I came across this boutique property in Nusa Penida and loved the design and cozy-feel. It’s in a great location with cafes/bars/restaurants within walking distance. However, their best part about this place are the people that make it what it is, especially Daniel and Evan. They are the most warm, kind and welcoming people that make you feel at home. I had only checked-in for one night, but extended for one more night, just because of them. They surpassed all expectations and set the bar so high. Extremely helpful with everything, whether its local recommendations or assisting with any bookings- they go out of their way to make your stay a memorable one. I also had the pleasure of personally interacting with Daniel and Evan because they would always be around to assist you and I would sometimes work in their cafe/lobby, so I got to spend time with them and hear their amazing stories, I learnt a lot about local culture and I don’t think I would have had that elsewhere. I will truly miss them, but they are my friends now and I can’t wait to be back. Daniel and Evan- you guys are the best and thank you so much for the best time! I will be back for sure!

Bungalows lovely, spacious , air conditioned and very clean . Lovely pool and sunbeds. Towels changed daily . Staff were exceptional especially Sri who assisted us with all our trips and even arranged for us to have our nails done . Evan also very helpful and friendly and helped us arrange car transfers daily .

Nothing everything was great

The facilities are just amazing. Feels like a paradise. Room was beautiful with great details. The warm and very attentive staff were always looking after us.

We booked the bungalows. When we when into the bungalows it felt some kind of odor not comfortable for us. We asked Evan if we were able to change to another one and he very patient showed us another bungalow. He was always very attentive with us. At the end we chose the rooms just behind the bungalows which we found more comfortable for us, with no odor at all.

The place is wonderful, the room was super tidy and organized. The breakfast was delicious and the service was impeccable. I don't remember the name of the girl who served us, but from the moment we arrived she was super attentive. I explained that my husband was feeling unwell, with diarrhea and since it wasn't time to check in, she asked us to wait at the reception. I asked her which pharmacy was closest and she said that the best option was for him to go to the hospital, because if it was a bacteria infection, it wouldn't be any use just going to the pharmacy. So she called a taxi for us. We stayed at the hospital for almost 5 hours and my husband was medicated and had a bacterial infection. When we got back, she helped me order food for delivery and also bought two coconut waters for my husband. She was wonderful. We need more people like her.

Away from the road and it’s only little tranquil spot. The bungalows are spacious and cleaned every day, the outside shower is strong. The beds were comfy too and soft but firm pillows. The breakfasts were delicious and a good choice, eggs Benedict and the fruit juice were spot on. The swimming pool was clean and the sun beds around it were comfy with thicker cushions. Evans and Sri helped us whenever they could and we had a motorbike for 7 days as well which they organised. The rest of the staff were very friendly and smiles all around. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Highly recommended! The staff are incredibly attentive and kind. Not only that, but you never feel ripped off or like they’re just after your money - which was unfortunately the impression we got at other places. We rented a motorbike, booked the Manta Ray tour, and organized taxis through them - all smooth and trustworthy experiences. Definitely stay at the bungalows -it was a beautiful experience. This place truly made our stay special. Everything felt so thoughtful and lovely.

Bangalows, location, staff

We stayed in the superior rooms at La Roja. During our month long trip around Bali and the surrounding islands, this was by far the best accomodation all round. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very clean and tidy, the grounds were very pleasant and well maintained, and the shared pool was lovely. The staff were extremely friendly from the get go, and were always on call to help us out with planning day trips/tours, drivers to local restaurants, ordering breakfasts, etc. we were beyond impressed with La Roja, they exceeded our expectations and we would recommend this accomodation to anyone planning a trip to Nusa Penida!

The staff were so helpful, Evan and Yusrina were very attentive and made us feel very welcome. We went out early one morning during our stay and Yusrina prepared us a takeaway breakfast outside of the allotted breakfast times which was a lovely touch. Rooms are spacious and comfortable and you are able to rent scooters and do laundry with ease. Breakfast was lovely and there are some really nice places within walking distance, better places (Penida Collada) just a short distance by scooter. Room also had a smart tv with Netflix login should you wish to spend an evening in. All in all, great stay!

No fault of the hotel - Just a bit noisy at night, dogs and cockerels making noise and disrupting sleep. Nothing a set of ear plugs doesn’t fix though.

We had an incredible stay at La Roja, from check-in to check-out. A special thanks to all the staff, especially Ms. Sree, who went above and beyond to ensure our experience in La Roja and Nusa Penida was as wonderful as possible, let me tell you, her positivity is absolutely infectious! And we loved meeting her! The rooms were beautifully decorated, and we especially loved the open shower design. The swimming pool was a perfect place to relax. The location is ideal – very close to the port and centrally situated between the east and west of Penida, making all major attractions just 30-40 minutes away. Additionally, it's conveniently near the main town, with shops and restaurants within easy reach. Also, they have a little breakfast menu which has some great continental breakfast options to start your day. We definitely recommend you to stay at La Roja for your Nusa Penida stay, we absolutely loved it and we cannot wait to come back ❤️

My boyfriend and I had a perfect little stay in La Roja during our time in Nusa Penida. Bed was comfortable, room was spacious, and the pool was a great addition to have. Additionally, the staff was great with helping us organise a scooter and our trip to manta point. With that said, I must give a huge shoutout to Sri and Evans! Truly some of the nicest and kindest people we’ve met during our trip, and we’re so grateful for their hospitality:)

Every morning we were woken up by different noises outside. Whilst the animals cannot be controlled, I hope the staff can be reminded that the walls at the front bungalows at least, have very thin walls, and their sweeping of the grounds outside were heard from about 7am every morning.
