Beautiful hotel in the heart of Uluwatu, short distance from the beaches. The staff were very attentive and friendly and the food was delicious. I also loved the room with a small private pool, felt like a little oasis! The space is lovely and zen. Would highly recommend.

You need a scooter to get around or you can use grab/gojek - it is not really walkable due to the narrow roads. This wasn’t a problem as there are lots of options and there are places close to the hotel. Not a downside to the hotel but more an fyi to future visitors!

Fabulous stay. Rooms lovely , spacious and comfortable. Private pools really nice and refreshing. Main pool great with super comfy loungers. Location great. 8 min walk to bingin beach yet away from busy roads. Amazing restaurants within 5 mins in car/bike. Restaurant amazing. Staff lovely. Would 100% recommend.

Nothing. Only thing I would suggest is decent hairdryers! The ones in room were absolutely useless! Maybe provide bath robes?

Love the bungalows. Have stayed previously and love how much the gardens have grown beautifully. Staff incredibly kind. Food, delicious, beds so compfy.

Shower overflows. Arm chairs on outside balcony not really practical, could use balcony space a lot better with different furniture. Shallow walk in end of pool used to be white when it first opened. It's now brown, paints come off, makes pool look a lot less appealing compared to what it used to look like. Seems like an easy fix. Sunbeds comfortable but white and showing a lot of mouldy spots unfortunately. Very over priced for what it is and considering breakfast is not included.

The ambience of Gypsea is wonderful - always peaceful and quiet. The food was always delicious and the kitchen/ wait staff were very warm and friendly. We stayed in the 2 bedroom villa which was lovely and private. As others have mentioned, this villa backs onto a ‘farm’ and so the animal noises are fairly consistent, day and night. The cockerels are particularly loud. Didn’t bother us but has bothered others. Another thing to note about this villa is that it comprises 3 completely separate rooms…. So I would say it is unsuitable for families with young children as they would have to be locked into their bedroom. The furnishings and amenities were all lovely. Rooms smelled a little damp but I think that’s a Bali thing. We paid over $400 Australian per night for the villa so it was disappointing that tea/coffee was not replenished during our 5 night stay. Additionally, it was my husbands birthday and I requested for something to be left on his bed…. This was noted in the diary and…… nothing! For the money we paid I expect better customer service from the Managers - although friendly, none of them were passionate or engaging. We stayed at Sukcinta one night for a fraction of the price of Gypsea and the Manager (Ika) there was amazing - present, engaging, proactive, friendly… Gypsea needs someone like Ika to sort out the customer service and lead from the front.

We booked another Villa which we didn‘t like! So we checked out and Gypsea Bali was our alternative. We styed at the two bedroom Villa and this was stunning. The atmosphere in the lobby was so calm and relaxing and typical balinese. We were welcomed in such a positive way! the staff was absolutely friendly and efficient. Furthermore we received a welcome drink! And our vacation started right away! The villa was absolutely clean and equipped with everything you need for a perfect holiday! Nespresso machine, bath amenities, water kettle and super comfy beds, an oversized pool and a beautiful terrace. Staff in the restaurant was phenomenal friendly and helpful! Food was fantastic, beakfast until 12 o‘clock, which can also be delivered to the Vila. Problems do not exist here! If something is wrong, you will directly get assistance. Special Thank you to Gabi, one of the owners! She recommended us so many „Must see‘s“ in Uluwatu and took us with her private car to the beach, because she didn‘t want us to miss the beautiful sunset! We felt so comfortable that we extended our stay and stayed here longer than expected! Thank you to everyone who made this stay a perfect one! We will definitely come back and we can absolutely recommend this place!

Loved this place! The hotel was small, boutique feel, nice and quiet but with great service, The staff were very attentive. The room was perfectly clean, nicely decorated, nice linen and just had everything you could need. Loved having our own little deck and plunge pool. The main pool is also really nice and clean and the staff are really attentive. Food and drink - Great coffee. We had lunch here one day and ordered off the local menu and it was some of the best food we had in bali!

Gypsea is well-located and central, but slightly off the main strip so it's nice and quiet. Stunning gardens are lush and add privacy. Staff (including reception, restaurant, bar, kitchen & room and garden maintenance) are exceptional - warm, professional and attentive. The food and drinks were delicious. Indonesian music plays in the foyer and restaurant morning which is really nice. The pool is sparkling clean. The rooms are comfortable and super-clean too.

Noise. Reviews were correct, there’s lots of animal noises as the 2BR villa is at the back near the farm with cats, dogs and roosters making their sounds all night. If you’re after serenity this is not for you. Felt it was a little overpriced for what we got compared to other properties we’d stayed at in the area the weeks previous.

I did a lot of research before deciding what to book and this property is truly a hidden gem. The hotel is carefully designed and decorated with Balinese details and decorations with a modern twist. The staff is amazing and very caring. We also used the restaurant a lot and couldn’t recommend it enough. Tasty meals with very affordable prices. I had read some reviews about the noise during the but we didn’t have any issues sleeping. Location is also great, and very easy to access the main attractions of uluwatu by car or bike. If you are looking for a quiet aesthetic place this is the one for you.

I wish i stayed one day more to enjoy the pool

Staff were amazing, treated us like family and were great with our daughter. Room and facilities were perfect and well thought out. The area can be quite busy and Gypsea is the perfect calming retreat from the chaos. The food in the restaurant was excellent. The drinks were delicious. Scooter rental was easy and getting around was a breeze. Location is perfect. Couldn't recommend Gypsea more and will try to stay again in the future. Special thank you to Ardy, Wita, Muliawa, Herry, Mutu and the rest of the staff!
