We have spent few days in Mavá at the end of March, so outside the main tourist season. Mavá is a small boutique hotel (4 rooms or so) located in a 2-floor building. The whole building seems to be only small hotels or rental apartments. At the ground floor there is a reception and a dining room for all guests. The personnel were super friendly and welcomed us with a smile every morning. I liked our quadruple room with comfortable beds, lots of towels and daily cleaning. From our balcony we could see a part of Etna. The location of this hotel is great for families with smaller kids - there is a direct connection from the airport with Alibus, a beautiful park with a nice playground around the corner and it is close to the old town. There is a common room with a small kitchen corner, sofa and TV. I enjoyed breakfast with freshly brewed coffee and croissants very much. There could be more healthy options such as fresh veggies or sugar free yoghurt for kids. On the other hand some of the hotels facilities such as the bathroom and kitchen need renovation. The dishwasher in the common room was not emptied by anyone so the dishes from previous guests were still there. Not sure what was the dishwasher policy there but we used to wash our dishes per hand then. Our room was on a corner of a loud street, it was quite loud till ca 11 PM and from 6 am. Apparently I was the only family member who could not sleep well because of the traffic noise, so it is probably an individual thing.

The rooms are spacious with comfortable beds and a nice size bathroom. Valentina was so sweet and helpful during our 5 night stay, she even ordered us pizza for our last night as we had an early flight out and were tired from our day. Breakfast was both sweet & savory- pasteries and meats & cheeses and an excellent way to start our days. The location is an easy stroll to the city center and we still are amazed at the value of this place! Highly recommend!

My only complaint was that my room door was in the lobby so I could hear all the guests come in and out, so I would just suggest to ask for a room off the lobby if possible. But I did have a balcony overlooking the main street that made up for it!

It was a wonderful hotel with super friendly staff (most of them didn't speak a lot of English, but we managed to communicate through the people that did, through whatsapp, through translator)! They are incredibly forthcoming and helpful. The rooms are beautiful and get cleaned every day, even if they didn't have a whole lot of storage. The breakfast is prepared fresh with good coffee, fresh fruit, various baked goods etc. The location is very central - in just a couple of minutes on foot you're on via etnea, which is the central street of Catania with shopping etc. Just around the corner is a wonderful street with dozens of great restaurants. You're in the "city centre" with the basilica in about 20 minutes foot walk. There's bus stops all around, and the train main station (where trains to Siracusa, Taormina and Palermo leave, for example) is also just about 20 minutes on foot away (or a short bus ride).

The breakfast is typically italian, so it's a lot of pastries/sweet stuff. The only savory food are some antipasti sort of things and toast, but for a couple of days it was definitely okay even if you don't love the pastries.

Our family of 4 sleep here comfortably for 2 nights. It was about a 15 minute walk to the center and next to the main city park. Some shopping and restaurants within a 5 minute walk as well. The breakfast has many choices of breads and cakes and was attended very well.

Breakfast could have been longer - at least until 10am. There was no pay at the hotel option when I reserved and had to pay for the entire stay upfront.

Great location, made us feel safe enough ;). A very clean, quiet place with quality services! We loved it very much and appreciated the kindness and amiability of our hosts. They are people that make your trip and your days beautiful and want to go back there, even just for them. The window opened to the street, but it had surprinsingly good noise isolation. The room was a bit small, but cleverly set up. Breakfast nicely served each morning.

Modern clean apartment in the centre of Catania...2 mins away from Via Etnea. Bathroom was good sized, with large modern shower. Room had a balcony. lift. and delicious breakfast. you will see us again!

The location is very convenient in the centre of Catania. Everything is within walking distance. There was a vast assortment of food and beverages for breakfast. The staff is very kind and helpful. The self-check-in worked fine. The room and bathroom were clean.

The WiFi connection may need some improvement

Staff was very warm and friendly, I felt very comfortable there, breakfast is amazing, room is well equipped, I loved my stay there, they provided me hot iron, free water in the floor, they booked us a very good vulcano trip

we had some noisy neighbours, the doors are bit thin, some small water stains on the ceiling, room cleaner forgot some cleaning stuff, we found solutions to communicate via translator app ;)

The beds were really comfortable and I really like full covering curtains in windows so we had good sleep:) We spent there only one night but I wouldn't mind to stay more. Location is also good- close to the lovely street with good restaurants and in 3-4 min walking distance you can visit a botanical garden :) People, who work there are really helpful- they helped us find parking and other things in the city.

When you want to open the window it's really noisy outside, but it was the one and only bad thing about the place in my opinion.

The breakfast was just amazing with fresh juice, coffee and different kinds of croissants and cakes. We were travelling with sick kid and everyone in the hotel was helpful and nice. I recommend this accommodation.
