Hotel S. Andrea is a stone’s throw from the ticket office for UNESCO sites and from S. Vitale itself. This was chance or luck for me, and I appreciated it. This is a charming boutique hotel with very friendly staff. I felt cared for.

My single room was in the attic, with an ineffective A/C machine. It was well into the 30s outside, so the nights were very hot and my sleep was not great. I should have asked if they had a fan — this is my oversight. And I imagine other rooms on lower floors were much more comfortable. I would definitely go back but would ask for a room not up under the roof.

I have visited Italy four times over the past 20 years. Sant'Andrea in Ravenna is the most wonderful hotel I have ever stayed at in this charming country. The room was beautiful ,spacious and very quiet! It had a lovely view of the large backyard and gardens. The breakfast was excellent and the coffee was always perfect. The entire staff was warm, friendly, and helpful with directions to the splendid historic sites in Ravenna. It was only at 5 minute walk to San Vitale and Galla Placida. My room's price of $120.00 was exceptionally reasonable. I plan to return in 2026 for an even longer stay!

Directly at the heart of Ravenna. A beautiful, in English (or maybe Italian, can't say for sure)country style furnished hotel. We had the little house in the garden, which was great and relaxing. Staff was friendly and helpful at all times. Breakfast had everything we needed.

Due to the circumstances of the City itself, the carpark is 2 minutes walking distance away. Not bad, but there is no shade for the car, so you can't leave anything heat sensitive in the car.

Superb location only minutes away from San Vitale. EVERYTHING, including Theodoric mausoleum (15 mins away) within walking distance. Arrival by car to unload luggage a bit hair-rising through pedestrian zone, but works perfectly. Cheap parking minutes away. Rooms large and scenic, service very friendly. Large and quiet garden where you can relax and have breakfast.

The location couldn’t have been better. Some of the sites we wanted to visit were right there. The area was pretty and clean. The hotel staff were very helpful; they made dinner reservations and ordered a taxi for us. The breakfast had a good variety, including fresh baked croissants, buns, even fruit tarts. We stayed in the garden annex. It worked out very well for 3 adults with its two bedrooms.

We had the great little garden room in this peaceful and friendly place which is very well-sited for the main attractions of Ravenna. The car park recommended by the hotel is nearby and reasonably priced and there are good restaurants in the same street as the Sant’Andrea as well as in the nearby town centre. The breakfast was good and the staff delightful.

No criticism

The hostess Michaela was so helpful, staying late to check us in when our bus arrived late and calling a taxi to pick us up at the bus stop. She was so patient with me on the phone since I had no idea where we were. And she arranged our taxi service to the port for our cruise the next day. She made good suggestions for meals and shopping too. I also loved that the hotel was small and charming and we had a private balcony.

Everything was great. I wish we'd had more time to enjoy the gardens and our private terrace.

Small private very quiet . Lovely garden area to relax and have breakfast . The staff were amazing very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Love the lady that served breakfast she was just so kind even when under stress as they were very busy .

The bedrooms lacked drawer space . No where to store anything other than the wardrobe which fit two ladies was a bit difficult with out beauty products etc .

Great location and good size room. There was a fridge and a safe in the room. The toilet was clean. Beds are OK.

Cover on bed could be cleaner but OK overall. Breakfast didn't have many options for vegans, and coffee was slightly disappointing. Water in the fridge was not complimentary and ended up paying 6 euros for 3 small bottles.

Attractively furnished hotel in an excellent location for the Unesco World Heritage Sites. Good sized room with balcony, attractive garden, friendly staff.

Breakfast buffet wasn't always replenished quickly and would have benefitted from a bit more choice.
