The location was fantastic and the staff were super helpful for any needs from breakfast to bag storage to ordering onwards travel. They couldn't do enough for us. The Air conditioning in the room was brilliant and the general cleanliness was brilliant. Would 100% re-use this hotel for our next trip to Rome.
Not enough sockets that could accept the UK/Ireland style adapters. There were 2 total in the room, 1 of which was used by the TV itself so a disconnection was needed to access that one. The shower cubicle was slightly on the small side and likely would be difficult to manoeuvre in for anyone of a larger size.

As a solo traveller, River Palace was great. The area was quiet with good eateries, but, imnportantly, you are going to be 20 minutes from the center - if you like walking then this makes you see more of Rome - if you don't like walking you are literally three minutes from the subway and can get the subway into the Termini stop, or catch a bus. The bus stop for the Coliseum is on the right hand side by the pedestrian crossing - and that worked brilliantly. Hotel: rooms are very good - I upgraded to a double room as I wanted a bathtub - and they did that, no problems. Staff are excellent: helpful, careful, and genuinely sevice minded. Breakfast was good, but only 3* - cereals, a cooked breakfast, and ASK FOR COFFEE - you can get an espresso, cappucino etc; the coffee out is diner coffee, but the coffee from the waitress was good. I need extra pillows, and that was done. There is an extra duvet already in the room. The room has an adjustable thermostat, and I had a street room on the third floor with fully opening windows. Sky box with channels. The room as very clean, and it has a nice old world charm, which I prefer to modern boutique decoration, so all-in-all very happy.
Some small complaints: the water was hot, but walking 25-30km each day, I wanted hotter. Breakfast: again, ask for coffee - and you will get excellent coffee. (There is also a very good barista bar 50m toward the Metro, which opens at 6.30am). The hotel bar was too expensive.

Great location, 5 min walk to Spanish steps, 25 min walk to Vatican, 10/15 min taxi to colosseum (about €20 euro). Very clean, lovely interior, lovely staff. Amazing air con, the room was soooo cold at night. Bathroom was lovely too.
Some people complained in reviews about small rooms so I expected them to be tiny but they really are what I expect in a capital city, can’t do a cartwheel but big bathroom and enough room to open suitcase.

The hotel is very well situated and within walking distance of lots of the city's attractions. The River Palace is very comfortable and spotlessly clean. It was warm and welcoming. It has a nice bar for a pre dinner drink or a digestif . The breakfast is very good and served in a pleasant room with linen tablecloths and napkins. The atmosphere is of a comfortable old fashioned family run establishment. I would certainly stay there again when visiting Rome.
We upgraded to a larger room than the basic but it was still very small. However the bathroom was spacious and had a bath . We found the cost a little high for the size of the room but the rest of our experience, which was so positive, made up for any shortcomings.

Excellent hotel in a very good location. Excellent breakfast selection. Only problem for me was that there are no coffee facilities in the room. Staff were pleasant and very helpful.
The shower cubicle had rather narrow dimensions. It was very hot and the air conditioning struggled to keep the room cool (but the days I was there the temperature was over 36 degrees). Also the aircon was controlled centrally although when I asked for the temperature to be reduced it was done immediately with no argument. Room a bit small but for one person it was acceptable.

Beautiful hotel, great location and a good variety of food at breakfast. Aircon in the rooms amazing.
Did ask for a kettle in my room for the weekend as I would have to leave for day trips before breakfast was served, and I had paid for breakfast. Didn't get a kettle. I had an adjoining room and had screaming children in the next room, not the hotels fault.

The hotel is in a good area with tram, metro and buses nearby plus near the Palazzo Popolo and Borghese gardens. The hotel interior is very luxurious and so are the rooms. The breakfast is a buffet that is extremly various and the coffee is percolated and smooth to taste. Staff are helpful and friendly too.
We stayed in mid February with temperatures in the low teens centigrade and the air conditioning took some time to warm up our room. Probably to be expected when visiting a warm climate in winter and not a criticism of the hotel.

The room hotel size was super small, but I was aware when we booked it (so I won't complain about that); our goal was to sleep in a place close enough from the Olimpyc Stadium (we went for Coldplay concet). The breakfast was good enough.
The shower was really small and a bit uncomfortable. There were two different elevators and that was a bit tedious. The first lift went from the entrance hall to the first floor and then there was another elevator that went from the first floor to the other different floors. This last lift "wasn't specially close" from the first one in a walking distance... and, moreover, this second elevator was very small. By the way, our room was located (or hidden) behind a kind of firebreak door with no numbers on it... it took us a few minuts to find it.... even the maid working in our floor wasn't sure where it could be...

Hotel primarily impressed us with its location, because it is a 2-minute walk from Piazza del Popoplo, as well as the Flaminio metro station. This means that you are e.g. on foot in 20 minutes to the Trevi Fountain or 30 minutes to the Pantheon. The hotel certainly justified its appearance with 4 stars because everything is as in the pictures, everything exudes the style of Rome. The breakfast is beyond expectations, as is the friendly staff ready for advice from 0-24 hours. The first two days were rainy, but the hotel is there for you with free umbrellas.

Great location! Very helpful, friendly, and professional staff. They helped us with transportation, making reservations, and gave awesome recommendations of where to eat. The lobby/bar is great too! Very big, comfortable. There is also an outdoor patio with a place to refill water.
Our room and bathroom were tiny and the elevator situation wasn’t ideal. It is very small and you have to take it up one level to transfer to a different elevator to get to the room. The front desk and bellman were great and offered to run things to our room for us (our shopping bags and metal water bottles when we learned that we couldn’t take them into the colosseum.)
