The palazzo is like a museum with antiques everywhere! You can sit and enjoy the various sitting rooms which are very elegant. We had a large junior suite with a terrace and it was lovely and so comfortable. Our hostess, Signora Isabella, is very caring and attentive. The garden and terrace are beautiful with masses of trees and plants. It was so nice to sit there in the sun. The location is close to the very impressive Duomo and bars and restaurants. The breakfast has the usual sweets plus yogurt, fruits, cheese, hams. Recommended.

An incredibly unique opportunity to stay in a private home with a long, fascinating history, run by the charming and wonderful owner, Isabella. Found in the beautiful historic center of Lecce, the palazzo is just steps away from museums, cocktail bars, wonderful walks and a fabulous array of dining experiences, and at the end of the day, you return to the warm and welcoming rooms, full of art, legacies and love. … and each morning you are treated to a wonderful spread which Signora Isabella lays out, including freshly baked cakes, fresh fruit, and milky foam to top your steaming cup of coffee.

This was a wonderful place...in an unexpected way! No advertising and visuals on booking site will convey the feeling of coziness you will feel once you arrive. It is great mix between comfortable and interesting. Breakfasts are superb, served immaculately and personally by the hostess, Madame Isabella Bernardini. And Isabella is one hell of a hostess - gracious and tireless. Constantly on the move, she is totally dedicated to making your stay comfortable and worthwhile. J

This room was exactly as described and beautiful. The house has so much history and the host was so lovely. Every morning we had a delicious breakfast of yoghurt with honey and cinnamon, fruit and pastries with coffee. I loved how traditional the property was and could have walked around the apartment looking at the walls and books for hours. The location was perfect for Lecce, only a few minutes walk from the best areas for restaurants and bars but far enough away that the property was very quiet and private. Would definitely recommend someone to stay here if they are interested in a traditional stay in an amazing location.

The parking was quite difficult to manoeuvre through a very narrow entrance. This isn't a big issue though, there is literally nothing else negative to say about this fantastic property!

Isabella was a fantastic host. She told us the property was built in the 15th century and owned by her husband's family. She gave us a tour of the property. It really felt like a family home with lots of photos, artwork and items from all her travels around the world. She gave us lots of tips regarding places to eat and things to see. The location was right in the centre and easy to find with parking in the courtyard. We wish we could have stayed longer.

Location was terrific and Isabella, the proprietress was extremely accommodating and went out of her way to make us feel welcome. Shower was a bit small, but room and bathroom were spacious. Only drawback was that getting into the courtyard where there is limited parking is through a very narrow gateway. Also, be advised that instructions for what to do when you arrive will be sent via WhatsApp, not text.

Parking situation. We were lucky enough to be able to park in the courtyard, because street parking was very limited. But getting into the courtyard was through a very narrow passage and was nerve-wracking. This discouraged us from moving the car during our stay.

The charming professora Isabella treated us like family. She was warm, funny, and offered us much information on where to go in and around Lecce. Stepping into her palazzo is like turning back time, as it is appointed in old-world fabrics, texture, furniture, and icons.

It’s hard to find fault in our wonderful stay! That being said, WiFi was spotty and new mattress needed in suite.

Palazzo Bernardini is beautiful, it is truly a special place to stay. It is filled with stunning art, books and amazing furniture. It is very atmospheric and we felt privileged to stay here. Our suite had access to a balcony and a terrace, a welcome retreat from heat. Isabella is very kind and we were sad that she was away for two days of our trip. However, she had arranged breakfast at a restaurant, 2 mins away which was very good. It is a great location for exploring Lecce on foot.

The best breakfast we have ever had in a B&B ... Isabella had the table laid out in a precise order with everything you would need, (and more), for a continental breakfast. Isabella was a fantastic hostess very helpful.

Car parking was little tricky and the one way street system in the old city hard to get used to ... but if you are nervous about driving in the old town's streets, you can get parking outside of the old city walls.

Our room and the Palazzo Bernadini was a wonderful experience. This home has been in the same family since the 15th/16th century. Every room is like a museum. The room and bed was very comfortable and the breakfasts featured hard boiled eggs, pastries, bread, fruit, fresh juices and coffee of your choice. Our opinion was this was the best area to be in with everything easily walkable.

The outside stairs were poorly lit. Signage into Palazzo Bernadini could be improved.
