We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Donna Camilla Savelli. The location in the Trastevere area was perfect—within easy walking distance to many attractions and fantastic dining options. The breakfast was outstanding, offering both great quality and excellent value for money. Each time we returned from exploring the city, it was a pleasure to step into the hotel’s cool, calming atmosphere, complete with a refreshing scent that instantly made us feel relaxed. The staff were consistently pleasant, welcoming, and eager to help with anything we needed. We also had the pleasure of dining at the hotel’s restaurant and were treated to a wonderful gourmet meal. The service was attentive and friendly, making the experience even more memorable. Overall, this hotel provided comfort, convenience, and exceptional hospitality—we would gladly stay here again.
Our room felt a bit small for our preference. Also, in the wing we stayed, we noticed some morning noise from outside coming through the windows. Installing better noise-insulating windows would make the experience even more restful.

We absolutely loved our stay at Donna Camilla Savelli! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The rooms were incredibly spacious, filled with natural light, and featured a beautiful large window overlooking the courtyard. We loved how many lighting options there were in the room—you could easily set the mood to match your ambiance. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the AC was hands down the best of our entire trip (a real bonus in the summer!). The rooftop terrace was stunning and quickly became one of our favorite spots to relax. Location-wise, it was perfect for us. Just a short walk to the many shops and restaurants in Trastevere, but tucked away enough from the busier tourist areas so we could truly unwind before heading home. The amenities were thoughtful and high-quality, especially the shower products—which felt like a touch of luxury you don’t always find in hotels. We ordered breakfast via room service on our first morning, and it was wonderful. We didn’t have the chance to try the restaurant or bar on site, but it’s a great option to have. Overall, the rooms were so comfortable that we often didn’t want to leave. Thank you to the entire staff for making our stay so enjoyable—we can’t wait to come back!

The hotel was totally perfect! Beautiful rooms and main hall decoration, the garden and their roof terrace were great too! Staff were all helpful with service mind as it is a 4 stars hotel. Breakfast was good, many option you can choose and with the garden atmosphere, it’s perfect! Room was clean and comfortable. amenities were good. There are many restaurants and it’s nor far from Trastevere nightlife.
The location was a bit far from downtown and main attraction in Rome without any nearby public transportation. And around the hotel was roman road which hard to walk on and even harder to hold your large luggage so Taxi/Private car was highly recommended for staying here. However, it’s quiet and safe. Another thing is the price was very high, and service charge for staff is addition from your payment.

The breakfast was amazing - it is a buffet style with attentive staff that provide the coffee. The foods offered went from salads and freshly-pressed riccotta to cold sliced meats to eggs and bacon to some of the best pastries I’ve ever had (the sour cherry tart was especially delicious). Breakfast is served in the garden which is one of the nicest places at this hotel. There is also evening entertainment in the garden each evening. The nights we were there, we heard a DJ that also played an electric violin with a light-up bow, and a woman singing. Neither was particularly good, but we appreciated the ambience. The hotel building is a former convent, and has a lovely and incredibly confusing layout. I enjoyed spelunking through the hallways looking for the rooftop patio and the church that is attached to the hotel (very very beautiful!). There are beautiful remnants of the convent all around - statues in niches, wood ceilings etc. We did not have time to see the grotto that apparently can be viewed by contacting the front desk - sounds intriguing! The sheets were very high quality and the bath products smelled really good. I liked that this hotel was up the hill from the true tourist smash of Trastivere. It was possible to walk to the tourist insanity, but then to escape to this quiet and lux hotel.
The room was a very odd shape and didn’t have a lot of natural light. Although I appreciate use of all the spaces in this former convent, it seems like this room should have cost a lot less than it did given the strange layout. I think however that the rooms with garden view would have cost even more. We stayed in a second hotel in Rome (Ponte/ Regola neighborhood boundary - across the river) during the same week of this visit that had a view of St. Peters and was a 2-floor suite with a private terrace and bottle of prosecco to welcome us that was the same price as this room. Compared to that, this room was extremely overpriced. This hotel layout is interesting and would be miserable for anyone that has issues with stairs. It worked for us, but beware!

Perfect location for me - very quiet but close to restaurants, etc. The room was lovely and had everything needed, including a delicious assortment of snacks (for purchase). High marks for cleanliness. What appealed me to most was the gorgeous architecture, garden and bar - inventive use of space and the decor was magazine-worthy. I never write reviews, but Donna Camilla Savelli is the best!
Some people may have trouble with the stairs in some areas.

Everything was perfect. Camilla Savelli is a high class hotel, beautifully designed, beautifully furnished, good hosting. Breafast was quiet ordinary, not different from other reguler hotel. For every small request you have to pay extra. For the money they charge for a night they could be more generous.. Idris who works in the hotel is a very nice guy, ready to help you in anything you need always with a smile and good will. In general we had a good time in the hotel. Herze and Carmie
We think that breakfast could be reacher and with more options for interesting food according to the level of the hotel. as the receptionist definded it .

Location was great , easy walk to sites of Rome , spacious room with a comfortable bed , good water pressure in shower but short shower door on the bath meant water always sprayed out onto floor area , breakfast seclection very good . Roof top terrace was a big bonus and gave a fabulous view
Not being able to have breakfast in garden due to building works that we were not informed of at booking Construction noise in our balcony during refurbishment and noise from temporary bar right under our terrace put us off sitting there Reported faulty hairdryer to reception twice but wasn’t replaced Could have provided complimentary water in the room daily not just on first day Lack of cushions on roof top terrace furniture in the evening , only present in the morning for some reason Hotel resteraunt had no atmosphere , sterile and austere , was expecting to be seated in courtyard as weather was great for alfresco eating

The room was difficult to navigate -- particularly the bed area -- I kept bumping into things as there was hardly any space to walk around the bed and the TV wall to the "other" side of the bed. This was a problem because the USB ports did NOT work in the wall on the more accessible side of the bed. The bathroom was very nice. There weren't any "cottons" or things like that...and no wash cloth for the shower. Only 1 towel.
a longer stay.......complimentary aperativo in garden. The music on Tuesday evening in the garden was very loud...not conducive to relaxation. The arrangement for car to meet me at the airport was not handled well. I waited for 30+ minutes, did not receive first message from hotel about delay (but driver said it was a mess up at the hotel) - it was cash only for the car, which I did not expect. And driver had a van -- for one person. That wasn't a good way to begin what I thought would be a perfect stay...got better but that left a sour taste for me.

The building itself was gorgeous! The grounds, garden, were also beautiful.
We paid a lot for a small room. The ambience of the entryway, the high ceilings and the arches and the beautiful hallways weren’t really reflected in the room that we stayed in. Also, we didn’t opt for the additional cost of breakfast. It would have been more acceptable if breakfast was included. We later stayed at a b & b that was amazing, included breakfast, in the same area & less expensive.

This is a phenomenal place! It is right in the heart of the restaurant district, with wonderful eateries within walking distance. It is close enough to the Vatican and the ancient Roman ruins (e.g. the Colosseum), without being right on top of them… but mostly, this place really is a retreat from the chaos of Rome… especially valuable during tourist season. Every time I returned to the Savelli, it was pure ‘ahhhh’. The staff is so welcoming and accommodating. The rooms are big and service is outstanding.
