Breakfast was excellent and even though we had to pay, we had reduced rates as guest residents. We were happy to stay for the evening meals. Overall staff were lovely and The Bush Hotel has historical significance. Our room was lovely, but I feel there could be more room with walk in showers, for those with mobility issues.

The computers at reception could be improved, as when we were checking out one of the computers stated, we "still owed for a meal." Fortunately, the computer operated by the other colleague stated we said. Unfortunately, this created stress for my wife and I, as well as creating tension with the the receptionist at the desk.

The location was great. The hotel generally pretty comfortable. The olde worked atmosphere and the mini museum was a bonus. The room was a very generous size and was comfortable enough with two exceptions… see below.

The head of the shower was missing so the water came out in a jet. When we complained, we were, to their credit offered another room, but we were already settled in. They said they would fix the shower when we went out. Only after our second request was the shower head fixed and then it worked well for our last night. The bed / mattress seemed a little worn and tended to sag a bit towards the middle

The location off hotel is Ideal , Great value for money..Carrick on shannon beautiful town, pity weather was so miserable.., Beautiful restaurant across street buffalo Boy 🐃 fabulous burgers and sticky toffee pudding. The room was warm and cosy had massive family room, lovely bath and shower🚿 Teas coffees and biscuits. Lovely wee coffee shop "The Cake Away" on main street fabulous home bakes Enjoyed our Trip to loughkey forest also. Will return in Summer ☀️

The steps so many Steps 🫣🫣 I had a toddler and pushchair, steps to toilets , bar, restaurant, bedrooms bit off a nightmare. Sweating just getting to and from room no lifts...

Staff were brilliant throughout our short stay. The Mr Collins room where we stayed was atmospheric and oldie worldie, the same room Michael Collins stayed in during those heady Irish independent days. You could nearly feel his presence! The location in the main street of Carrick was perfect. The restaurant, Di Vino , was just around the corner, and the food was excellent where the wine list was superb and the owner, Ivan, a true Napolitan gentleman. When we next come to Carrick, we'll do it all again, including our two pints of Guinness at Mc Hughes and Cryan's pubs, where the staff, and pints, were exceptional

The convenience of the hotel, really close to all the bars, really liked the history and memorabilia scatter throughout the hotel, the breakfast was really nice we had a small irish and the beds where very comfortable, the lady who check us in was very nice and friendly, we would stay again

Room was abit dated and had abit of signs of wear and tear but didn't affect our stay as it is only a Base we weren't in it for very long, the only other thing is maybe the night porter needs to have both guest names on his list as he only had mine and couldn't confirm my husband was with me without checking at the desk first, luckily the lady who checked us in was still there and could confirm my husband was with me, it was all very quick and efficient though.

The room was perfect we did not have breakfast as we were on the road early we did have a drink in the bar and this was very enjoyable although just one lady on the bar serving meals taking orders etc so we had to wait quite a while to get served but she did apologise for keeping us waiting, also on Tuesday morning i went to reception to ask for some more milk to have a coffee in my room and the lady on reception got me a small jug of fresh milk, very helpful staff

We had to change the date of our arrival because of weather conditions and this was no problem. I informed the hotel prior to our stay that we were celebrating our anniversary. Our room was upgraded free of charge. No.(62). The room was one of the best and most comfortable rooms that we have ever stayed in. The bathroom was wonderful, it had a great shower and a jacuzzi bath for your convenience. WOW!!. Thank you bush hotel for helping us have a wonderful and unforgettable anniversary. We will be back. 10/10.

hotel well located on Main street, bit dated in reception area but rooms were excellent. very clean throughout the hotel. Breakfast is great and good variety on offer, had Sunday dinner in the Bistro but not to the same standard as breakfast. only disappointment for us was that the main bar was closed, bar service is available in bistro but not suitable to have a quiet and lacked atmosphere. Drink however plenty of bars in the town. would recommend this hotel.

Breakfast was very good and staff were brilliant. Not a good sign though of cartons of juice (kaluna) in the fridge to refill the jugs as you are offering fresh juice (which should be at the price)..hide the cartons! Also no yogurt available ..otherwise lovely breakfast and very attentive staff.

Paying what we did for 1 night and having to negotiate buggys and meeting people in lifts with nightwear (dressing gown) was quite surprising to say the least! Everyone has an entitlement to accomodation i accept but when paying for the privilege expect certain standards.

This is a lovely characterful hotel right in the centre of town with- 200+ years of Carrick-on-Shannon History with the photos all around the walls of the hotel. Our room was enormous with a very comfortable bed and bathroom and great parking as part of the property - no charge.

Evening meals in the cozy dining room could have stayed open later -but there are plenty of options in the town if you need to eat later.
