Personally my staying at this hotel was nice from the very first second - starting with the help with my suitcase, preparing 2 cups of espresso that were offered and the story of this building that were told while the check-in, and ending with the showing everything around with no feelings you can't touch anything or look at it (as, obviously, the building itself is a masterpiece). Regarding the negative reviews, I would add that this hotel is not for everyone for sure. The strong side of it was it's unique design and saved traditions of the real Sicily you barely see now just walking outside. I can potentially understand the reasons of the noises, business and other issues different people were mentioned staying during the "touristic season", though my staying had common nothing with these issues. It was quiet, clean, with tasty breakfast and sometimes unlimited cups of coffee and little talks with the owner. The personal attitude was an additionally nice thing I liked about that place as you can consider the attraction of the country and culture mainly through the local people's prism. A specific Italian patio with elevator, local trees and statues, croissants, espresso, conversations in the morning, wonderful "devil in the details" design and and the statue of angels installed on the balcony are the extra type of guilty pleasure. A perfect place for aesthetic person or the one who would prefer to stay closer to the Sicilian culture :)

I haven't noticed any

It was such a beautiful property we stayed at. The people who worked at the B&B were very kind and helpful. The breakfast there was delicious and I believe homemade everyday; it included cornetti, different cheeses, jam, yogurt, and good coffee. The dining room area was truly beautiful to sit in, and I got to get some work done in the morning there which was enjoyable. The room itself was not as grand (but it is hard to compete with the dining room area), but still very nicely decorated and with A/C.

One thing was that the rooms themselves had very thin walls. Generally speaking this did not prove to be a problem for us at night, but on our first day right after we checked in our room was full of noise from other rooms (TV on loud, people in the next room loudly discussing plans, etc.)

It’s a very good place and unbelievable experience. Historic beautiful house with a lift, you stay like in a castle but same time like at home thanks to welcoming owner Sergio. The location is perfect — modern rich part of the city, safe area, metro and bus station are very close, or 30 min by walk to the city centre or seaside, 2 supermarkets around. All room are nice and fancy, with high ceiling and windows, and AC. There are options for a single, couple or family/group of people. You have to be ready that building is old so there can be some difficulties with furniture or plumbing. Thanks Klaudia for always clean and Italian breakfasts (coffee and sweets). There is wonderful fresh juices made in their own machine. My staying there was wonderful and I will come back with a pleasure. Thank you for everything! Good luck!

My dream of staying in a noble home came true staying here! We had the queen room with external bathroom that is down the hall. This is an old noble home so bathrooms won't always be in the room and that worked perfectly fine for us. The home is absolutely beautiful in the baroque style, it was a museum! The caretaker was very sweet and made us espressos upon arrival and in the morning. We were given a ticket for cornetti and cappuccinos at the next door cafe which was great. For the price and beauty of the home, no one should complain.

Nothing, we loved everything!

The flat is full of history, with its luxurious scuptures and painting. The living and dining rooms are just amazing. Rooms furnitures are authentic. Our host Biagio is very nice and welcoming. He also helped us with the paper administration when we got a parking fine. Talking about parking: Catania is quite a busy city but after working hours, you will have no difficulties finding a blue parking spot next to the B&B. Biagio prepared us very good breakfasts, every day with different cakes and fresh juices. Biagio is very keen on making sure we have everything we need. There is an elevator which helps when you have big luggages or have difficulties climbing stairs. The flat is not at the heart of old Catania but in a modern and wealthy neighbourhood. The metro station is just a few minutes away from the flat.

The B&B is located in a nice neighborhood, at a walkable distance of 20 minutes from the historic center. The interior is spectacular, even if the decoration is a bit overwhelming. The host was extremely nice and welcoming.

The private bathroom was not located in the proximity of the room, but at the end of a narrow corridor, next to the entrance.. The bathroom was clean, but the shower is very small. Breakfast was basic and rather poor.

Very atmospheric place. Good value for a money. Staff is very friendly, speaks only italian but it is not a problem since lot of words on a breakfast table are international. I highly recommend to pay extra money for a breaakfast. It was very tasty and different every morning. The owner speaks english very well and it was not a problem to arrange the breakfast a half hour earlier when we went for a trip to Etna in the morning.

We ordered a room with a three separated beds but there was a double bed and one separated bed. The air conditioner was leaking after some time of usage and made a puddle in the room floor.

Beautiful apartment unlike anything else we have stayed in before. Maria was very helpful and easy to contact. Our bed was comfortable and it was not a problem that the bathroom was a short way down the hallway. Breakfast was at a cafe next door which was lovely. Other reviews hsve said the location is not good. We enjoyed the local eateries and it is only a short bus ride to the centre of the old city.

Truly extraordinary apartment. We recommend this place :)
