Location , amazing pool, views and the room.

We had our first Bali Belly in 23 days of travel here. Both me and my wife were feeling perfectly ok before breakfast, and 30m after we ate, both of us started vomiting. We communicated the issue , but the only thing the employee could say is “We do apologise” at least 50 times. Our concern was the food quality , and that a proper investigation of what went wrong took place . Apologising over and over is not the solution. Usually in Bali if something like this happens , they would reduce something from the tab, or offer a complimentary service . This did not happen, and there services like a massage to be considered. The staff was unable to deal with the situation , which was a shame , considering everything else was so great.

Our stay was nothing short of a spiritual journey, and it touched our hearts in ways words can hardly express. We chose the private One-Bedroom Suite, which offered not just a place to stay but an oasis of peace, complete with a private pool and net that seemed to invite us to sink deeply into the surrounding natural beauty. The view was beyond description, a volcano mountain rising majestically above a lush jungle, a sight that felt like a direct connection to the earth’s soul. Every moment spent in that room was a reminder to pause, breathe, and simply be. The staff were incredibly warm, kind, and attentive, making us feel like family. Their service was outstanding, and always helpful. The open-air spa is a must there!! it was a perfect place to unwind, offering a peaceful and holistic experience. The villa is located just 10 minutes from restaurants, grocery stores, and money exchange offices. Virgin Beach, a must-see destination, is just a 50-minute drive away, and Gembleng Waterfalls are only 15 minutes by car. Plus, you can rent a bike directly from the hotel to explore the area. Patal Kikian Villa was the highlight of our entire trip in Bali!!! An unforgettable experience we’ll definitely be returning to.

The only suggestion would be for the private road leading to the hotel to be better maintained, as it can be challenging when commuting by bike or car, but it's manageable.

A number of visitors used the pool even though they weren’t staying there. A large very noisy disrespectful group of 10 people arrived at 5:45am to take photos and woke up all the villas and ruined the peace. We were asked by the group to get out of the way for sunset photos even though they weren’t staying there. They argued with us and yelled at us.

The property is beautiful, staff have been great. Location was good

The road to the property is hard, broken road should fix it for more convenience. The property charged us for a small coffee stain on the bed sheet, 10 pounds for a bed sheet which is ridiculous

Get ready for some serious honest review. I usually never really give reviews in detail but this resort deserves my time to write this. Our stay at Patal Kikian Villas was truly beyond expectations from the moment we arrived until the day we checked out. We were warmly welcomed & even received a complimentary upgrade to a private pool villa, which was absolutely amazing. The villa offers a direct, unobstructed view of Bali’s tallest and most majestic volcano, Mount Agung. A truly breathtaking sight that left us speechless! The atmosphere throughout the property is incredibly serene. We found ourselves perfectly content simply relaxing in our villa, whether lounging in the living room or enjoying the private pool, both of which face the stunning Mount Agung. It was so peaceful & beautiful that we barely felt the need to leave. We wanted to extend our stay but unfortunately the resort was fully booked :( The staff were genuinely friendly & attentive, adding a personal & welcoming touch to our experience. The food from on-site restaurant was consistently delicious, with a great variety to choose from, so much so that we happily dined there for every meal. Every time we went for dinner, we were pleasantly surprised to return & find our room had been tidied up again, which was such a thoughtful detail! We also appreciated the complimentary local appetizers served at the start of each meal, a lovely way to experience more of Balinese flavors. Breakfast was equally satisfying, with generous selections to start the day right. We were also treated to a complimentary 15-minute foot massage during our stay, which added a relaxing touch. The bed was beautifully decorated in a way we had never seen before! And the pillows are so comfy! Overall, this was a superb and memorable experience :) We will definitely return to Patal Kikian Villas every time we visit Bali. Highly recommended!

Nothing really. We loved our stay! As a small suggestion perhaps, for the One Bedroom Suite with private pool, it would be great to have an umbrella or some form of shade in the poolside lounging area, as it gets quite hot during midday when the sun is directly overhead.

We stayed in one of the room with a private pool, and it was such an incredible experience. The view in the morning was breathtaking—you could see the mountains clearly, and the surrounding nature made everything feel so peaceful and secluded. The private pool was definitely the highlight. We spent most of the day there, completely relaxed, without even needing to go to the main pool. You have everything you need right at your fingertips. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, which made our stay even more special. Yes, the price is a bit higher compared to other places, but it’s absolutely worth it—even if just for one or two nights. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a bit of luxury and tranquility during your stay. The spa at the hotel was also top-notch—truly a wonderful experience. The ladies there were amazing, and I’d absolutely recommend treating yourself while you’re there.

You are paying only for the view:) I don’t see any additional value in this place. Property is nice and well maintained, but bungalows are probably older because during our trip in Bali we stayed in better and cheaper accommodation. Bungalows with private pool looked new though. Breakfast was big disappointment, couldn’t eat salmon with eggs, bread was sweet, eggs were not salty, hollandaise source tasted nothing like it, very disappointing. I mean even simple breakfast can be tasty, but somehow they tried to make it fancy and it just didn’t work. We ordered Nasi Goreng next day it was tasty, but not beautifully presented how you would expect from the place of this price. Floating breakfast is extra charge, and it wasn’t even tasty. So again , just the view which you see if it’s not cloudy, so check weather before coming. View is of course beautiful, but you can see it from many places in the village so next time I would definitely not pay so much for this accommodation. Complementary morning walk in rice field was very nice and also coffee/tea hour with snacks during the day was very nice touch.

- breakfast needs to be improved - it’s quite far from the village (it’s on a hill so you can’t walk but it’s far and tiring) , you need to have motorbike or order car from hotel for 100K because there is no grab - overall people staying there were older, so if you want to spend whole time in the pool with a view probably it’s a good place, but we are in our 30s we took the bike and spend all day outside anyway

IT IS ALL ABOUT THE VIEW - All rooms face the majesty of Mt Agung - this is what Sidemen is all about. Our room was huge, comfortable, clean, & well appointed. The staff were kind, courteous, and friendly. The restaurant was being renovated but the room service meals and cocktails were great and reasonably priced. Our infinity pool was huge and we spent hours lounging around just watching Mt Agung reveal itself in its many glorious moods. I would challenge any Sidemen hotel to have a better view!

Nothing....it's a little remote, but that's the price you pay for the view.

Patal Kikian offers a beautiful and serene location and unbelievable views to Mt. Agung. Service was very attentive and polite. Villa with a small dipping pool was a good choise and would book again with no hesitation. SPA treatments were very good and SPA location gave nice views to surroundings. Food and drinks had good quality. Hotel's free morning trekking was a good experience and the guide took us to local Balinese house and lush country side. We can only recommend this hotel to everyone who loves a smaller and serene resort with an awesome and remote location in Sidemen. Pure relaxation.
