The diving and snorkeling sites and experiences were highly over our expectations and extremely beautiful. As you may understand, we highly recommend to stay a few days in this dreamy hotel…

- Wonderfully attentive and most friendly staff - Excellent included breakfast with amazing fresh juices and the best bread we had in Indonesia so far - Great views, secluded resort, lovely bar on the sea, just marvelous - perfect for honeymooners or to get away from the stressful and noisy city - Great balineses massages, though they are a bit on the pricey side - Diving day trips possible directly from the resort (pickup via boat, the staff will organize it all)
We were there during the soft opening period so the few small things that were missing will likely change when they fully open. However, a few things to keep in mind: - resort is a bit away from Labuan, you will likely stay here for dinner (the dinner menu changed daily, but wasn‘t that large a selection - however this might change with their full opening) - There is only an rough and steep access road to the resort, which can get slippery when wet (However they also do Airport transfers by boat, which takes a little more time but is a lot more fun)

Oh what a lovely place! 🩷 So quiet and blissful, and also good value for money considering I had my own private villa with a pool! The hotel grounds are beautiful and very well kept, the staff are all so warm, welcoming and friendly. (As I was travelling alone) They also offer a shuttle boat to take you to the property & back to the harbour.
Nothing I didn't like about the property itself, the only thing which might be negative for some people could be the location if you wish to venture out more and not just looking for a place to chill out ...as it is remote and not easily accessible by taxi or motorbike (but they do still offer tours to the komodo islands from the resort itself if you wish to do so)

From the minute we arrived until the minute we left we were in love with Menjaga!! We stayed in the water villa and it was one of the most amazing villas we have ever stayed in!! The deck bar was one of our favourite spots in the resort especially at sunset! The dinner restaurant was fantastic and the rotating menu kept it fun and exciting each meal and the food was amazing!! The staff were so friendly throughout the stay!! It was so lovely getting to know some of them and enjoying their company! This is a really magical part of the world and I would recommend it to anyone who loves to relax and enjoy the absolute scenes!! Thank you for having us!

The concept of the resort if nice, you arrive by walking alongside the water villas then the restaurant and main pool, and then nested in the hills, the other villas. The resort is very secluded and feels exclusive away from the masses. We were actually very glad to have taken the mountain pool villa: 1) you have a pool to swim in at night 2) the views were equally amazing if not slightly better with the colorful gardens below overlooking the bay. No shade to the overwater villas, but the crystal blue waters are very dependent on sunshine and the tides, and I would have felt very uneasy jumping off into the water when I can't see what's down below ha-ha. Definitely geared towards a romantic/relaxing setting with a lot of attention to detail (for example the jellyfish lights, villa rooftops, the way rice is served in a tower with food). Transfer from the airports by van and their boat to the resort was very well organized and stress free. The staff were always ready to help and friendly and checking in frequently on how to enhance your stay.
Though menu options at the restaurant change daily, options are a bit limited at times if someone doesn't for example eat pork / fish. This being said, the staff did make a plan in these cases and allowed options from previous days. Read the fine print! Through Booking.com you can't pre-pay for the property which I thought was taken care of when submitting credit card details. So, upon checkout you receive the final bill incurred at the resort together with the room price. Unfortunately, this grand total then gets a bank-handling fee percentage added on top of the amount presented, which made the stay much more expensive than anticipated.

The resort itself is truly a hidden gem, its design is very beautiful. We had so much fun watching the monkeys and the beautiful sunsets. The best part is definitely the staff - everyone is so kind, polite and helpful. Always smiling. And the food was delicious! The live cooking event was very special! We also booked a full day Komodo boat tour, that was also very good and we will always remember snorkeling with mantas.
You have to get along with bugs and other small animals - but they do everything they can, if a bigger one gets into your room.

I recently enjoyed a fantastic 3 day, 2 night stay at Menjaga Resort Labuan Bajo. Choosing one of their premier water chalets, I was immediately struck by the incredible service and attention to detail that made this a truly memorable experience. Day 1: From the moment we arrived at the harbor, we were treated like royalty. The staff were absolutely amazing, starting with the warm welcome we received from, who helped us with our luggage and made sure we were comfortable. The boat ride to the resort was scenic and relaxing, thanks to our skilled and friendly boat driver. We were greeted with refreshing welcome drinks and a comprehensive tour of the resort, which was stunning. Check-in at the sunset harbor was a breeze, and we were escorted directly to our beautiful water chalet. The room itself was spacious, spotless, and had everything we could possibly need. We quickly changed into our swimwear and took advantage of the complimentary canoes and paddle boards to explore a nearby island. The snorkeling was incredible – vibrant corals and an abundance of fish! Day 2: The resort had seamlessly arranged our Komodo Island excursion. They coordinated with the tour agent to ensure a smooth pick-up at the Komodo Island marine park entrance. We had a phenomenal day hiking, swimming, snorkeling, and encountering the incredible wildlife – Komodo dragons and manta rays! It was an unforgettable experience. Upon our return to the resort, we were treated to a delicious dinner at the Menjaga Bah restaurant. Every dish was a delight, from the appetizers to the main courses and even the ice cream! Day 3: We savored our final day at the resort, starting with a fantastic breakfast buffet that offered a tempting selection of international and local cuisine. I spent a relaxing afternoon swimming in the exquisite pool. What made this stay truly exceptional was the staff.

Absolutely everything, the location was just beautiful, set back in the bay it was so picturesque and calming, from the moment you see it coming in by boat, you know you're in for an incredible & thoroughly relaxing experience. Staff were excellent, so helpful, always polite & attentive, plenty of tips for snorkeling and kayaking round the bay. Food every day was delicious and always well portioned. The sea huts were just fantastic, calming, quiet, everything you need is there with you in the room. The bathroom.outside was wonderful, everything you need & the outdoor (but covered) shower was great too. I still miss those spectacular sunsets off the jetty.
Nothing springs to mind. maybe a little too much mustard on the sliced raw tuna starter i had one night, but that's about it.

We boarded the hotel boat and cut across the bay at sunset to arrive in the dark. The first thing we saw on arrival was a cute hut at the end of the pier and lots of people lounging on bean bags drinking and listening to gentle music. The hut was actually the substantial Sunset Bar that opens just in time for guests to cosy up on the pier to watch the spectacle. We joined in the next night and watched the sun disappear as a huge red ball behind the siloette of the islands. Our studio apartment had a private pool that overlooked the grounds and had a view of the Bay and distant islands as well. A genius landscape architect at work here!! The meals were delicious and the menu changed every day. The breakfast was a reason to get up. None of this would have been as enjoyable if it were not for the helpfulness and warmth of the staff. They were all brilliant.
We were in a Zen bubble... nothing to complain about

Staying at Menjaga Bay was definetly one of the highlights of our trip. From the friendly and helpful staff to the amazing facilities, evertyhing exceeded our expectations. Its remote location makes it the perfect place to relax and simply enjoy nature at its best. We couldn't recommend it more.
Definitely not an issue for us, but just a heads-up: the bathrooms are located outside, so you might encounter some bugs. Personally, I think it enhances the nature experience, but if you're not comfortable with bugs, you might want to take that into consideration.
