This is an excellent hotel of high standard. It has responsive staff and not only a great restaurant but also a very high standard breakfast that is included in the room price. It is only a year old and its fittings are beautifully considered and very comfortable. It is set in lovely gardens that are well-maintained. Service included small cake just before dinner time (rather than the usual chocolate). Restaurant menu was wide-enough to satisfy even if one ate there most nights. Wine list was comprehensive.

Its location is a little out of the way n=but easy to find. Walking through the streets may make some people uncomfortable. There are brand new bathroom fixtures, and I would suggest that a handrail is critical to safety in the walk-in shower. The floor is marble and is slippery when wet. Bigger bath towels may solve the wet floor problem. Aged people may find the shower facility daunting.

Luxury hotel, in a superb old palace. Big rooms, clean, very helpful stuff. 15-20 minutes walk from all the sites, parking inside, don't have to worry about ZTL zone(restricted areas). Nice breakfast in a beautiful restaurant. Very good price for 5star hotel.

We ordered 2 times room service, one was for 1 pizza, the second was for 2 pasta, they charged me 15 euros extra for each time delivery!!! Of course I didn't know that, or else I wouldn't order. Feeled liked being scamed, not deserving for this kind of hotel. Should be writen at the menu, clearly!

We stayed at the hotel with over 20 family/friends who were all in Parma for our sons wedding. As well as staying at the hotel, we held the Farewell Drinks/Lunch in the gardens. The hotel staff were exceptional with all our requests and the food was very good from the breakfast to the buffet lunch served at the Farewell Drinks/Lunch. The rooms were a good size and very comfortable.

The location is okay but not central to the town, but an easy 10-15 mins walk.

The room is spacious and clean and well appointed. Breakfast was very nice -- I just wish we'd known it was included in the room rate when we checked in. We bought a couple of rolls for breakfast the first morning and didn't see the small notice in the room about the included breakfast until right before going to bed the second night.

The shower is ridiculous. Why hand the hand-held at waist height, pointing straight out to a short glass panel? Someone with arthritis, or someone like my sister with one arm, can't use it. TOO MANY things lit up during the night. I had to hang a shirt from a sconce to cover all the little lights from the thermostat, etc. We had a room with no wall windows, only two in the ceiling. NO fresh air during a light rain, and not enough darkening from the shades. The room was very bright at night.

We loved the history of the building, our room and its cozy terrace. The staff were very pleasant and the breakfast buffet and menu was lovely.

There was no air conditioning working in our room which seemed to attract the afternoon sun. It was stiflingly hot in the room and could not be cooled for sleep and in Parma it was about 27 degrees during our stay. The staff told us that Italian law dictates air conditioning be switched off in September but this didn’t seem to be the case in other hotels around Italy before or after our stay at this establishment. Be aware, that, unfortunately, it appears the hotel’s location is in a less than desirable area of the city, which obviously can’t be changed. Care should be taken when walking back from the old town/entertainment area after dark especially. No taxis or Uber available.

Our stay was perfect. The staff, the rooms were wonderful. The bed was comfortable and the shower was great. There is a very comprehensive breakfast on offer and the gardens were lovely.

There was nothing I didn’t like about the property however I honestly wouldn’t be in a hurry to return to Parma. We felt it lacked the charm of everywhere else we stayed. Having said that, if I was to return I would absolutely stay at the Grand Hotel.

Staff and rooms were excellent

The restaurant was awful. We only ate about half of what we ordered because even the pasta, which is flawless in just about every Osteria in Italy, was dry and overcooked. The waitstaff was very professional though: when my wife suggested they need to get a new chef 😅 they agreed and said they were getting one on Monday (the day after we left). I suggest reading only recent reviews of the restaurant to decide if you want to roll the dice.

The hotel was exceptionally appointed- like it was ready for royalty. Walking down the halls felt regal. The marble floors, the ornate chandeliers and wide hallways add to the atmosphere. Our rooms were very large, very comfortable beds, air conditioned and well lit. The bathrooms were oversized, with massive showers for two, excellent lighting and nice toiletries. The breakfast buffet had a wide array of healthy as well as decadent options and service was on point. Parking was easy, protected and on site. Kudos to the front desk staff who made us feel very welcome. I’d definitely stay here again!

There is not much staff for a five-star hotel, although, to be honest, the pricing is also on the low side for a 5-star hotel. The staff was polite but I wouldn't say friendly. For instance, I hauled the luggage up the stairs from our car and the staff only asked whether they could help when the job was already done. Although the breakfast buffet was good, the refill of empty plates and bowls wasn't.

The Grand Hotel was a wonderful place with attentive service and very friendly staff! The Grand Hotel is in a residential neighborhood that is perfectly situated between the historic center and Santo Cristo Piazza. It was an easy walk to the Historic Center. The rooms were spacious and comfortable! Breakfast is served each day and is complimentary! We highly recommend The Grand Hotel in Parma!
