We had a First-Class Experience at Alfonso a Mare from the moment we arrived. Our stay was nothing short of amazing – first-class in every regard. It's clear that some reviews must be describing an entirely different hotel, as our experience was overwhelmingly positive. The location is simply paradise, an idyllic setting that instantly transports you to a state of relaxation. From the welcoming reception to every member of the hotel staff, attentiveness was a consistent theme. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and genuinely couldn't do enough for us throughout our three-night stay. Our room was a beautiful, clean, spacious, and impeccably well-maintained, complete with a large bathroom. The daily towel changes were a thoughtful touch that further enhanced our comfort. Dining at the hotel restaurant was a highlight. As it is a prime beachfront location and has a predominantly fish-based menu, my dislike for fish presented absolutely no problem. On both evenings, the incredibly accommodating waiter collaborated with the chef to create custom first and second courses specifically for me. The result was delicious, high-quality meals, perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. We were so impressed that we made a point of personally thanking and complimenting the chef at the end of our stay. This willingness to go above and beyond, coupled with very reasonable prices, truly made our dining experiences unforgettable. We wholeheartedly recommend Alfonso a Mare most highly and will definitely return. Thank you for an unforgettable stay!

Perfect in every way

- Room: spacious, beautiful, clean - Location: great, next to the main road, has free parking outside - Breakfast: room is beautiful with sea view, breakfast is decent - Room has mini fridge

If you go with your expectations adjusted, you won't be disappointed. Some things: - 45€ for 2 beach chairs + umbrella - is lacking an information sheet on the room (with WiFi password, breakfast hours, number to call reception, etc)

The hotel staff were friendly and very helpful, and the rooms are comfortable, super clean and serviced daily - probably better than photos lead me to believe. This hotel is situated on beach level, and as such is way below the main Amalfi - Positano road. This makes it super easy to go for a swim but less so to catch a bus into the towns. There are water taxis available, though, for a price. There are however several restaurants and bars at this beach/cove so you really don’t need to venture far, unless you want to.

The cost of beach beds, and no reduction for in-house guests.

This place exceeded our expectations. The location, sea taxi from the beach to Positano, the views and the restaurant was amazing. The room was not the most modern, but it was spacious and clean, very good shower. We had a lovely stay. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us.

The hotel was absolutely stunning, hands-down the best part of our trip to the Amalfi Coast. It is an oasis of gorgeous sea-side beauty and serenity. Positano and Amalfi were beautiful as we expected, but the tourism got overwhelming, and each day we could not wait to get back to our hotel. It was pure paradise in every way. You are crazy if you do not stay there!

Nothing. There is no better place a traveler can stay on the Amalfi coast regardless of the price. And this hotel is priced well.

Great location. Very hard to get to though. We ended up hiring a car to make it easier. The lady on reception was absolutely lovely and so helpful, she even organised a pre-prepared breakfast for the day we were leaving because we had to leave before breakfast time. Pizzas were great.

The restaurant was overpriced although delicious. A lot of the staff were very unhelpful and breakfast one day was great but the next we couldn’t even get milk without asking several times and the juices were never refilled. Sunbeds are way overpriced.

It was the most amazing location. Very busy most Times of the day.. only drawback is the driveway up and down dragging your luggage because the shuttle service refuse to go down. It's not for the elderly or infirm unfortunately. I loved the fact I could go for a swim at 6am and sit on the beach in relative silence...then walk back to my room. 1 min from the beach.the staff were lovely.

The driveway... the menu at the restaurant was a little pricey and not very gluten free friendly.

The rooms were very clean and kept after well. The employees were all very kind and incredibly helpful. They would answer any question without any issue. The breakfast that came with the room was really good too.

The dinner was absolutely awful. I’ve never had food that I could say that I do not want to eat. I’ve always wondered why people said that they couldn’t eat something because it was so bad, but that’s how the dinner was. I payed 80 euro for food that was almost inedible. It’s not a 5 star restaurant or even hotel, so why are you trying to serve food like it is? I got a leaf and raw shrimp for 30 euro. That is insane to me.

Lovely hotel, with its own beach, we came from Positano, so it was nice to find this hotel, it was quieter with an amazing beach, the sea is so clear. The hotel staff are super helpful, IIlaria, on front desk was the best, so kind, she made sure that everything we needed was there, she arranged everything, lovely person. If your coming from Positano, or nearby get a water taxi to this hotel, its much easier than a taxi and cheaper and faster. This hotel is listed as 3 star but I think its 4 star. Breakfast is healthy and simple but all you need, but the lunch and dinner is very good (fish and chips are excellent) and theres 2-3 food places all around you. A lovely quiet charming hotel.

Was right at one of the top 3 beaches in amalfi coast imo. They upgraded our room free of charge (we didn’t ask for that).

The sunbeds were really expensive even when i compare it with the ones in furore which is a nicer beach imo, they should be free for the ones staying there at some hours of the day at least i think. Some personnel weren’t very welcoming. The restaurant of the hotel was expensive even with the discount they give at lunch or dinner. Everyone was going to the restaurant right next to it.
