For people who consider their ideal mode of transport as 'shanks's pony', the location is ideal. It is 1Km from the centro storico along a wide boulevard. To see many of the delights of Palermo we walked around 15Km per day. If you are not walkers, stay somewhere else. Other features of the location include the fact that there is a 24hr supermarket nearby. Family Affair is also close to a truly excellent sandwich bar/restaurant. Finally, on the same block is possibly the best pizzaria I have ever encountered in my well-travelled life. Location apart, let me mention that this property is staffed by a small army of delightful, intelligent and helpful young girls.

This hotel surpass my expectation. As our schedule kept changing therefore we made a last-minute booking at this suites. This may not be a typical "hotel" and I am in fact more of a fan of a typical "hotel", but I was so glad that I made this choice. First, carpark. We all know it is difficult to park in Sicily. Most hotels only provide valet parking, which sometimes made me worried as they would just take away your car and you are not aware of the quality of the carpark. For the suites, you can drop you luggage at the doorstep and drive to their designated carpark. That carpark, is literally the cleanest carpark I have seen in Italy :) They have a nice label stating "Family Affairs" at their entrance which made you feel that being a "designated" service. And even more important, that is 1 minute, or may be 45 seconds by foot from the suites. (Therefore yes, you can also park the car and push your suitcases back to the suites). Second, the suites situate in an old mansion with a lift therefore you do not need to carry your luggage. Third, the suites situate in the new town, which you can say bad or good. Bad is that it is quite far from the main tourist site so it is a long walk. Good is that in fact new town is a more decent area to live with many luxurious shops around so it feels safer. A supermarket is round the corner so you can buy what you need easily. Fourth, which is most shocking to me, is the extremely tasteful design of the suites. As mentioned, the suites situate in an old mansion. It has a very high ceiling with decoration on the walls and ceiling, together with the top-notch interior design decors, everywhere, literally everywhere, from your bathroom, to the doorway, to the waiting area, to the breakfast area. The place is spotlessly clean. The bathroom water tap is shining in silver without any trace of water mark.
The place is located on the second floor. As they have 2 compartments so the doors are opened to the public area (leading to the area of lift and staircase which is accessible to anyone walking in the building). As there is some energy preserving policy so the area does not have light unless someone walk pass, so it is a bit scary out there.

This is an extremely smart little designer hotel located on the second floor in one of Palermo's many historic suites. Very unprepossessing from the street, you enter into a huge old hall and take the elevator up to the reception area where a friendly welcome awaits. The whole set up has been beautifully renovated. Our room, whilst not enormous, was extremely comfortable and stylish. The bathroom one of the nicest I have stayed in anywhere. Breakfasts are outstanding. Location is very good with some excellent local restaurants ( full list provided by the hotel) in what feels like a safe part of town. Its only a 15 minute flat walk into the centre however with much to see along the way. Driving in Palermo is completely bonkers, street parking virtually impossible during the day and the entrance to Family Affair not that easy to spot ( though Waze takes you to the door). They have a link up with a private car park ( underground) situated around the corner ( first left) for 25-30 euros per night. Take it! The car park entrance is very narrow on the right hand side with a small 'Parking' sign so watch carefully.
Driving in Palermo!

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Family Affair Luxury Rooms & Suites in Palermo, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, I was impressed by the elegant decor and warm hospitality while we checked in. The location is ideal, situated in the heart of Palermo, just a short walk from the Politeama Theatre and other major attractions. This made exploring the city incredibly convenient. The rooms are beautifully designed, spacious, and equipped with all the modern amenities you could need. Our room had a lovely balcony, offering a charming view of the city. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and we had a very restful night’s sleep. The staff at Family Affair were outstanding. They were always friendly, attentive, and eager to help with any request. Their local recommendations for dining and sightseeing were spot on, enhancing my overall experience. The breakfast was delicious. Each morning, we enjoyed a delicious spread of local specialities, fresh fruits, and pastries. The quality and variety of the food were excellent and fresh, and it was a great way to start our day. The entire property was impeccably clean and well-maintained and smelt so nice. It was clear that the staff took great pride in keeping the place spotless. Our stay at Family Affair Luxury Rooms & Suites was nothing short of perfect. The combination of a prime location, luxurious accommodations, and exceptional service made it a memorable visit. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Palermo.
I can't complain about anything as it was amazing

I felt so happy that I had made a good choice in choosing Family Affair. I travelled alone from Australia, so didn't know what to expect. I just loved everything and was made welcome. Staff were amazing and the hotel was so clean. wish I could have stayed longer.Even though my room was tiny it didn't matter because everything else was perfect. Thank you so much. It gave my visit to Sicily a great start. Breakfast and the coffee was so good. I was a bit early for the breakfast but the gorgeous staff took the time to bring me a coffee to my room, how good is that!!!!
There was nothing I didn't like.

Of all the places we stayed in and around Palermo, my son—our resident hospitality critic—declared Family Affair Luxury Rooms the best. The staff were warm, welcoming, and impressively efficient. The rooms were tastefully decorated, spotless, and very well maintained. Breakfast was a delightful Sicilian spread, full of flavourful options, and the cappuccinos were exceptional. While not right in the heart of the city, the location was still within easy walking distance to central Palermo, yet tucked away in a quieter, more peaceful area. A charming little wine bar sits just across the street, perfect for aperitifs, and the neighbourhood boasts plenty of excellent restaurants.
On this occasion, I don't think there is anything we could fault really. This was a really pleasant experience. Thank you!

We had a wonderful stay! The accommodation was clean, cozy, and well-located. The staff were friendly and helpful, making us feel very welcome throughout our time there. Overall, the service and environment definitely deserve a solid four stars.
However, I’m taking off one star—not for the accommodation itself, but for the restaurant recommendation we received. The first restaurant Rimessa Dragotto suggested to us turned out to be the worst meal we had during our entire trip to Italy. It was disappointing and really didn’t reflect the amazing food culture Italy is known for. I would strongly suggest removing that restaurant from the recommendation list, as it doesn’t do justice to the otherwise great experience we had staying here.

Amazing place to stay in Palermo! Everything was perfect: beautifully designed interiors, spacious rooms, well-equipped bathrooms with all the essentials, and an incredibly friendly, helpful staff. The breakfast was delicious, and the location is unbeatable—situated in the best neighborhood in the city and just a 5-minute walk from the main sightseeing and shopping streets. For my birthday, I even received a small, delicious cake with a candle—such a thoughtful gesture! Thank you for making our stay in Palermo so pleasant and comfortable. You truly think of every little detail! ❤️
I loved everything!

A good priced hotel which has some cute features. They communicated well on whatsapp. Our flight landed late and the hotel staff are not there in the evening. The hotel is actually on one floor within what seems like an apartment block. They offer paid parking in a completely seperate building which is a chore to find, and they will bill you at the end of your stay (there is street parking but the hotel staff could not explain how to pay, except noting that its free at night). There was nothing going on around the hotel at night. In the daytime however it is literally a few steps aways from the main shopping high.street. The hotel is kind of spread through a few different areas of the floor. You enter the building from a door on the road, then you have to go up a lift to get to the hotel floor. We were left complimentary water, nespresso and cute almond cookies on the table. Good shower pressure. Nice room. No cupboards. Breakfast was quaint, although a very small space that felt a bit of a bother as more guests arrived. Some nice fruits, boiled eggs, dried fruits and nuts, jams, filter coffee, cereal. No hot options and whatever finishes at the buffet doesnt get refilled. It would probably be better if breakfast was served to your room.
There are no cupboards in the room. A sort of open hanging rail area is there for a few items. The breakfast area is too small. It would be better if you could order ala carte with option of a hot breakfast.

This place is adorable! The rooms are spacious and very well decorated. We loved the area, very safe and amazing shopping. I loved the bathroom products so much that I am searching to buy them for my home! The staff was extremely helpful, the even left us breakfast the night before as they knew we had an early check out. If I come back to Palermo I will stay here again!
The only thing I would change would be the beds, they were a little uncomfortable but not bad.
