We had a wonderful stay at Henry’s Hotel in Ortigia. The location was ideal — tucked away just enough to feel peaceful, but still an easy walk to everything. The room was spacious, spotless, and had thoughtful little touches that made it feel special. The rooftop terrace was a real highlight — we loved heading up there in the early evening for an aperitivo before dinner. It was the perfect spot to unwind with beautiful views and a sea breeze. Breakfast was also excellent: fresh, local, and well presented each morning. The staff were absolutely amazing — so friendly, helpful, and made everything feel effortless. We felt genuinely looked after during our stay. We’ll definitely be back next year. Couldn’t recommend it more for anyone visiting Ortigia.

The staff and concierge service was truly outstanding. Faultless. From welcoming us to the venue, to suggestions for where to go, to booking taxis for every journey and preparing aperitif drinks every evening after a long day of exploring. They were superstars. We also loved the artwork decorating the house and the welcoming layout of the sitting room where we befriended some lovely guests.

The bathrooms were a bit tired and need updating. And I would have loved a pool or a bath, although the venue is a stones throw from the beach. The rooms were also quite noisy at night, as they are not particularly sound-proofed. As a light sleeper I negated this by playing white noise on my phone and had a great night's sleep (the beds are incredibly comfortable).

The location was great, but the thing that we like the most was the staff. Every morning Francesca greeted us and was so helpful in making our plans for the day. She was also very helpful prior to our arrival. We were especially thankful for how much she helped us the morning when our rental car would not start, we were trying to communicate with Sixth our rental car agency, however everyone that we spoke to was giving us a different story. Francesca actually spoke on the phone with them clarified that they would not be able to send us a replacement vehicle and helped us arrange for a taxi to take us to the airport the following morning and get us a receipt, she was absolutely wonderful. Whatever she is being paid is not enough.

We were disappointed in the actual room. The common areas were very nice and the location was very nice but the room that we actually got was very different from what we thought we had booked. for over €300 per night, we thought we would have a much nicer room and the pictures we saw online were very different from what we got. we got a room with peeling paint that was very small and didn’t have any of the charm that we saw on the pictures that online. We also thought our room would have a balcony which I believe I paid for. We were told that with all the rain the room with the balcony was no longer available,however, I do believe that we should have received a reimbursement from the hotel for the difference in the cost of the room that I booked versus the room that we actually got.

An exceptional stay in a lovely part of Ortigia. We loved everything about our stay including the fantastic staff and the unbeatable terrace view. The hotel is decorated with antiques and the rooms have a quirky character. It’s situated in the southern part of Ortigia making it close to all the main attractions (and righty new Castello Maniace and Fonte Aretusa) but less full on than the northern part of the city. The best part was eating breakfast and watching the sunsets from the gorgeous terrace overlooking the water. You can enjoy it at your leisure and even bring your own drinks and snacks up there, so you really feel at home at the hotel. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and we felt like we could go to them with anything we needed. Highly recommend this place!

No major disappointments. The wifi in the room was inconsistent. Like plenty of other hotels in Ortigia there is some street noise, but that’s just part of staying so central. They provide earplugs in the room for the light-sleepers.

This is a very unique property and I’m sure every room is different, but oozing with character. Our lower level room looked onto the sea, and was just so special. The best part of the property is the staff. They are just absolutely wonderful. From the moment you walk through the door, they provide a very useful introduction to Ortigia and Siracusa. They make wonderful restaurant recommendations (and make the bookings too), and are very helpful with other matters such as parking. The next best part of the property is the terrace looking on to the sea! Breakfast and sunset aperitivi on the terrace cannot be matched!

Henry’s House is a charming boutique hotel located on the island of Ortigia. This unique property offers a delightful blend of bohemian style and Mediterranean charm. While the rooms may not be the most spacious, ours was strikingly decorated and offered beautiful sea view. The location of Henry’s House is exceptional, situated right on the promenade and within walking distance of Ortigia’s main attractions.

The room was quite tight, and the shower size may be challenging for larger folks. Also, the water pipework seem to be aging now.

The staff at Hotel Henry's House are exceptional and go above and beyond to make sure you have a comfortable stay. They proactively provide excellent information about Ortigia and broader Syracusa to ensure you get the most out of your visit. The rooms are huge and fitted out in an interesting, eclectic style, which we loved, with exceptional sea views. Breakfast on the terrace was delicious and picturesque! Would love to come back one day and stay for longer but it might be hard from Australia!

The view was extraordinary from every vantage point. The ample breakfast offerings were delicious, fresh, and varied. The beds were extremely comfortable. The art in the rooms was charming. The hosts were kind and informative and the welcome drinks were refreshing. They were very generous in allowing us to have the beverages in the mini-bar each day without added cost.

The location was at one end the city, so limits your access to seeing everything, but the views and setting were worth it. My adult daughters missed out on their welcome beverages because there was not always someone available to make them, so make sure to have one when it's offered!

Breakfast was amazing. Great choice of foods and local specialities. Service on terrace was wonderful. The attendees were always there to ask if another coffee was needed. All staff were very kind, warm, and welcoming and going the extra mile to help guests. can't sing their praises enough. Location cannot be bettered. I was grateful for the valet service for our large 6 person vehicle and everything went off without a hitch. The communication between staff and I prior to our arrival and planning the parking/valet was perfect thank to the professionalism of the staff. Staff served us cocktails on the beautiful terrace one evening and it was amazing. Again, the staff was so warm and friendly main for a great experience. Siracusa and Ortigia are so beautiful - my favorite spot in all of Sicily.

The bathroom could be bigger and perhaps better lighting in bathroom and room. No other complaints. A charming place to stay.

Staff very friendly could not do enough for you. Breakfast excellent. Views from terrace beautiful. I would definitely recommend the hotel to others.

Although we understand the desire to have traditional furnishings, they were not always very practical. For example, the chest of drawers only had one drawer which opened properly. Also the seats on the terrace barring the bench are exceptionally uncomfortable- cushions might help. That said these things were minor inconveniences rather than bug issues.
