Place is very quiet and cozy. Big garden, old but nice yoga Shaka down on the garden. Rooms are cozy, with AC, private bathroom and outdoor shower. Small yard with table and two chairs. Inside the room also you have kettle, cups and spoons. Room cleaning and water changing everyday. Sound isolation of rooms is good. You have a big closet in the room and little bamboo stair for drying clothes Stuff is very friendly, welcoming and polite. Ketut is the best manager.

Kitchen could be more clean. The roof is old and natural and something is falling on the food when you cook and no cover for pots. Only big pots are available. Room cleaning is everyday, but sometimes I didn’t get the point of cleaning girls, when they was doing one thing one day and leaving some stuff unattended the other day. Room a little bit dark.

I stayed for 2 nights when I did a one-week CrossFit training as the CrossFit gym is within 10 mins walk. The guesthouse is in a quiet street and I love walking on this little lane in the morning. Lots of restaurants & shops within 10 mins walk. This area is not that easy to walk around as traffic is very busy, but you can get motorbike taxi to go to all major attractions like the Ubud palace & various yoga centers within 20 mins. Yoga barn is about 25 mins walk.

The bathroom is outside of back door so the room is quite dark as you need to keep the back door shut to avoid mosquitoes. But outdoor bathroom is quite common in Bali & you get what you paid for.

The staff was very friendly, the air conditioning was working as it was meant to, they where make up our room everyday, we could refill our bottle of water, we could rent a scooter there, there room was looking pretty well. Shower was outside with the sink, and it was cute

The door of the toilet didn’t close at all, and it was having an open window with not net for the mosquitoes, so some mosquitos where getting inside from the window’s toilet there. Not enough bin containers, only the one in the toilet

Hidden gem located just outside central Ubud. It's a peaceful retreat with a beautiful private garden that gives the whole place a calm and relaxing atmosphere perfect for a short getaway. Beautiful private garden, well-kept and full of character, adding to the peaceful charm. Close to central Ubud, not right in the center, but still just a short walk or ride away. Super friendly staff, incredibly kind, helpful, and made the stay feel very welcoming.

Maintenance could be improved, small things like a broken light bulb and worn-out wooden chairs need more attention.

Ketut and the staff are very kind and helpful, I felt very happy to be there! Astawa House is located just two blocks from a main street so it is a great place if you want to check our local food or walk a block or two to the more touristy places with lots of live music and variety in types of food! There is also a lovely card for garden so I spent lots of nice quiet time not leaving the area - overall a great value for money! :)

The staff was extraordinarily friendly and helpful, which I truly appreciate.

Nothing in particular about the guest house, but more about the other guests (foreigners) next doors who were being noisy and inconsiderate while staying in a small and intimate property, e.g. they slammed the door when closing it, talking quite loud in the middle of the night.

It’s a great value for the price! I really liked the outdoor shower and the fact that it was close to Titi Batu wellness club where I spent the majority of the day!

The room could have been cleaner (deep clean) there was a lot of dust between the walls and furniture, and the toilet room had permanent stains and water. I believe there was also mold in the toilet room. Sometimes housekeeping would forget to replenish the tissue box and toilet paper, leaving me in a tricky situation in the morning lol. But they were quick to answer when I’d text them!

We loved the outside shower, and the huge bed.

Wow, this accommodation was the best we had so far!! We didn't expect much and were really surprised at how wonderful this place was. We were able to walk from our last accommodation in Ubud Centre to this place with our bags which took about 25 min. Astawa House has a beautiful garden. Ketut and his friend were extremely nice people, very polite and helpful. They did try to sell us anything, even told us a bit about the traditional ceremonies. The room was big and the bed was the biggest I had ever seen! The shower was outside but very beautiful with a big mirror and nice decorations. Good water pressure and hot water. Ketut and his friend cleaned the room daily! There is even a small kitchen that you can use with a few simple equipment. Quite area, but not too far away.

There were some moments where the bugs that seemed like crickets would get quite noisy but that's just nature and I found that very easy to accept and got quickly used to it. my partner would sometimes wear earplugs in the morning but he wasn't bothered about that. We will always come back to this wonderful place!

We had a lovely stay at Astawa house. Location is a bit away from centre of Ubud but we quiet and peaceful. Staff were exceptional, very friendly and helpful and the highlight of the stay. Shared fridge useful. Room small and basic but you get what you pay for. The shower is outdoors but in a really cool, ornate stone setup.
