Staff is extremely polite and food is great. Atmosphere in Menzel is charming and magical, really a hidden treasure.

We first booked standard room which really needs to be renovated asap. It’s not even 1 star room comparing to states 4 star ( old and broken furniture with no Sef and no tv which was described to have) Doesn’t Match pictures at all. After staying one night there we requested to pay for upgrade to better room and ended up in little villa with private pool. This was 3 x more price than standard room but it was worth it.

It’s going to be a bit emotional! First and foremost, I want to mention four incredible people who truly made my stay unforgettable — Wahyu, Rista, Radha (all from reception), and the lovely trainee Riko. Every day, they welcomed me with a warm smile, which—alongside cleanliness—is one of the most important things for me. I don’t have enough words to describe how kind, genuine, and pure-hearted these people are. They were always there for me, patiently answering my questions and reminding me that, no matter that I was just a hotel guest, the good in people does exist. Now, about the hotel itself: amazing location (just a few minutes’ walk from the city centre), absolutely DELICIOUS food (and I’m a bit picky!), spotless cleanliness, and stunning views! If you're interested, you can also book various entertainment programs that give you a deeper glimpse into Bali’s unique and beautiful culture. Fazit (summary): 100000000% recommended! Thank you! ❤️

Everything! A magical place. I didn't want to leave. It was perfect, from staff to food. The villa was spotless and cleaned every day. I will be back.

The settings around the rice terrasses are very nice and quiet. There are two swimming pools, close to all accommodations. A 30min massage at the hotel spa was offered with our booking, we had a super great massage with Budi, you can tell she has experience. We could rent motorbikes at the hotel.

The door between the room and bathroom had a window, which limited the privacy. The hotel could improve its sustainability: for example provide a bucket refilled every day with drinking water, in order to reduce the plastic bottle consumption.

The staff were exceptionally kind, friendly, and always willing to help. The atmosphere around the dining area and the pool was serene and inviting perfect for relaxing. While we didn’t personally enjoy most of the food due to the heavy use of coconut oil (which is common in Asian cuisine), we’re sure the dishes are of high quality for those accustomed to the local flavors. If you’re not used to these tastes, it might be a bit challenging at first, but the staff are very responsive and willing to accommodate your preferences if you let them know. Overall, it’s a charming hotel that blends beautifully with the Bali vibe, and we were quite satisfied with our stay.

The hotel differs somewhat from typical Western-standard resorts, so it’s best to adjust your expectations accordingly. One downside was the poor sound insulation in the rooms, which could be an issue for light sleepers. Additionally, the location is not within walking distance to the main center, which might be inconvenient for some. However, this can easily be solved by renting a motorbike directly from the hotel or using one of the popular ride-hailing apps.

Great location, close to central Ubud, but far enough away it wasn’t busy. Felt very at one with nature, like we were in a jungle, it was incredible. Staff were super helpful and met all of our needs and dietary requirements. Food was fantastic, lots of choice, we had breakfast included and it was really lovely, so many options and all delicious. Our room was such great value for money, having our own private space and pool was brilliant. View from our room looked out over the rice field and shared pool, beautiful at night. Would recommend to anyone staying in Ubud and will definitely be back!

It was in a quiet location away. from the hustle and bustle. The staff were great, very attentive and caring. I particularly liked the balinese style villas. Rooms are very spacious,

Although I don't watch TV, it could have been impossible to use, because in my room it was set close to the window, facing a bedside table. Sitting on the bed meant that I could only see it sideways. No tables or chairs around the resort... just at the restaurant which was by the pool. It would be nice to sit somewhere to relax and enjoy nature without having to stay at the restaurant area. The rooms are not soundproof and there was quite a lot of noise from neighbouring rooms until late at night - the hotel should have a notice stating quiet time and respect after 10.

Bad coffee, needs a real improvement! No Clear direction to the hotel! Ants in the bathroom. But still a real 10 for Menzel!

Lovely hotel and our room was great with private pool which was very private and not overlooked by any other rooms. Staff were fantastic and food was great. Loved the BBQ nights with live music although they were a tad expensive.

Location was not great with it being very difficult to walk to any restaurants and a 15 mins taxi was required to get to anywhere . Hotel is down the bottom of a very narrow road which our taxi couldn't access so we had to walk the last 5 minutes or so. Hair dryer in the room was poor and very old considering how nice a hotel it was. Our private pool area was not in the sun so pool was freezing. Lots of ants everywhere. However we still loved it and it's a lovely setting over rice fields with traditional architecture.
