We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel! We were cycling around Lake Garda and stayed here for one night. The hotel kindly let us store our bikes in the garage, which was very convenient. Our room was small but very cozy and clean, with two beds, a nice bathroom, air conditioning, and a window with a view of the lake. There was also a TV. The bathroom had lovely organic citrus-scented toiletries — shampoo, soap, and shower gel. You can reach the town of Garda in about 20 minutes on foot along the lakeside promenade (you just need to walk a few minutes along the main road toward Garda, then take the stairs down to the waterfront). There’s also a local beach within a 10-minute walk in the same direction. The staff were very polite and friendly. Breakfast was excellent, with a great selection of snacks and sandwiches, various hams and cheeses, a dessert table, fresh fruit, juices, and coffee with a choice of milks — including almond and oat. There was also delicious citrus-infused detox water, which was very refreshing. The hotel also has a lovely outdoor area with a courtyard where you can relax, as well as a swimming pool. We had a wonderful experience and highly recommend this place!

As for the downsides, I can only mention a few minor things. If, like us, you’re arriving at Lake Garda by train, it may take a bit of time to reach the hotel. We traveled by bike, but if you don’t have a car, taking a bus should be a good option. The hotel is located on a slight hill, so you’ll need to walk uphill for a few minutes — but it’s a short and easy walk. In the room, the hairdryer wasn’t very powerful and mostly blew cold air. I also noticed a few ants on the floor, and there were some mosquitoes in the bathroom, even though we didn’t open the windows. These are just small issues and didn’t affect our overall positive impression of the hotel.

Overall, this hotel is overpriced for what it offers. The building and furniture are extremely outdated — it feels like stepping back into the 1960s. The hotel and elevator, in particular, gave off eerie haunted “The Shining movies” vibes. Also, a hotel should never have a room with the number 13 wherw this had which is creepy. The front desk computer was down due to IT issues, and several guests (myself included) waited around 30 minutes just to get a receipt. I eventually gave up and left without one. Parking is very limited. I had to park at a nearby hotel and walk along a poorly lit, unsafe road. Additionally, there’s a dangerous blind spot at the hotel entrance that makes pulling in or out risky.

From the friendly staff when we arrived to the plentiful breakfast each day it was a perfect stay. The hotel is set back off the main road so fairly quiet and a nice garden area to chill or have breakfast. Our room was ugraded (I think it was because we were staying for 9 nights) so we got one of the more modern rooms. Some guests have said the hotel is a bit dated - welcome to Italy!. As long as the hotel is super clean this never bothers us.

The pool area was a bit small and feels like it was squeezed into the hotel space when it was built so we didnt use it much - but apparently there is a massive lake of water just down the road!!! We didnt have a car but it can be annoying when there are car park charges on top but as you will see parking is a premium around Garda

The hospitality at hotel Gabbiano is above and beyond. We met Christian the hotel manager who helped us in a very bad situation when our car got broken after checkout. He did not only bring us to a car repair shop and managed the translation with the Italian mechanic patiently. In the end he even drove us 1h with all our luggage in his private car to our new hotel without expecting anything in return!!! I cannot express how much friendliness, hospitality and help we experienced in particular from Christian and the whole hotel Gabbiano Team. Highly recommend! Also for the cleaniness, the breakfast and the great location just a few steps from the sea. We will definitively come back and recommend this place to our friends.

Well situated just 5 minutes from central Garda. The room with balcony was lovely. Comfortable beds and view over pool. We used the pool which was great, if a little fresh at this time of year! Staff were really helpful and friendly and the breakfast was extensive and delicious

Everything was good

It is a very peaceful place to stay. Very close to city centre. you can either get there with a 10 minutes walk or they let you a get a bike for a ride. Pool is not to big but enough to refresh. Parking is easy but you need a confirmation for it. If you want to swim in the lake it is also so easy to go to the beach on foot. In the evening it is very quiet and has a lovely lake view.

I’d come back for the breakfast alone - it was brilliant. Another thing I liked were lemon liquid soap, lemon shampoo, and lemon shower gel ❤️ The staff and service was great too. Check in was quick and with jokes ;) we were able to leave our bikes in their garage. Hotel in good location.

Amazing location, with a nice view. The access to the beach is 10 minutes walking. For those who are not traveling by car, the bus stop is 5 minutes walking or you can walk to the city center by 15 minutes walking. Lovely and friendly staff. Especially girls on the reception desk and barista Emanuele. Typical sweet Italian breakfast is included. Swimming pool is also there in the patio. Lovely place,would like to get back here once again.

It all was great. I didn't find any problems while staying there
