I recently had the pleasure of staying at Munduk Menir Villas, and it was an unforgettable experience. Nestled in the lush mountains of Munduk, this hidden gem offers breathtaking views, fresh mountain air, and a tranquil escape from the busy tourist areas. The villas are beautifully designed with a mix of traditional Balinese architecture and modern comforts. My villa was spacious, clean, and featured a stunning private balcony overlooking the greenery. Waking up to the sound of birds and mist rolling over the hills was truly magical. The staff were incredibly warm and attentive, always ready to assist with a smile. From arranging local excursions to recommending the best nearby waterfalls, their hospitality was top-notch. One of the highlights of my stay was exploring the nearby waterfalls and rice terraces. The location is perfect for nature lovers who want to hike, enjoy scenic drives, or simply relax in a peaceful setting. If you're looking for a serene retreat in Bali away from the crowds, I highly recommend this place.

The view was the best we had in Bali, Munduk itself is quiet and small and you can't walk anywhere but you don't need to when at this hotel. Very beautiful, very clean and lovely staff (comfiest bed on the whole trip). I would recommend including breakfast and dinner when you book unless you would like to get a taxi each night you stay. This was the only place we stayed that had a heated pool as well which was amazing we loved our stay here.

We love the peaceful surroundings and the great view of the mountains and forest. Rooms were really comfy and we enjoyed the stay and the space. The service from the staff was really good and attentive from the front desk, the restaurant to the driver who drove us around for the few days. We really appreciate the takeaway breakfast arrange by the front desk on the last morning as we had to leave really early for the airport.

The 2 bedroom villa is really comfortable with a pool but it is right above the services area and at times we could hear activities going on downstairs. Though it wasn’t a big issue, we felt that it would have been nicer if it wasn’t arranged this way. Food choices and taste at the Spice Restaurant was only average and could be better. We had to get out to eat elsewhere a couple of nights.

Loved our stay at Munduk Menir Villas! We had such an amazing time at Munduk Menir Villas, tucked away in the beautiful hills of Bali. They made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived, which really added to the whole experience. The food at Munduk Spices Restaurant? Incredible. Everything was fresh, packed with delicious Balinese flavors, and made with so much care. And the view? Seriously magical. Imagine sitting down to eat with stunning mountains and lush green landscapes all around you – it’s like dining in a postcard. The villa itself was super cozy, especially the bed. After a day of exploring Munduk’s waterfalls and scenic trails, sinking into that comfy bed was the best feeling ever. The whole vibe of the place is so peaceful, perfect for recharging. If you’re planning a trip to Bali and want a cozy, relaxing stay with amazing food and jaw-dropping views, you’ve got to check out Munduk Menir Villas. It’s the ideal retreat for anyone who loves nature, great service, and good vibes.

A great little spot in the mountains! Room was large, clean and had a big comfy bed and nice bathtub. Staff were helpful, and had options for tours and drivers. Easy to book a driver locally, or to take you to other major towns like Ubud, Sanur, Amed etc. You could rent scooters direct from the villa, which were super cheap ($15 AUD for the whole day). Views were great. Good value for price.

Overall a great stay. If we had any suggestions, it would be to have a fan in the room. Didn't need aircon as it was quite cool in the mountains, but rooms got a bit stuffy during the day. No mosquito net on the bed meant we couldn't leave doors open for air. Also, no shade by the pool. Having some umbrellas would be nice, to protect from midday sun while lounging by the pool. Other then that, no issues. Had a great time!

This was by far the most comfortable and amazing place to stay we'd had throughout our 2 weeks+ stay in Bali. The location in the mountains is superb if a bit colder than the rest of the island (although it was a nice change for a while) the Munduk Menir Villas felt like a hundred star hotel and stay at a friend's house at the sime time. Everything was amazing, the staff super friendly and nice, the facilities amazing, the restaurant was absolutely amazing. It's a little more expensive than usual in Bali, but even for us middle class peasants still absolutely affordable. The staff even went above and beyond when we felt sick one day from the sun, and brought tea and stuff free of charge. Loved it and everyone who works there. Would come again any time

We stayed here for four nights with family. The location is absolutely beautiful. Magnificent views from each villa. This place is for pure relaxation. It’s small hotel with around 10 villas so it’s quiet and peaceful. The staff is always smiling and happy to help. The heated pool was absolutely amazing. We actually enjoyed staying out in the rain and being that heated pool was brilliant. The WiFi was very good through out the place.

They really need to work on their food options in resturant. There are very limited options in the morning breakfast, lunch & dinner. The resturant staff was always happy to accommodate but they could only do so much. The villas don’t have any ventilations. Munduk is absolutely magnificent location but it’s humid and damp. The villas smelt of damp because there is no ventilations. Small things like there is no where to hang your towel in the shower area. Just need some fine tuning.

The room, the view, the garden, the pool are very nice. I also had a good massage at the SPA. The staff was kind and helpful, especially Sonja who seems running the place. They have a very nice map with really good and helpful information. Good place to relax and enjoy the beauty of Munduk.

Breakfast is good. The food in the evening need to improve. Also the restaurant should be more charming especially during the day when there are no tablecloths on the table.

Loved the view. The view from the restaurant/infinity pool was stunning. The staff were kind and caring. Even if we had a crazy schedule of leaving for tour at 2 in the morning, they were kind enough to look after us. I would also like to specially thank our driver Putu. He was the kindest and funniest person ever! We were able to chat and communicate in English, and he answered all of our questions about Bali in a friendly manner. He also had excellent driving skills. Since visiting Munduk without a rental car can be challenging, I would like to recommend him to anyone in the future that needs a ride to Munduk.

There were several bugs in our room, and one of them was a really big spider.. But since Munduk is in the middle of a mountain, I didn't mind it that much. Also the staff provided us with bug repellent sprays and lotions. Also since we visited in February, the pool was too cold to swim lol. I think it will be fine in the summer time.

The scenery is amazing! The staff is very nice, they have a not heated (rather cold) and heated pool. They make a fire in the firepit every night. Remember Munduk is a place you want to visit for the epic views, nature, slower pace and lower temperatures compared to the crowded places as Ubud and Canguu. Yes, the villas are made out of wood and make noise when you walk around, but to us this all was in-line with the overall back to nature experience. I would highly recommend this place to stay as it has the best price-quality rating of any place in Munduk

As the property is located on a hill slope, the road to you villa and the central pool area might be steep. Also we only stayed for two nights, if you stay longer and would like to go out for dinner a cab would be needed adding to the overall costs of staying. A scooter is not advised in this area due to the steep mountains.
