Even before we arrived at the property, the owner, Giovanni, was in constant touch with us to ensure he understood all our requirements so that he could make our stay as comfortable as possible. When an owner is personally involved in the daily running of a property, you know you're in good hands and everything will be in ship shape! Whenever we would leave or return from a day out, we'd meet Giovanni. He would personally serve us fresh croissants and hot beverages every morning and enquire about our day's plan. He personally helped us with our luggage on arrival and during departure. He organised daily parking for our rented car superbly. He gave us excellent restaurant recommendations and sightseeing tips. The B & B is superbly located with so much of Siracusa's old town just a walking distance away. Also there are many restaurants all around, as well as the waterfront from where we could see beautiful sunsets. The famous Puppet Museum and Theater are also walking distance away.

very centrally located.. we were able to explore Ortigia easily from this BnB. it was an old style charming palazzo, with a very spacious high ceilinged room! We were very comfortable and surprisingly it wasn’t noisy at all, considering the central location. Our host Giovanni was so very helpful and kind.. gave us some great restaurant recommendations and other tips. He even arranged for us to have coffee and croissant at a nearby restaurant, to make up for the broken coffee machine. We enjoyed our stay at Palazzo del Sale and I would heartily recommend it to anyone!

The location is excellent, and the proprietor, Giovanni, was very welcoming and helpful in whatever we needed. It’s a 17 century building and Giovanni is such an excellent job. Thank you it comfortable, updated yet authentic. After we got settled, he sat down with us and went over a map of the island in gave us lots of great suggestions. As long as stairs, don’t bother you, this is a great place to go. He provides a light starter breakfast of coffee, croissants and some delicious jams.

The only negative would be the stairs if you have large suitcases, although Giovanni was more than willing to take both of ours up. He carried the heaviest one, and I had the lighter one. He also offered to help bring the suitcases down when we checked out.

Wonderful from start to finish. The room was absolutely stunning and it was the perfect location.

Our host, Giovanni, was super helpful whilst relaxed and friendly. He made excellent local recommendations and wonderful coffee and breakfasts on the terrace. B&B del Sale is in a great location up a quiet street in the southern tip of Ortigia very close to the Piaza del Duomo, the Fontana Di Aretusa and within walking distance of a local swimming beach. Lovely old property renovated in a contemporary style, with quirky local artwork. Our room was very spacious and there is a large, airy lounge to relax in as well. Overall we loved our stay.

Room was enormous and beautiful. Our host, Giovanni, was incredibly kind, generous and welcoming. We very much enjoyed our chats with him on the streetside deck with an excellent coffee and delicious cornetti with home made jams and lemon curd. Location was super central - close to bars for sunset Spritz, easy walk to the piazza and market too. A really comfortable bed too!

The location was ideal. The optional valet parking was definitely worth it. We enjoyed our terrace and the daily croissants and coffee each morning. I also loved the fully opening doors on three sides of the room, giving us lots of natural light and fresh air. Giovanni was very helpful with recommendations as well as helping us find his place.

The bathroom needs a few updates. The outlet was loose and difficult to plug in the hairdryer without the lights turning off. There was no shelf in the shower to put the soap and shampoo. A make-up mirror would be a simple, but useful addition. All small details. We highly recommend!

The room was gorgeous and spacious. Lovely shared space with water, tea and coffee available for the guest. The bed is super comfortable and the shower is amazing. I will be recommending it to others and would love to come back!

Our family really enjoyed the property and found it comfortable for a 3 night stay. It was well located and positioned in Ortigia. The hosts were very accommodating to our needs and provided a handful of recommendations for us as a family of four, two adults and two children aged 6 and 9.

There were no complaints about the property.

Our host Giovanni was attentive, helpful, and very gracious. Our room had an outdoor patio with rooftop views. The room decor was comfortable with uniquely designed. The location was in the historic neighborhoods of Ortigia Island and close to good eateries. All of this for a very reasonable price and good value.

Everything met our interests and then some...
