A beautiful peaceful oasis just 10 minute walk from Crystal Bay Beach on the west of the Island. Staff were super friendly and helpful in organising drivers, boat tickets etc. They also made cute decoration on the bed to celebrate our honeymoon. Food in the restaurant was lovely - good breakfast and we had dinner there one night too and was great!

The location is great if you want to chill at the beach in Crystal Bay or in the beautiful pool at the hotel, however it is very remote and there’s not much around! It’s also worth noting, private transport and cars are more expensive in Nusa than mainland Bali so something to consider when deciding which location is best for your trip.

A gem in the island!We had wonderful stay in this place.Very friendly staff,comfortable bed and good A/C in the room.Atmosphere is just amazing,really better than in pictures.When you walk to the beach,you cross the local village,which was also a gem for us!Best beach in the island is just 10 min walking and you could get the boat for manta snorkeling from there.I hope I’ll come back again.Thank you again!;)

The location is really great, in the middle of the jungle and at walking distance from a wonderful little bay, with snorkeling directly from the beach. try out the little restaurant on the left side of the beach "Warung beach and stones" The staff was very nice, very helpful (arranging transport etc) and friendly. The food at the restaurant was simple but very good. We were traveling with our kids (6 and 7 years old) and everything about this hotel was well suited for them.

the rooms were nice, but the bed net was a bit hard to set up properly. the doors sometimes got a bit stuck, and for my smallest kid they were too heavy. not a real problem though.

I recently had the pleasure of spending a night at Mahaloka Valley in Nusa Penida, and I can confidently give it a 10/10! From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the stunning scenery that surrounds this hidden gem. The accommodations were beautiful and spacious, offering a perfect blend of comfort and rustic charm. We loved the cozy atmosphere and the thoughtful amenities provided. The views from our room overlooked lush greenery and the serene valley, making it the perfect retreat. The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring that our stay was nothing short of amazing. They went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, from dining recommendations to local insights. We also enjoyed exploring the nearby attractions, 10 walk crystal bay, where we spent our first sunset, short distance with Ahang Cliff and Kelingking Beach just a short drive away. It made for an unforgettable day full of breathtaking sights. In summary, Mahaloka Valley exceeded all of our expectations. If you're looking for a peaceful and picturesque getaway in Nusa Penida, look no further. We can't wait to return!

family of 3 we had 3 separate bed. its should be one double with extra single bed. but we didnt mind

Mahaloka Valley offers a peaceful and comfortable stay in a jungle oasis near Crystal Bay Beach. The little wooden huts provide a truly unique experience to be surrounded by nature whilst still having the same levels of comfort and hospitality that a 'regular' resort provides. We were very well looked after by the owner and resort staff. Whilst the location is fairly isolated the resort offers taxi services or scooter hire to explore the island more easily. During our stay we were lucky enough to spot monkeys in the trees from the pool side.

The restaurant could be further improved. Breakfast options were good however dinner could be better. Hot water for showers are limited however these likely due to the isolated nature of the resort and part of the experience!

Mahaloka Valley is beautiful. There's a stunning pool and the rooms are very cute. There's staff are friendly and it's only a short walk to Crystal Bay, where you can snorkel and enjoy the beach.

It's hard to get around from this spot if you're not confident on a bike. The reception organised some taxis for us, but they weren't always available because the property is in a remote valley, so for most of our stay we had to eat dinner at the attached restaurant and stay at the villa. The restaurant had quite a few options and the food was alright, but if you're looking to explore more of the island and eat at a range of restaurants that are a bit further away, it's good to be a confident bike rider (especially with rocky roads and large hills).

Well maintained of the beautiful garden, nice swimming pool, friendly staffs, clean room/shower, smooth wifi. Food was ok but not very good. Maybe it’s same around this island.

Nothing wrong with the host, but our choice. We selected this hotel due to close the crystal beach. But the beach is not fantastic. The hotel situated in a valley surrounding jungle, very very humidity. Our first room was number 6, there were several gecko on the roof. I couldn’t sleep in first night due to its horrible sounds. One of it fall down to our toilet, it was 20 cm long! It’s not dangerous told by the staffs but just afraid it appears our bed. The staffs brought it to the forest but the sound was still on the roof. We requested to change the room and we move to number 1. It was ok.

The bungallow was clean, well equiped, AC working good. Breakfast was nice, personal was kind.

The location is not so ideal: run down village next door with street dogs attacking tourists. A lot of garbage everywhere if you want to take a walk. There is literally no restaurant nearby it is almost impossible to have a dinner except in the hotel - but there is also not to much options (small kitchen with one guy who is the waiter/cook in one person). It is ok experience for one night - but I would not recommend for longer stays

The location at the end of a valley brought a special ambience. To arrive you travel a dirt road through a traditional village which we were thrilled to be amongst culture. We chose here because of location to Crystal Beach (700m) for a morning swim and snorkeling (anywhere past 10am and many tourists arrive). The staff were helpful, and the restaurant was good. The property is small and intimate. *Snorkelling Crystal Bay is probably best with an operator due to navigating the currents.

We stayed overnight so the distance from the main area of Penida wasn't an issue. Otherwise, i would say a little isolated. I felt a little more attention to the gardens would have elevated our experience.

Just everything about Mahaloka was amazing! The room/villa (stayed in villa number 10) was spacious enough, and was squeaky clean! The bed was so amazing! After long and tiring days of sightseeing, we just fell comfortably asleep in the awesome bed. Can't emphasize enough how critical a good rest is! The location is absolutely fabulous - sandwiched between the forest-laden hills on two sides towards the end of the narrow valley that eventually opens to the sea in crystal bay, and it is so secluded that you really feel peacefully cut off from the world! Having said that, the crystal bay which does get quite a lot of crowd is still just a little more than a stone's throw away! We did all our excursions arranged by the resort itself, and it all worked out quite perfectly. The best part of this resort though is really the people. Right from the owner to the staff working there - everyone is just so courteous and welcoming! We did some of our excursions with driver Jo and it was a real pleasure to have him take us around! The food at the restaurant is also finger-licking good. The breakfast if a bit light on choice for vegetarians - but this is really more of nitpicking. During our stay, luckily we had no-moon night and I have had one of my best ever viewings of the milky way from Mahaloka! It was mesmerizing. I will undoubtedly be staying again here in our next trip.

The only thing I was a bit unhappy about was that the water geyser only seemed to give hot water for a few minutes at a time and then you'd have to wait for hours for it to heat it up again. So our showers mostly turned to cold showers, instead of a nice hot shower especially after a day's outing. We did talk to the owner about this and he tried to check things - but given the remoteness of this place and Nusa Penida itself, it was understandably difficult. Only a very minor inconvenience in an otherwise outstanding stay!
