We received a lovely welcome drink on arrival and the staff couldn’t do enough for you. They were very welcoming and are an asset to the hotel. The room itself was extremely comfy and had a great shower. It was generally quiet which made for a very relaxing stay. We ordered room service which was very well priced.

The location is very close to Ubud but if we were to stay again we would probably stay closer to the main streets. It’s hard to walk about so getting transport was essential which often meant sitting in traffic for 30 minutes on way to a dinner reservation. We felt a lack of privacy as our balcony was very open and staff would come round twice daily to make up the room - they would tend to show up about 5pm when we were showering and getting ready for dinner.

After experiencing firsthand the absolute horror show of traffic and congestion in Ubud city center, I’m beyond ecstatic to have chosen Merak Village. It’s an easy walk into town as well as the Monkey Forest, Ubud Palace and the Elephant Cave, all while being so far removed from the commotion of town. The property is beautifully manicured yet feels so wild in nature. A beautiful pool is at the center of attention with ample sitting/lounging areas throughout the property. I opted for the included breakfasts which were beyond filling all while being incredibly healthy and meticulously prepared. Daily tea service with a snack really was an added bonus. Massage suite in-site with literally the best pricing in town for either 60 or 90 minute services. Spacious, clean and comfortable rooms with tons of natural light that fills the space. But, what really makes this place is the staff. Such incredibly kind, genuine and caring souls that go out of their way to make sure that your ultimate comfort is obtained, all with beautiful smiles across their faces. You truly do feel at home here.

Such a fantastic hotel. The pool is amazing. The staff is lovely. The food was very nice. We had an amazing stay.

I personally didn't mind, but some people could have a problem with the amount of crickets and nearby roosters making noise at any time of the day.

I absolutely loved my stay at Merak Village! The place is very well mentioned by super professional and friendly staff, there is a beautiful shrine and if you ask the staff they will teach you the traditional balinese way of praying, they do prayers and flower offerings every day burning incents all around the property which creates beautiful vibe and fills the space with pleasant scents. There is a river running through the property and the soothing soud of running water makes it even more relaxing. I had a great massage too and the food was delicious (not many vegan/vegetarian options on the menu BUT I asked the staff to substitute chicken with mushrooms and they were happy to do it for me). Great value for money. This place is perfect to rest and recover 🥰

The staff were incredible, so nice and helpful. The food was also really good, there is a lot of food included in the breakfast package. They also give afternoon tea with a different balinese dessert every day (all included). Having a spa right at the hotel was really amazing too. They offer a cooking class which was really fun and tasty and definitely worth the price. They give 2 bottles of drinkable water a day and also have water refill stations which is really helpful. The place is also covered in greenery which is beautiful.

The bathroom gets pretty wet during showers bc the shower area isn’t blocked off by glass. Location is a 40min walk from the centre of Ubud but there are plenty of stores nearby (eg convenience)

Merak Village is a peaceful retreat away from the bustling traffic and crowds of Ubud, which we really appreciated. Despite this, it remains highly accessible to all nearby attractions. A special shoutout to Ashi, the receptionist, who made our stay exceptional. She helped us arrange transportation, provided personalized recommendations based on our preferences, and ensured every detail of our travel plans was taken care of. The rooms were great, the service was excellent, and the leafy outlook were lovely. Overall, it’s a peaceful and pleasant place to stay. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Ubud!

Some rooms don’t face the courtyard and instead look into the reception area. Fortunately, we were able to switch rooms after the first day. Had we stayed in one of these rooms for the entire duration, our experience might not have been as enjoyable.

Fast check-in. Welcome drink. Clean pool with different depth levels. Tea at 5 o'clock with dessert. Very tasty dinner. Excellent choice for breakfast and it was very tasty. Daily cleaning. Tea, coffee, daily water in glass bottles in the room. Clean bed linen, towels. Good water pressure, cold and hot, in the shower. Everything as described, only better. I would like to thank all the staff, especially Ayu for the wonderful feeling of home, Dewa for the absence of problems, Nengah for the perfectly prepared breakfasts and dinners.

Hotel makes you feel like living in a jungle. Wll designed with nice swimming pool and tasty breakfasts. Staff really welcoming and always ready to help. You can rent a bike (from 100.000 per day) right at reception

Quite away from cafes and activities. Also ask for a quite room if you are a light sleeper. As there is very early awaeking cock, which starts screaming at 5-30 :)

I had the absolute pleasure of staying at Merak Village in Ubud and it was an experience I will always cherish. Nestled in a beautifully serene and lush natural setting, the hotel offers a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature that is carefully maintained and thoughtfully designed. Every corner feels like a hidden sanctuary. My room was spotless, clean, and perfectly organized every day, which made my stay all the more relaxing and enjoyable. It’s clear that the staff takes great pride in their work, and it reflects in every detail. Speaking of the staff, I cannot say enough about their kindness and attentiveness throughout my stay. A special thank you to Doni, whose warmth and dedication to great customer service truly stood out, and to Dewa, the butler, for going above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed. Two highlights of my stay were the cooking class with Chef Dewa, where I learned how to make Nasi Campur and Dadar Gulung. It was such a fun and engaging experience—he encouraged me to experiment with ingredients and patiently guided me through each step and technique with so much care. The second unforgettable moment was the Canang Sari workshop, which gave me a deeper appreciation for Balinese culture and traditions. Creating the offerings by hand was both peaceful and enlightening. I truly enjoyed every moment of my time at Merak Village. Thank you to everyone who made my stay so special. I wish you all long, happy lives and hope to return someday soon.

Merak Village by Prasi is nestled in a quiet location with convenient access to major tourist attractions via Grab or Gojek. The staff are both friendly and discreet. You can book all activities at the property at great prices, and I had an unforgettable experience in a cooking class where I learned about the ingredients for the famous Indonesian "Nasi goreng" with Senior Chef Dewa Gede Sastrawan, thanks to Dewa Made who encouraged me to join. The restaurant offers the tastiest dishes I've had in Ubud, all at very reasonable prices. Thank you, Merak Village—I’ll definitely return on my next trip to Bali.
