The location is fabulous with lots of places to eat and visit within walking distance. The main road takes you straight into the heart of Catania with lots of sites along the way. The room was clean and AC worked well. The hotel reception staff were excellent: friendly and very helpful with maps, tips etc.

Parking is tricky - read the road signs carefully. I manged to get 3 days of street parking for free. There is the option of private car parks at €20-25 per night. It is a bit noisy at times. There's a courtyard next to the hotel and that has some traffic through it. Hence the slight downgrade.

Hotel is well positioned with easy access by public transport from either station or airport. It has an unassuming street entrance and a call button to gain entry. Don't be put off! Take the lift to reception and enter a different world. The staff are all very helpful especially Simone & Anastasia in reception. Breakfast has good choices and there is plenty. Eating it on the terrace with the trees in blossom is idyllic. The photo is accurate. The rooms are all airy with beautifully decorated ceilings and throughout the hotel there is interesting art work; it's like being in a miniature gallery! This hotel is a hidden jewel.

Nothing about the hotel, but be prepared for mosquitoes in Catania!

Location: Ideal for exploring Catania! Right next to the Chiosco della Musica, 5 minutes’ walk from Piazza Stesicoro and about 10 minutes from Piazza del Duomo. Surrounded by great restaurants and attractions. It’s also just a 20-minute walk from Catania Centrale train station if you prefer walking instead of taking a bus or taxi. Staff: The receptionists were exceptional — kind, friendly, and always ready to help with tips on what to see and where to eat. Their hospitality made my stay feel very welcoming. Room: Spacious, clean, and well-equipped with more amenities than I needed. Even the bathroom was roomy, which was a big plus. My room opened onto the common balcony, yet it was quiet and peaceful — I slept like a baby every night.

The elevator is the traditional old-style kind, with an extra inner door. It can be a bit unusual at first, especially with luggage, but it’s totally manageable. Since I was on the second floor, I mostly enjoyed using the stairs and only needed the elevator for my bags.

I had a good impression of the hotel. I stayed for just three days. The biggest advantage is the location and the price. The hotel is conveniently located for getting to the main attractions, there’s a lovely park nearby, and a Lidl within walking distance. Yes, the room and the bed are small, but I only came back to the room in the evening, so it didn’t affect my overall experience. The bathroom was clean, the air conditioning worked well, I kept it on overnight and closed the windows to keep the mosquitoes out. For my short trip, this hotel was a perfect fit.

It was a pleasure to arrive at a hotel and find our receptionist Giulia greeted us with a big smile, and she was very helpful and it was the perfect start to our holiday. We paid the extra for our breakfast which was very good (they even bought coffee yoghurt for me, after I enquired if they had any) The staff always had a big smile and were very friendly. There is also a delightful terrace for breakfast which overlooks the park for the summer months. Our single rooms were nice and clean and ideal for our stay. The location was really good, as it was right by the delightful gardens of Villa Bellini and the pedestrian road of Via Etnea, filled with shops which leads down to the Cathedral and main tourist areas of Catania.

The hotel is clean and staff are very friendly. Located in via etnea, and there is the bus stop to the airport just 2 mins walk from the hotel entrance. The breakfast is good and you can enjoy it in the terrace facing Villa bellini. It consist of sweet food mainly. We were able to leave our luggage at the hotel before check in and after check out, which was very helpful as we were able to roam around Catania freely. The hotel has a reception which is available for very long hours and is very helpful, you do not usually find hotels in Catania with late reception This was our first time at Hotel Agathae, but will definitely return again.

There was lift in the building, but most of the time we ended using the stairs, as it is very small.

The location is great - right next to Villa Bellini on main street. Room was small but charming and very comfortable, bathroom was very ok. I liked ornaments on the ceiling and very friendly staff.

The balcony door that led to the common balcony was very hard to close properly and in my opinion not very secure.

Nice hotel in handy location for main part of town. Contrary to what Google tells me the airport Alibus drops you off practically outside. Pay attention, the front door is a bit hard to notice. Our room was double storey which was fun. Plenty of breakfast options so add it to your booking. 24hr reception is great and seemed quite rare for similarly priced hotels in the area. The staff were all great. Vending machine in the lobby with beer.

One of the best on our 6 week European holiday.

First impressions were of the staff at reception, everyone was warm and welcoming. The hotel is smack in the middle of Catania, so the Alibus is right there, I was arriving from Taromina so I came from the central bus station, which is a simple fifteen minutes walk. The facilities were well kept and the price was a good value Pro tip: I had to leave the hotel at 04:30 because I had an early flight and I did not want to take any chances so the girl at the front desk said that time in the morning, the price is €45 as supposed to half the price or take the bus during normal hours,booking.com listed £41 I said is Uber available and she said I don't think so, in front of her I went to Uber and booked a ride, yes it was available and the cost was €40.

It seems like there is lots of live music, however I went out to eat around those hours, so no biggie for me. When I came back to my room, the music was done.

I really had the best stay. Everyone working there is just SO NICE! There were lots of different people working at the reception and EVERYONE was really nice and happy to help with whatever question I had. The location of the hotel is amazing and close to whatever you would like to see. HUGE recommendation

The breakfast could have a little more options and the coffee was really not that great
