Breakfast was amazing, with several different choices and combinations of foods, allowing a nice amount of individual tailoring. I recommend the Hawaiian Toast! There was also a generous selection of cereals, delicious brown bread, also white bread and flapjacks. The breakfast room had plenty of seating in various capacities, and the large window overlooked a charming garden which added to the tranquility. The cleanliness was outstanding.

Everything was just to our liking. We even had a fan in our room (not an absolute requirement but certainly a desirable luxury!) The rooms in the house were very well insulated against any outside noises.

Everything was sparkling clean and the rooms were exceptionally quiet for sleeping. Breakfast was delicious and very generous with pots of hot coffee.The owner Sile Callaghan was friendly, welcoming and clearly enjoys meeting her guests.

The B&B is on the road and not what I would consider “walkable”. However, my group did indeed walk to Biddy's O'Barnes, a real Irish pub not too far along the same road as The Gap B&B. Our dinner was excellent and the atmosphere was excellent.

We were met with a warm welcome by Sile at The Gap Lodge B&B. This B&B strikes a nice balance between being absolutely spotless while also feeling very homely. Regardless of being located on a busy road, with the windows closed you hear nothing. It is obvious that Sile is well experienced in hospitality and she takes pride in what she does. She also makes time for her guests and is the perfect host.

The owner was very welcoming, the room was nice and the breakfasts very good and filling. The location was ideal. I got from there to the Slieve League cliffs early enough for there only to be a handful of people there. A simple roundabout exit meant I could bypass Donegal town if necessary and could get a quick exit towards Derry. But it’s also just 10km from Donegal town. It’s a nice area. I got to see more of Donegal than I expected

An extremely welcoming and serene overnight stay....road noise was definitely NOT an issue. Very comfortable ensuited room. Delicious hot breakfast, especially the savoury scrambled eggs served in a delightful breakfast room. Guest lounge available as well as list of local numbers for any emergency. Excellent local bistro 2 mins away or 10 mins into Donegal for greater choice for evening meals. On site free parking.

Nothing...all was great.

The property is just off the main road so no problem spotting it. There is plenty of parking here and some pretty planting. The location is away from Donegal town so you need to drive to any eateries. We had a warm welcome and were shown around the property which has a couple of sitting rooms for guests use, such a great bonus. A good size bright and airy breakfast room with a fridge available for use too. You place your order for hot food from the menu the evening before and give an idea of the time you would like it. Our room was at the back away from any traffic noise with a view of the hill behind. There was enough space for us to be comfortable and all we needed, including a hospitality tray. The en suite was nice and bright with lovely fluffy towels, perfect after using the good shower. The beds were comfortable. Everywhere was spotless and it felt very homely. The rooms were well heated and you could adjust the temperature to suit yourself. We really appreciated being able to relax for the evening in a comfy sitting room. After a good sleep we enjoyed our breakfast, you certainly won't go hungry! I couldn't believe the portion of eggs and hot salmon I was given. This is on our list of places to return to.

Very minor individual thing but I found the pillows too hard.

The Gap Lodge B&B is the perfect spot to explore Donegal and its surrounds, and Síle is a wonderful host, who made us feel right at home 😄 The room was excellent, spotlessly clean, and the beds made for a good night's sleep 😇 The breakfast was amazing, with a great selection to choose from 🤩 We had a lovely stay, and we'll be sure to come back 😀 Don't hesitate in booking with Síle and The Gap Lodge B&B, you won't regret it 😁

The Lodge is located next to the main road just a couple of minutes from Donegal. It has its own private parking. The room was modern, very warm and all we needed for a one night stay. In case of feeling cold, there was a heater available for the bed as well. Breakfast was delicious with a variety of choices. The host was the most wonderful, she was super helpful with suggestions and all in all a really pleasant person. I would definetely recommend staying here.

Everything was perfect.

Hot Breakfast was a choice off a menu. Also included fruit yogurt and cereal and toast. She also provided chilled bottled water. Very well fed by a lovely hostess! She drove us to the only local pub and back because we were afraid to drive in the dark on that fast highway. She also repaired my mistake of booking a double room instead of a twin.

It was on a 100kph highway so a little dicey negotiating the turnoff.

Our host is a pro. She has run this place for many years and really knows what she is doing. Her breakfast are absolutely incredible. They are served at whatever time you want them and the choice is spectacular. The property itself is beautifully maintained and clean and nothing is too much trouble to our host. Parking is readily available and the town is only a short distance away along the main road.

There is nothing to dislike about the property.
