Really, really well located property and really helpful staff! Easy to find, close to absolutely everything you need in matera! My room was small but comfortable: great hot and cold shower with great pressure. Mini bar with a few drinks with fair price. Breakfast was really yummy. The staff were friendly and super helpful. They literally took me to the bus station on my last day as well as giving me all directions I needed to travel from matera to bari on time. Would definitely stay here again.

To have power in the room you have to put a little key on the wall to turn it all on. But in the same keychain you have the key for the room: So basically to lock and unlock the room you need to take the power key out of the wall, which automatically turns the power off! So you are in the dark when trying to lock or unlock the door, it’s pretty annoying. You can take the power key out of the keychain but I didn’t wanna do that so was using the torch on my phone to be able to successfully lock and unlock the room every time. The reception area is pretty dark at night. There are automatic lights turning on when you pass but a light that would illuminate everything better and that was on at all times would be nice. Nothing major though.

My stay at this BnB in Matera was overall pleasant, with a few things to note for future guests. The best part of the experience was definitely Silvia, the hostess — she was warm and attentive. From check-in to local recommendations, she was always available and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, and the location was convenient for exploring the historic Sassi. However, one downside was the noise in the mornings. My room was located right next to the kitchen, where breakfast was prepared and served each day. Starting quite early, I could clearly hear dishes clattering, which made it difficult to sleep in or enjoy a quiet morning. While this might not bother early risers, it’s something to be aware of if you’re looking for a more restful start to your day. A good option for short stays, especially if you’re planning to be up and about early — and if Silvia is your host, you’ll be in caring hands.

The location is superb - just on the edge of the old town and all the sights. The bed is extremely comfortable with good linen and pillows. Immaculate bathroom, good shower - couldn't fault the cleanliness throughout. Nice breakfast area with 4/5 tables - breakfast starts at 8.30am - it was a good, friendly place to swap tips and experiences with other travellers if you wished. The host offered some really good sightseeing advice and recommendations. Excellent pre-arrival communication from the hosts explaining the coded entry to the block, and recommending a convenient car park close by (10 euros per day).

The point of arrival/entry is not at all appealing. It's like the entry to a commercial block, but once you're on the first floor and entered the B&B space, the "feel" of the place is entirely different, and very comfortable.

I liked the Residence, it corresponded to my needs. Breakfast was just perfect, croissants and focaccia are very tasty. Location is great, just in the center, both parts of Matera are close.

I had a single room, it didn't have proper sound protection. But this was not an issue for me, because I didn't spend too much time in my room. I could see that all other rooms had more solid doors and probably there is no such issue for double-bed rooms.

This was an excellent value. If you will be out exploring Matera most of the day and just need a quiet, clean, air-conditioned place to sleep and have breakfast then it’s perfect. The location is ideal if you’re arriving by bus or train with luggage and plan to spend most of your time exploring the caves. The “local” streets nearby had better restaurants than those in the caves.

Breakfast started at 8:30 which is a bit late if you want to get out sightseeing before the heat kicks in.

Everything was wonderful in Donna Eleonora! They were always trying to help you, especially by giving you recommendations about spots to visit in Matera! My room was GREAT. Super comfy bed and a extremely clean bathroom. I would like to especially mention the shower: you felt as if you were given a massage! Also, lovely breakfast with high quality products! I especially loved the ricotta cheese and the focaccia but everything was very nice… I would stay here again without a doubt!

B&B Villa Eleonora is in an ideal location to visit Matera- it is very close to the old town but also conveniently located for car parks. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The owners gave us directions to explore the city and for restaurants and they were very helpful. The breakfast was very good.

The road nearby can be a bit noisy but with the air con we were able to close the windows and sleep peacefully!

I really love to stay at B&B Donna Eleonora, the location is excellent, only 10 minutes from the city center and from the area to visit the Sassi. The host was really very attentive, friendly, and kept an eye on my arrival at all times. The check-in process was very accessible and the breakfast was very good. Without a doubt, I would repeat.

Sylvia and her son were very friendly and accommodating. more than 10 star. They are proactive, responsive, and always super helpful. They gave me great recommendations regarding tours, restaurants and how to travel the city. The room is spotlessly clean and with all facilities needed. breakfast is exceptionally good. Location is right in the middle of the town, close to everywhere. I would say choosing to stay at Donna Eleonora is one of the best choices I made during trip to Matera.

Perfect hosts who were lovely and incredibly helpful. Great location - easy to access and just a few steps to the glorious Sassi Caveoso. Very comfortable, clean, quiet room. It was modern and nicely furnished. Delicious breakfast. Exceeded our expectations.
