Beautiful view overlooking the sea

Sandhouse is an elegant grand hotel on the stunning Rossnowlagh Beach. The beach is amazing, the hotel is amazing, the staff couldn't have been nicer, wonderful restaurant. Everything about Sandhouse reflects the best traditions of old world charm and elegance. Miles of wood paneling and art deco antiques. The view from our room covered the vast beach and surf, which at low tide seems to stretch forever into Donegal Bay, and at high tide comes crashing onto the rocks below our window. Donegal is not on everyone's trip-to-Ireland itinerary, but if your travels do take you near Donegal ... holy cow, stay at the Sandhouse.

The location was beautiful overlooking the beach and the view from our room was beautiful. The staff were friendly. Although the hotel isn’t modern it had character with lots of indoor comfortable seating areas. The food was excellent served by friendly helpful staff with a beautiful view over the ocean. Would definitely stay again. I also visited the Spa for a treatment and I have to say it was one of the best massages and facials I have had the therapist Noreen was excellent would highly recommend

It’s not really a dislike more a suggestion but as there are no shops within walking distance maybe a vending machine in the public bar with sweets / Chocolate

We were able to check in 1 hour early, which was greatly appreciated after a long car journey. We were allocated a large, comfortable room with fanstastic views of the Atlantic Ocean. The tables in the restaurant were formally arranged, with crisp white linen table cloths. Good selection on the menu for both breakfast and dinner. The restaurant had great views of the ocean. There was a nice bar in the hoteal, with a large beer garden. Excellent location - close to Donegal town and other local attractions, easy acess to the beach and within walking distance of the Smugglers Creek Inn. Very helpful and friendly staff. The hotel had a nice 'traditional' feel to it, with a personal touch from staff, not like the impersonal service experienced in many corporate run hotels.

Absolutely stunning location right on a beautiful sandy beach. Visited out of season so it was lovely and quiet. Oldy worldy cosy hotel with the biggest bed we have ever seen! Paid for seaview. Lovely relaxing setting.

Windows in the room could have been cleaner to get the most from the beautiful view

Amazing location. Wonderful sit down breakfast. Great seating options for bar. Whether a couple. A group or a single. Great location to use as the command post while you take daily road trips OR can just hang at the beach all day. Lovely Spa next door. Check out Smugglers notch up the hill for dinner. Plus the view!!! The views are awesome. ❤️

This gorgeous stately hotel sits right at the beach, views are unparalleled, the food is delicious, service is gracious and professional. I traveled for a month and this was my favorite place to stay.

Location, sea views of sunset stunning. Friendly staff, fantastic food and comfortable clean room. Lovely relaxed atmosphere with lots of nooks and crannys to hide out. Already planning our return visit.... with more family. Keep up the great effort 👌

Young friendly staff could do with a little more serving etiquette to compliment the 5-star food, but that is me struggling to find something amiss

This is not a brand new facility. It is beach front hotel that has many years of service so not up to modern standards

The setting for this hotel is amazing . The rooms were very spacious and clean. The view from the window and the sound of the sea was incredible.. we had breakfast and it is made to order and was delicious. The staff were always were very attentive throughout the hotel.

Just the pillows but that's a personal preference. The beds otherwise we're very comfortable..
