The friendliness of the owners/host. Very kind and sweet people who went out of their way to make sure you had a great stay by giving you advice about beaches, restaurants etc and by just being so lovely. The room was beautiful with a walk in shower and really well cared for. The accommodation was also spotlessly clean and right in the centre of Gallipoli. This meant it was perfect for restaurants, bars and also watching the sunset over the harbour at night. If you are thinking about booking this property do it now as it’s a good find and a great stay in Gallipoli.

An old palace several hundred years old, located right on the main street in the old town of Gallipoli and a few minutes' walk from Spiaggia della Punta, known for its clear water and beautiful sunsets. The recently renovated rooms with Baroque-style furniture give an authentic feel. The location is a good base for a week-long stay if you want to explore the southern part of Puglia (Salento) and the beaches of the Ionian Sea. But the highlight of the property is the two hosts, Ruggero and Maruxa, who ensure everything is clean and the guests are satisfied. I would return anytime with pleasure!

From the moment we booked we had the most helpful amazing contact from our hosts Ruggero & Maruxa. Nothing was to much trouble and we really appreciated the friendly genuine care, we felt like at home! Location is incredible, literally 5 mins and you’re on the gorgeous beach! Maruxa made the most delicious brekky each morning! If only I had two stomachs I could never finish it all, beautiful local produce always on offer. Ruggero went above and beyond with great recommendations, help with parking, organising Tuk tuks, we were so blessed to find this incredible accomodation.

Nothing, we absolutely loved everything!

Everything about my stay at the Palace was absolutely perfect. The beautiful staff are accomodating in every possible way and the energy of both them and the building plus the stunning details in the room made it the best stay I have had in Italy yet. The lamps, mirrors, frames of the tv every little detail was so beautiful and thought out. Having a washing line out of the window was perfect to dry bathers after a day at the beach. You are treated like family & it felt like home. If my home was a castle and I was a princess. I would come back a million times and was sad to leave. It is a 2 minute walk to a beautiful beach, close to the cutest eatery Marale with the loveliest people a few steps down. Everything you need is around you and the historic centre has so much character. All of these things made it so special. A trip I will be remembering this for the rest of my life.

Everything was perfect. The bedroom was very typical and beautiful. There is a rooftop, very good for a break. The breakfast was very good, also typical and big. We recommend sleeping in this palace because it's a great experience. If we have the chance to come back to this city, we want to sleep here again.

Loved everything about our stay at Palazzo Castiglione. Beautiful and very spacious room a few steps from the main cathedral. The breakfast was deliuscious and the hosts very friendly. They gave us excellent tips and recommendations about the city and beaches to visit. The place deserves all the excellent reviews it has. Hope to return back soon!

Maruxa and Ruggero are the perfect hosts, the property is a lovely oasis of calm in the old town, and it's only a minute to the beach. It's a wonderful stay, and I can't fault it (and Maruxa's breakfasts are just another level!)
