Pondok Ayu and it's staff are the reason why this is our 11th trip to Bali. Exceeded all our expectations. The wonderful; wonderful staff that are super friendly; well trained was an experience not to forget. Everything well maintained, food served at the restaurant part delicious and cheap. Breakfasts more than sufficient. Our well equipped kitchen was never used. Property location good. 15 minutes walk to beach. Gardens extremely well maintained. 10/10 on all. Could suggest to owners larger TV in bedrooms. Also - few smaller tables in "restaurant" area rather than one large table? Overall- fantastic experience- certainly deserves more than 3 stars. Would most certainly visit again in future. Thanks again to wonderful friendly staff.

It is a quaint, lovely boutique hotel. Too bad the location is too far from everything. It is very quiet which I like, and the garden is beautiful. The staff very friendly and eager to help, but not everyone speaks English, nor are they there 24/7.

Location too far from everything. TV not up-to-date. Channels extremely limited. Staff absence and food service availability only at certain time of day.

The only negative was our bed. It creaked loudly if you moved in bed. The location isn’t in a tourist area, more of a local area. There’s plenty of eateries in walking distance and it’s a very cheap and quick taxi ride to the tourist strip so it didn’t bother us. We preferred it due to the serenity

The hotel met our expectations. Beautiful territory with a wonderful garden, calm, relaxing atmosphere, very clean pool, comfortable and bright rooms. There are only 5 rooms in the facility, but there were practically no neighbors in sight. The room has a wonderful kitchen, equipped with everything you need. Drinking water in large bottles is always available. The staff carefully monitors the order and cleanliness in the rooms and throughout the territory. We extended our stay and always remember with gratitude Pjndok Ayu, his lovely hostess, caring and smiling Kadek and excellent staff.

The property was very quiet (except for the rooster next door… nothing some earplugs didn’t fix!!). We liked that the property had just a few rooms and the garden was very nice and peaceful!!! The pool was fantastic and we had it all to ourselves most of the time! The room was very large with good AC and a mini fridge! The staff were very friendly and always happy to help! We booked massages and we thoroughly enjoyed them. It’s a great place to stay!

There is no actual reception desk, so when we arrived there wasn’t much information provided about the property. A very kind man (who did a lot of the maintenance/ground keeping) helped bring up our bags and showed us to our room. There is an info book in the room so that helped with getting to know the property a little more. The property is located down a dimly lit alleyway. We used our phone flashlight to help guide us back to the property in the evenings. When going to the beach, you do need your cross a busy road. We didn’t have much issue, but thought it was worth mentioning!

Fantastic little hotel, only five rooms and a central courtyard area with the pool so you feel like you're in a very private space. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and also make a delicious breakfast each morning. The rooms are spacious, clean and quiet so we had a lovely sleep each day. Much needed after a couple of weeks in Java! Location is fine, I don't understand the people who complain... the beach is 10 mins walk away, yes there's a busy road but you can just cross it normally. Overall 10/10 would only come back here if we return to Bali.

Lovely room, clean, comfortable and well equipped. Pool and surroundings are lovely and the staff are so friendly. Breakfast is great too. It’s about a 15 min walk from the beach down some risky roads but can also easily get a grab or Gojek ride. Shops and restaurants also within 10-15 mins and lots of local ones on the side of the roads. Massage was brilliant too. Definitely one to come back to if staying in Sanur.

A little remote and was quiet but mainly because it’s low season.

Good location, can easily walk out to Sindhu Night market and other eateries nearby. Pondok Ayu is nice & quiet.

We didn't know that payment for the room wasn't made yet. So far, whenever we book through booking.com, our rooms were prepaid before we go. We were only informed the evening before we left, leaving us no time to arrange for other methods of payment, especially as there was a surcharge of 3% when we paid by credit card. This could have been avoided if we were informed of the need to pay earlier, giving us time to prepare cash.

Have stayed here many many times over the years. It’s very comfortable, spotless and lovely pool and garden. Staff are just diamonds and it’s great to see familiar faces every year. Good breakfast especially they don’t have a restaurant. I have spent 3 Nypei with them and again they all look after us so well. Fridges in rooms and endless bottled water. And must not forget Bella the cat who is usually to be found asleep on a chair beside me at breakfast.

Not one thing.. just perfect

Nice smaller villa setting with pool and garden. King room was the biggest we had in Bali with good air conditioning, great wardrobe area and a good big bathroom vanity. It was also probably the cleanest we had. There's a great local night food market nearby that has small warungs and stalls at non tourist prices.

The staff were hardly around and seemed very shy. When we had questions, we didn't know how to find them. I had to ask for more water which I thought was replaced daily, and we couldn't find the pool towels cupboard. Breakfast was at a shared table. The place is a bit of a walk in the heat to the beach and tourist area, not an issue for us but may be for others.
