Amazing view, room was so nice, staff were absolutely amazing. View is spectacular and the pool was right out your back door step.

Kitchen staff and people who would bring our food would not wash their hands after using the restroom. We saw two of their staff walk out from the toilet and walk right past the sink that was situated outside. One even wiped his hands off on the turf floor indicating that he probably wiping urine off his hands. Really disturbing given that these people were the exact ones handling our food and preparing our drinks.

Property is amazing, staff wonderful and so helpful.

It is a fair way from the main strip, there is a shuttle to mambo beach from but unless you’re hiring a bike it’s a trek for anyone planning to walk

The property was everything and more. We loved the boutique style accommodation. The rooms were just lovely. We all loved the style of accommodation, my husband and I had the ground floor which was amazing, having access outside your door to that gorgeous pool with those stunning views. I especially loved all the plants. It made it feel homely. The staff were so friendly, Tasha our main waitress was just so wonderful, a big shout out to her. Her English was very good and she coped very well with our drinks and food requests . She also told us some great “Dads jokes” when we had a short power cut.

The property was amazing nothing to dislike. However , the breakfast could do with a rethink. Maybe a tea and coffee self serve station, as the wait for drinks were slow. Unfortunately we had a few cold breakfasts and had to wait a while. Maybe a toast and jam self serve station would work better. With a cooked breakfast to order.

We loved that we were up on the hill with an amazing view of the mainland and the volcano but could get the free shuttle bus down to mambo beach hotel where you could use the facilities and snorkel from the beach. The rooms are beautiful and the beds were so comfortable. Everything was clean and the hotel supplied all the small touches that elevate it from other hotels. The complimentary breakfast and all other food off the menu was exceptional. Additionally, the staff went above and beyond to help us with everything. We’ll definitely be coming back to mambo hill resort.

Views from your room are spectacular, mountains jungle and sea in one view it doesn't get better than that. Attention to detail in the furnishings. Breakfast was plentiful and ok. Staff helped us with bike hire, boat ticket and transfers. Access to the pool via steps beside your room. Gave lots of freebies ie homemade mosquito spray, suncream, lip balm and other beauty products. Comfortable beds with cushions on the balcony. (Which is hard to come by) Whole place had a good vibe and was easily the best place for value we've stayed at in 10 days

We both suffered dodgy stomachs in the morning after eating dinner both nights. Not sure if it was the food or drinks. Soundproofing not great you could hear other rooms but you are warned of this on arrival.

The views are amazing! Mountain, jungle and pool views from every room. The room is very clean and the beds are comfy. The food is decent, but the breakfast could use improvement. Unlimited free drinking water is a plus. The amenities kit is nice. Its hard to get around Penida without renting a motorbike, so the use of the free shuttle to their sister property on the beach is a major selling point.

The bathroom gets very musty, not much ventilation, so I recommend keeping the doors open. The breakfast could be better, offer more options, and be more filling. We were always hungry after eating breakfast.

Tastefully decorated and furnished. Lovely attention to details. Different to any property we stayed in. Amazing views . Very peaceful . Good location . The shuttle service was very useful. We visited the sister beach resort which had live entertainment in evenings. Reasonable priced meals. Massage services offered at good prices. Great value for money.

For breakfast , Perhaps a little more options to go with the eggs instead of sausage . Like bacon/ beef sausage . Maybe better coffee. Otherwise Very little I did not like . A point to note is that you will hear roosters in the early hours , but I am sure this is the case on most of the island and is expected when travelling to Nusa P, but just a point to mention to travellers, not specific to the hotel.

Mambo Hill Resort – A Surprising Gem in Nusa Penida We recently stayed at Mambo Hill Resort in Nusa Penida, booking three rooms—two upstairs and one downstairs near the pool. Given the island’s remote location, 45 minutes by boat from Bali, we didn’t expect much. However, the resort exceeded all expectations. The rooms were clean, modern, and well-maintained, easily meeting Australian standards. The thoughtful design of the property gave it a fresh and organized feel, making it a true oasis on this serene island. The downstairs room’s proximity to the pool was a bonus, providing easy access for a quick swim or relaxation. The views from the resort were absolutely stunning, offering a picturesque backdrop that added to the tranquil vibe. The staff were exceptional—friendly, accommodating, and always ready to help. Their service truly elevated the experience. The food was another highlight, with a great selection of delicious, fresh, and flavorful dishes that impressed everyone in our group. Mambo Hill Resort is perfect for those seeking comfort and great service on this remote island. It offers a seamless blend of natural beauty, well-thought-out facilities, and warm hospitality. We highly recommend it and would gladly stay again!

While much of Nusa Penida is remote, and the island as a whole faces waste management challenges, this is not the case at the resort. In fact, Mambo Hill is exceptionally clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully organized, standing out as a shining example of comfort and care on the island.

stayed with my parents during Dec 2024. The double rooms with sea view is so nice… the pool is just at your door step. Too bad it was raining a lot so didn’t really get to see the mountain. The staff were friendly and helpful - they helped with arranging shuttle bus to harbour or dive resort. Restaurant food was delicious - loved the fish & chips. Complimentary daily breakfast with lots of options. In-room Balinese massage was good and very affordable. Room was spacious with nice touches - especially loved the pouch with goodies they prepared. Will come back if I’m back to Nusa Penida. Thanks to the Mambo team :)

Thankful for their complimentary shuttle service to the harbour - I missed the one to the hotel as I couldn’t confirm my fast boat timing. Taxis are readily available at the harbour - just need to haggle.

Beautiful resort, beautiful view and comfortable facilities. Various breakfast options and great restaurant menu for lunch and dinner. It is possible to have massage at your room (it happens in your bed). There are many free shuttle rides to their beach resort where happens live music events. On arrival we got a small present with some essentials and their self-made cosmetic products. Staff is very helpful. WiFi is great. Room had very good, powerful hairdryer. TV has some channels. We felt here comfortable and safe, very happy about our choice.

Resort is in nature. There are geckos that climbs the walls and makes loud gecko sounds and there are quite loud rooster singing noises in the sunrise (when they sang all together it was a bit horrifying). Down the hill was some fire happening (staff told us: cleaning work), as we inspected, locals burnt old leaves and rubbish and smoke were coming to our resort. In the first day it was a bit hard to breath. Of course all of these were not resorts fault. Soundproofing could be better, especially in bathroom.
