I only had coffee and juice at breakfast. The most rare and wonderful thing is to stay in an ancient building with glorious frescoes. Ilaria, whose family has owned the house for over 200 years, has furnished and decorated the rooms with taste and distinction. And she provided a very warm and caring welcome.

It was very hard to find a taxi to get to the station. That is not to do with the property but it was certainly a consideration for me, as I was concerned that I wouldn’t make my train. It was a holiday weekend which wouldn’t have helped.

Starting our Italian holiday with Iliana at her beautiful palazzo near the center of Bologna was perfect. Our room was enormous, with frescoes on the ceiling and a very comfortable bed. Noises from the street were totally silenced, making for a wonderful rest at night. Iliana's gracious welcoming and her lovely breakfasts started off each day, and she had tips for restaurants and museums and other sites that were just right for our needs. Three minutes away was an excellent restaurant, Cesarina, that we went to twice. Plus, there is a gelateria nearby that is so good that our food tour went there. You will love your stay at Casa Zucchini and want to book a return trip as you check out.

This was an opportunity to stay in a small family run hotel in a palazzo in the historic part of Bologna, within an easy walk of restaurants and the main attractions. The bedrooms and bathrooms were a generous size. We enjoyed being able to open and walk through an imposing heavy old wooden door to enter the palazzo - it was like walking through history. Very good value for the price of the room.

Ilaria is a lovely host. She was very welcoming and helpful with suggestions for places to eat and with getting a taxi to take us to the airport. Her breakfast was very good with a nice selection of items including gluten free for one person in our group. The rooms are spacious and the beds are very comfortable. There is a nice sitting room and breakfast room and plenty of space in this historic and charming B&B.

Rooms were a little dark and some areas looked like they needed a good sweep or wiping down. Hot water was spotty. But having said this, the positives including Ilaria herself, far outweighed these small negatives.

The accommodation was quiet and the bed comfortable. Everywhere was clean and well-presented. The property is wonderfully historic and well-cared for with delightful decor of quality and taste. Ilaria is a lovely host who prepares an excellent continental breakfast.

There is little not to like about this place. The facility for a bath rather than just a shower may be appreciated by some, as it would have done by us. Continental breakfasts are fine but an improvement would be to offer some cooked breakfasts as well.

Our stay at Casa Zucchini was perfect!!! The location of the house is very central and easily accessible to Bologna center. The room, bed and facilities are very comfortable and clean. What differentiates this room and property from other places to stay are the welcoming nature of the hosts. From the stunning breakfasts, to local knowledge of the best restaurants to eat at is simply brilliant. We will 100% be back to Bologna and will definitely be staying back at Casa Zucchini. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 🤌

Everything about the place was wonderful: the room was spacious and spotless and I appreciated the attention to detail. I really enjoyed breakfast; it was my first time staying in a B&B and it couldn’t have been a nicer experience. And Ilaria, the host, was absolutely lovely. I’d come back anytime!

Beautifully restored family home with generous bedrooms and amazing murals on ceilings. Comfortable bed and good bathroom. Fantastic breakfast with lovely helpful host.

Some road noise but quiet at night. Lost the hot water on our last night so cold showers.

The casa was beautiful and cool inside (especially helpful in June when Bologna got a bit hotter than usual, and without using the available aircon unit yet), full of history. Room was huge for a single traveller but I am not complaining.

Excellent location, short walking distance to the plaza Maggiore. Comfortable bed with adjoining room. Huge room with high ceiling and classic marble floors. Owner prepared a nice breakfast with homemade muffins. I’m a foodie so this location offered many selections. The owners recommended restaurants were excellent!
