Maison Candia Luxury House is an incredible place that really gives you the best of both worlds—it's a perfect blend of a hotel and an Airbnb. The rooms are spacious although i think there are only 4 of them, and the bathrooms are immaculately clean. The morning breakfast is simple but more than enough to fuel you for a long day of walking around Rome. Its location is a major plus. There are plenty of great restaurants nearby, and it's so close to the Vatican that it's a huge advantage for at least one of your days in Rome. However, the best part of the stay was, without a doubt, the host. He was an amazing person—patient, with a dry sense of humor, and extremely helpful. He guided us from the moment we needed directions from the airport to get to the hotel, and continued to be a great resource until the very end. His assistance made our trip to Rome so much easier and more enjoyable.

We absolutely LOVED this property!!! We flew in to Rome from the US and this was the best way to start our 3 week European adventure. Joseph was amazing...so helpful in recommending places to eat and the best ways to travel within the city. He provided a map and showed us the bus and metro lines to get around to all the sweet spots in town. The location is wonderful! So close to Vatican City, an easy walk to the metro station to get to the Colosseum and other distant spots, and very safe. It was really close to lots of great eateries. (One of our favorites for a latte, sweet treat, or quick lunch was Pane e Salame which was a short 3-4 minute walk.) The room was impeccably clean and even though we did not select the in-house breakfast, it looked delicious! The bed was very comfortable and the updated room and bath provided all the comforts of home. Also, Rome in the summer is very hot so the AC was a welcomed treat at the end of a long day of touring. If we go back to Rome, we will definitely be staying at Maison Candia! Thank you Joseph!!!

Our stay at this hotel was simply wonderful! The rooms were clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated, but what truly made our stay special was the owner’s approach. From the moment we arrived, he welcomed us with a smile and kindly gave us recommendations on what to see in the area and where to eat. Throughout our stay, he made sure we had everything we needed and was always happy to chat or provide useful tips. It’s clear that he runs the hotel with passion, and taking care of guests is his top priority. His personal touch created a warm and friendly atmosphere that made us feel right at home. We will definitely be coming back and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for not just quality accommodation, but also an exceptional experience!

We stayed at Maison Candia for 3 days and our experience was absolutely fantastic. The host was incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with a smile. The room was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully decorated, with all the amenities one could need. The hotel’s location was perfect, close to attractions which made getting around very easy. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of fresh and delicious options. Overall, the hotel exceeded our expectations, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable stay.

The hotel is close to Vatican and Ottaviano metro station. Close to the hotel are many restaurants. The room was very chic decorated; all was very clean (cleaning every day). The breakfast was good and with multiple possibilities of choice. The host, Joseph, was very kind and hospitable; he cooked for us every day omelette, eggs. We had a late check-in, and he waited for us and gave us informations to reach the hotel. For us was a excellent choice.

We stayed here in October of 2023 (my review is late; apologies!). The location was the best. Our main goal was to visit the Vatican and this place is literally within a 10 minute walking distance. We were able to avoid the long line-ups and large crowds at the Vatican church as we were able to make it super early (before 7 am) as the proximity of Maison Candia is really close. There are also great restaurants and shops in the nearby area. Our group is not well suited to large tourist crowds so it was definitely a plus to be able to walk back to our place of stay to relax during the day, have a nap, and go out again at night for evening festivities! It's another plus that Joseph is an amazing host. He informed us a lot of the nearby attractions and places to be cautious of. He has excellent recommendations of great restaurant and gelato stores!

Josef is the best, he made our stay in Rome so much more fun! :) He even catered for our special no-sugar diet needs every morning which was a huge plus, not to mention how generous the breakfast always was. He is also the Master of Omlets, you have to try his tomato one. ;) The location is perfect for those who want to stay close to Vatican City but also plan to visit the Historical City Center: Ottaviano (Line A) Metro station is just 5 minutes walk away.

Not really a big deal, but one thing to be maybe prepared for is that hot water in the morning needs couple of minutes to heat up (the shower head has multicolour LEDs that change colour according to water temperature) and water pressure for showering is not exceptionally high - but I guess this is the price you pay to stay this close to Vatican City. :)

This is a very well managed small hotel. It has only 6 rooms and you get the most personal attention and service from the manager. His name is Joseph and he's an asset: very helpful and friendly. Rooms are bright and comfortable, everything is of a good size not in american way, but Rome-wise you can say they are spacious ) The location is excellent surrounded by an endless number of shops and restaurants. 15 minutes to the Vatican by feet. The breakfast at this place is very good. You get traditional Italian cornetto and other pastries with coffee and Joseph also offers ham and cheese and very tasty omelettes.

The only downside of this place is that the window face the busy street. So if you like to sleep with the windows open you might want to consider bringing earplugs with you.

Joseph who was managing the property was very helpful getting everything set up. With three different locks to get inside the room, the room was very secure and felt safe. I left my luggage to wait for check in and Joseph gave me an extensive intro to the city with important things to be careful about. He then gave me a tour of the room and handed over the keys. The room was comfy and clean. The property is 5 minutes from the Ottaviano station and is ten minutes from the Vatican! Super convenient. The shops downstairs have a low cost feel to them but some exploration of the neighborhood revealed some excellent bars open beyond midnight!

The temperature control was hard to figure out so we woke up hot often, there was something being cooked in the living area of the apartment which led to a weird smell when you entered and since the rooms are very close to each other one should prepare to hear the other guests through the walls

Wonderful stay. It’s very well located, minutes away from the Vatican and in a neighbourhood full of restaurants. Room, although small, is comfortable and has all you need. The bathroom is modern and everything was very clean. Breakfast was complete. The owner was always very helpful.
