We loved the location of the hotel, right in the middle of the old city and very close to San Vitale and the other amazing sites in Ravenna. The hotel itself is quite old, dating back several hundred years. It has been tastefully decorated and brought up to date while retaining its unique charm. And the staff is very friendly and accommodating to our needs. Dora referred us to an excellent guide to show us around the city. Also, the hotel is located across teh street from the Mercato Coperto, where we had some great food.

Nothing important stands out. We really liked our stay there.

Albergo Cappello was my first Booking.com reservation and exceeded my expectations. Great staff, convenient location, facility very clean. Many options within walking distance to shop, eat, and/or drink. We ate in the hotel restaurant and really enjoyed the atmosphere, service, and options. Highly recommend. We stayed here as Ravenna is the cruise port for Royal Caribbean. City of Ravena has a shuttle service that picked us up in front of hotel and would highly recommend as well. On the map, hotel appears to be close to train station, however its a decent walk over some cobblestone streets, prepare and pace yourself or better yet, take a taxi.

One of our rooms was off an unairconditioned hallway which made the room a tad warm.

The location of Albergo Cappello can’t be beat. It’s a block from the main piazza, within walking distance of most major tourist sites, and right across the street from the extensive covered market, where you can find food stores, restaurants, and shopping. The large, comfortable public lounges, restaurant, and bar offer fine places to eat and relax. Centuries-old features like frescoes and painted ceilings provide a sense of charming elegance, while the modern bathrooms and glass elevator give guests the efficiency they appreciate. I would particularly like to compliment the efficient and caring staff. I am an older lady traveling alone, and I had the misfortune to fall and break my wrist while visiting a local church. The hotel receptionists as well as the waitress and cleaning lady all offered kindness and much appreciated assistance. They provided ice to help with the swelling, helped me pack my suitcase, even adjusted my sling and put on my coat. I don’t know how I would have managed without their cheerful kindness.

The older sofa in my room definitely needs cleaning or new upholstery.

The staff were fantastic, helpful, friendly, and efficient. The hotel is in a prime spot at the heart of Ravenna's popular historic district, literally down the block from amazing sights, good food, atmosphere, and culture. We enjoyed the served breakfast and ate a very delicious lunch in the hotel dining room. The hotel is in a renovated 15th century building with beautiful architetural and design features. A real gem.

The only thing to beware of is that there is no air-conditioning. In summer weather, this could be an issue, because when you open the window, there is considerable noise from down the street.

This is a unique special hotel. It was built in 1468 as a private residence with frescoes and wooden beams everywhere. It's in the historic district but they have a garage a quick walk away. Our room had carved wooden ceiling tiles and frescoes around the top of the walls - stunning! Bathroom is modern, clean and spacious. Bed was comfy with crisp sheets and the air conditioning was great. Breakfast is basic but good. We dined at their restaurant and it was one of our best meals in Italy. They have a new young chef who uses seasonable ingredients. Don't miss the Pecorino white wine - from the region and divine. The woman at reception was so nice and helpful - definitely stay at this treasure!!

Honestly there was nothing. It is a wonderful hotel.

the hotel is lovely and perfectly situated to do the various sites and sights on foot. It has a good restaurant and lots around as well including in the Covered Market. also it has a lift to the upper floors. one to go back to.

I had a slight problem with the stairs to my room. four down to the corridor and no bannister rail but only because I walk with a stick. it is not a complaint as I negotiated it easily enough but they could install a handrail.

We enjoyed everything about this stay. Great Location and wonderful 15th Century building, but with mod cons. Central to sights and restaurants, although the hotel's restaurant is one of the best we ate at. Unlike so many other hotels these days, Albergo Cappello has a guest lounge, and a bar so you can have drinks and relax after a day's sightseeing. Our room was a delight - bed was comfy, huge and great to lie in bed and look at the ceiling from 1468 AD. Bathroom modern, large shower cubicle, with bidet and lots of towels, bathrobes etc. Staff are very friendly, efficient and go above and beyond. One of the best hotel stays of our four week trip in Italy.

One of the best hotels that we have stayed in, location, staff interior decor all amazing. We would certainly return.

The only complaint that I could make was the breakfast. Although we ticked a preprinted form with our requirements and a time for us to sit. It was very disappointing to turn up at the agreed time to find that the table with our entire breakfast had been laid quite a long time before. The breads were very dry and the butter melting. I felt that this let down the quality of an amazing hotel and restaurant and should be changed.

Great location, our junior suite was spacious and beautiful with fresco ceiling.

The mini bar had two bottles of water in it and nothing else. Since there was no pricing listed we presumed the water was complimentary with the room since oftentimes it is. We were surprised to be charged 3euros per bottle on check out. We feel if they are going to charge that fee it should be listed in the room since there is a shop directly across the street selling bottles of water for less than 1 euro.

Very handily placed for walking around and seeing all the major sites. Amazing frescoes within the hotel itself and great staff who were very helpful. Didn't dine there but were told that the food was very good. Lots of good restaurants in the area. Able to drive right up to the hotel and unload bags although very stressful as you are driving through crowds of pedestrians and wondering if you are allowed to go where your directions tell you to go!

Pretty noisy until well into the small hours on our second night there (we were in room 106 which is quite near the front, which is noisy). Very hot and a bit stuffy (it's an old building not suited to air con)
