Nestled in about 14 acres of lush landscape in Ubud, Ananda Resort offers a serene and enchanting escape. The staff’s warmth and attentiveness ensure a welcoming atmosphere, making every moment feel special and safe for a solo female traveler. The beautifully appointed rooms, with their classic traditional Balinese decor, provide a peaceful retreat. Whether it’s the picturesque surroundings or the delightful breakfast buffet, Ananda Ubud creates a magical experience that captures the essence of Bali’s charm.

With 3 beautiful yoga pavilions, I wish they actually have scheduled daily yoga classes where guests can opt to sign up for. Currently, they do offer yoga but on an arranged schedule, depending upon how many people are interested so it makes it quite expensive if you’re the only one.

I’ve stayed in Ubud so many time and in different locations and Ananda is now one of my favourite. I didn’t have a private villa but a room up the top level with rice paddie views and a beautiful balcony and it felt so private. I loved the grounds, the great selection from the buffet breakfast, the pools and the room was perfect and so clean and bathroom had a bath. I always had the balcony door open. Everything was super clean. And staff were amazing.

Nothing. As I loved everything

My room was big and comfortable- the outdoor day bed awesome. The daily water in glass bottles was fabulous- liked the eco approach. Staff were so helpful and friendly. The pools - all 3 - what a treat Gardens - beautiful gardens - wildlife love it - frogs, birds, lizards, bees, turtles, fish, squirrels- wow - heaven Ananda is in such a good location- quick scooter to town, lovely walk out in the rice fields, walk to town by laneways or road, or stay local & eat, massage, art, coffee, cocktails - all just across the road Bliss Spa was so nice I especially liked my outdoor bathroom - so special And was thankful for the big umbrella

My aircon was noisy as it is older and not so cold A ceiling fan on the veranda would be a bonus No enough options to fill up reusable water bottles with drinking water

Overall a great place to stay

The food could be improved, the breakfast in particular. The menu is good however the taste is below average. Update the TV's so you can use Netflix and other streaming apps for late night relaxing.

Astonishing view when arriving, the nice wooden houses among the beautiful rice fields have a stunning atmosphere. The service is comprehensive, there is a big restaurant and bar where staff is really caring for all your needs. The food is good, but wouldn't eat every day there as there many nice opportunities around to find nice dishes. Everyone there is very kind and helpful. The rooms are spacious, the bed comfortable. There is lavatory service, you just put your clothes out, next day is in your room, nicely wrapped.

I can't say anything negative to Ananda. The only thing which is annoying the traffic around, if you want to go out for the day, best choice to ask for a taxi pickup latest at 8 am to avoid jams.

We were stunned by the beautiful nature, rice fields and how impeccable the gardens are kept. We loved the courses they offer and tried yoga and preparing Balinese offerings. Did them with my 7 year old daughter and we both enjoyed them very much and moreover we gained more knowledge about it. Also room service has a really tasteful menu. For us, the location was great, peaceful and a good starting point to explore the surroundings with a scooter and the road is not that busy since Ubud centre seems to be jammed permanently. There are also enough eating options around, k-mart and lots of galleries.

That we didn't stay longer.

Friendly family run, beautiful accommodation, the grounds are stunning and they were very friendly & hospitable. The family also welcome us into their temple, which we were very honoured, it was a beautiful experience. The only thing was the air-con in the bedroom was on freezing, no matter what temperature was set, the second night we turned it off & the floor was dripping wet & damp, we were also constantly asked by the cleaner, from the time we arrived as to what time we were leaving, we were staying two days & check out was 12 o’clock.

The rooms are large and beautifully furnished with large verandah's or balconies. Huge bathrooms with large baths and showers. Lots of toiletries and gowns and spa slippers are provided and there is a fridge which was very useful. The gardens are absolutely stunning. There are 2 infinity pools and another pool - we didn't use them as the (very heavy) rain didn't stop much during our stay but we would have loved to have had a day sitting in the peaceful surroundings. There are also yoga studios that seemed to be very well attended - not our thing but certainly a wonderful setting for this. We ate in the restaurant (and had room service too) several times, and the food was very nice - quite a lot of Western dishes, which seemed to be fairly normal in Ubud now. Last time we were there, this wasn't really an option (many years ago). There is a very useful hotel shuttle into Ubud centre 3 times a day, and you find your own way back to the hotel - walkable (about 20-25 mins from the Ubud Palace) We loved our stay. Although Ubud is ridiculously busy now the Ananda is far enough away from the centre that it wasn't at all noisy and the rooms and bungalows are set back a long way from the road.

There was nothing about the hotel we didn't like.

The location is perfect and very peaceful. When you walk in, it really feels like you left the noise of the city behind you and walked into nature. Our rooms offered an amazing view on the infinity pool and rice terraces. There's an extremely enjoyable walkable path in the back of the street near the rice terraces leading to yoga places, massage places, warungs and cafés. Don't miss the Yellow Flower restaurant. The hotel is at a walkable distance to Ubud center (walkable Bali style of course). Very friendly staff, especially the rooms cleaners.

The location of the hotel is excellent. A quiet part of Ubud but still close enough to pop into town. There are 3 one way hotel shuttles each day. There are excellent restaurants and art shops near the hotel. We ate in them all, some twice. The car and driver we used for 2 long day trips was a safe driver and very accommodating - lots of photo stops.

The resort is not slick and new, if you want that go elsewhere. If you want a great Ubud experience stay here.
