Hotel is good, but the STAFF is outstanding! They really make the differnce. They go above and beyond to make sure you enjoy the city. Great recommendations for restaurants, cafés, traditional food, tourist traps, you name it. I went very well prepared for this trip and yet they provided a couple of great tips that made it even better. Breakfast was ok, just the right amount of things you may need, and the space is not big, but since we were going out very early that was never an issue. The beds were a bit too firm for our taste, but of course that's a very personal thing. OH! And of course the location of this place is perfect to move around the city, walking distance from all places (if you like to walk) and easy access to public transportation as well.

Our room was easy to get to on 2nd floor, clean, spacious for Rome standards and came with a nice breakfast. We slept like babies! Shower water pressure was great. Front desk staff was outstanding, very helpful with questions and getting taxis. Highly recommend! When searching for locations, I found Hotel Grifo to have a nice price in a central, fun neighborhood. Lots of places to eat, drink and be merry all around! Our golf cart tour guide told me I picked her favorite neighborhood to stay, Monti 😄

We liked the Hotel Personel and the location MOST! The personel (Eva, Alen and the others who prepared for us the breakfasts and did the cleaning!) are so kind and helpful! They showed us on the map of Rome where it is worth to go for a dinner, where we can go shopping and how to get there. Whatever we needed - like printing the document or leaving the things in the morning before the flight back - they helped us and were so kind to explain everything! The second MOST beloved fact is the location of the hotel which is just 10 mins away (on foot) from Colloseum and Forum Romanum! We haven't even dreamt of having better location to start exploring Rome than Grifo hotel! There is also one important hint behind this location - you are just in between the historical center of the city and both: Termini Railway/Bus station & Metro station - which is really comfortable if you wish to spare some time and get quicker to Vaticano! We were also nice astonished to find so plenty of nice, friendly and typical-Italian cafe and resturants around the hotel. We really, really recommend this Hotel to everybody who wish to stay there for holiday, enjoy city vibre and local cousine.

Location of the hotel is just perfect, very close to major touristic attractions, but at the same time surrounded by high quality local restaurants. Evrything is spotless clean and well managed. Special appreciation goes to Alen and Donatella at the reception, they did everything to make our stay a great one

Though the size of the rooms is more or less ok, the bathroom is quite small, making it rather uncomfortable

The location is wonderful. Less than 1 KM from The Colosseum, Trevi Fountain and many other attractions. The staff were all wonderful to deal with. Always available and more than happy to make restaurant recommendations etc. Also, taking care of booking taxis, dinner reservations and anything we needed. Cannot be overstated - the staff were just wonderful.

The only potential concern is the room size but to be honest, I think if you want to stay in the old part of the city, you have to expect limited space. Everything was done by the hotel to make the most efficient use of space. Well done.

The staff were excellent, very helpful ,always friendly and offering great tips on things to do or directions. There are numerous local bars and restaurants to choose from. It is only 10 mins walk to the Colosseum, and about 25 mins walk to Trevvi Fountain, Pantheon & Spanish Steps. Vatican city is about an hour's walk but you can use the local Metro as an option, and the hotel staff kindly show the details of how to use the service.

Our room was located in the hotel's annexe building around the corner and although very nice, didn't feel up to the standard shown on the photos.

The feedback for Hotel Grifo is long overdue. The comfortable, clean, perfect accommodation with the spot on hospitality, breakfast and tips for local dining and audio tours ...I can't think of a single thing that this place lacks. The highlight for us however was how the team went above and beyond to help us get back the Tissot watch we left in the room. They notified us as soon as they found it and communicated, coordinated with patience and dedication and it reached us in Dublin from Rome in a matter of a few days. We are forever grateful for this wonderful place and team. We commit to choosing only Hotel Grifo for our every visit to Rome. Grazie mille✨✨

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Receptionist welcomed us, told us how to contact him if we need help, gave us a tourist map, marked nearby tourist attractions, and gave us advice on which restoraunts/pizzerias nearby to try out (that advice was good).

Since I've read negative reviews before I made the booking I was prepared for the minor incoveniences. They did not really detract from experience but it is worth keeping them in mind. Thin walls (you hear everything), room was a bit cramped, I had a squeaky bed. My room was in a separate building and I had to open 3 separate doors to get there. Again, nothing major, just to keep in mind.

What a fabulous hotel. Great location, near to the Colosseum and surrounded by many small shops and lovely restaurants, hosterias and bars. The reception team are all extremely helpful, especially Alen, Georgina and Houssem. Our quiet spacious room was on the 4th floor facing the street with a large terrace with a table and chairs. The large bed was extremely comfortable, and we had no problems sleeping. The room was serviced to a high standard everyday and the towels provided were a good size. The breakfast menu offered a range of options suited to most diets, and the friendly house keeping team regularly restocked and ensured the area was clean.

There was nothing I could fault.

Great location with plenty of options of different restaurants and places to eat close by, very close to the Colloseum and within a 15 to 20 minute walk to other sites in Rome. Comfy bed. Good breakfast with plenty of options to suit different tastes, including cereal, yoghurt, fruit, scrambled eggs, sausages, toast and spreads, cold meats and cheese plus sweet treats and different juices plus tea and coffee. Super helpful and friendly staff. Cute street and felt quite safe in the area at night. Room was small but we expected that. Our room overlooked an inner courtyard of apartments and was very quiet at night with absolutely no traffic noise. Good to have a lift even though it was tiny.

Room was a bit dark and small, shower was small and in need of a renovation. But we expected this and it was ok for us. Shower water temperature was hard to get right, often a bit cool and couldn't adjust it to be warmer. Shower door didn't seal and leaked water over the floor. Only one hook in the bathroom for towels so had to hang towels over a railing in main bedroom meant for hanging clothes up. Fruit offered at breakfast was potluck and served whole so hard to cut up with no decent knife and lack of space on tiny breakfast tables. But just ask if you have a preference of fruit
