I could not have enjoyed my stay more! The staff was lovely, the room comfortable and clean, and the breakfast was delicious. I even saw they had prepared some vegan breakfast items, which is very thoughtful. The location is also second to none. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and certainly hope to be back!

The location is outstanding, in the middle of Ferrara, close to all of the historical sites and buildings, restaurants, etc. The host arranged for parking directly in front of the hotel which was incredible as there are only two spaces that require permits from the city authorities which he arranged on our arrival, completely un-anticipated and without additional cost other than the normal tourist tax. The host at the reception was very congenial and helpful in every way! Great value for the money! As it is in a historic building, there are limitations to what can be done to offer more amenities, but that is its charm!

The breakfast offer was a bit uninspiring.

I was very warmly welcomed when I arrived in the evening and a slightly flickery lightbulb I mentioned was replaced before I got back from dinner. My single room was a good size and with a decent desk and a very comfortable bed; it was immaculately clean. The street was pleasantly quiet, although at the absolute centre of the city. The breakfast room was very attractively decorated and the provision was varied and good. There was a range of gluten-free options. Throughout my stay enjoying Ferrara in an increasingly cold week I knew I would come home to a cosy place and a kindly greeting. The Christmas tree was lovely too! A model lesson in how the personal touch makes all the difference in business.

The tiniest of quibbles: I always prefer a bar of soap to shower gels, but that's just me being old fashioned!

What a beautiful place to stay! We especially liked the art (original paintings, ceramics and sculptures) and the various books on the art in and around Ferrara. Our room was beautiful and there was so much attention to detail. Room service was available and we were able to order a warm drink and a snack which was very welcome. Andrea was the perfect host, very knowledgeable and so kind. He had very helpful suggestions regarding parking and he stored our luggage for us so we could explore Ferrara on foot. The breakfast was exceptional. Freshly made spinach and ricotta tart, a tomato and cheese savoury, various pastries, various cereals, nuts, yoghurt, fresh fruit salad, prunes, ham, cheese, various fruit juices and freshly made cappuccinos. The breakfast was delicious, with excellent home made cakes and cereals, and I appreciated the fresh fruit. The location was excellent: central, and very near most of the main museums. The hotel had a real family feel; it was good value for money and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.

The economy room on the ground floor had a bad smell. Especially when entering the room for the first time, you immediately recognized it coming from the bathroom.

Excellent small hotel decorated with art. A high quality breakfast with superb coffee. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Very close to the center of town, walking to restaurants and sight was easy. I really enjoy staying in smaller, professionally run hotels such as this one, avoiding chain hotels and the often far too quirky AirB&B type options.

Lovely , small traditional Italian hotel close to the centre of Ferrara and its attractions. Located in a quiet street, close to the Este castle. Antonio was a friendly and very helpful owner, obviously taking great pride in his property. Clean, tidy with firm, large beds and a great range of breakfast items available, which was always a pleasure to go down to. There is a small lift for those needing it. Would happily return to this charming hotel.

Specially warm personal touch from the staff. Excellent location, close to any point of interest (except the railway station, which is on the outskirts of the city). Ample and varied breakfast buffet, with above average hand-made cappuccino.

No easy to reach plug close to the writing desk. Window was covered by a drape. I could not figure out how to raise it. Could add nuts and seeds to the breakfast buffet.

This is the best hotel I've ever stayed in, period, and I have had my fair share of the Marriotts and the Hiltons of this world. It is not only perfect all around -- everything is well thought of, equipment is high quality, breakfast is rich and diversified -- but also grant you with a HUMAN experience, thanks to the charming, helpful and noble family who owns and runs the place. You just feel their whole hearted efforts in each and every moment of your stay in the hotel. They are truly phenomenal at what they do, and deserve every word of praise.
