Great property, very well located in the historical center and Stefano is one of the most hospitable hosts we have ever met. The breakfast was perfect, on the sunny rooftop terrace. Highly reccomended.

Aretusa Vacanze B&B is a lovely place right in the middle of a buzzing area close to the coast. The owner as well as the personnel are very nice and comforting people. The place lets you experience real architecture and room design. It has everything you‘d wish for and a modern bathroom, too. Breakfasting the terrace is beautiful. From this area you quickly can walk to largo Porte marina (there is also public paid parking available) as well as temple of Athena, piazza del doumo or temple of Apollo. Nearby restaurants are also a recommendation. As already mentioned by many former guests, the owner is a great help and gets you reservations in his selection of restaurants. We enjoyed our stay!

Can't say enough good things about Stefano and his wonderful family, who run this comfortable and welcoming B&B in the heart of gorgeous Ortygia—it is a PERFECT location for getting around on foot, though not for driving. We drove in and "nightmare" is a kind way of describing that experience. But Stefano guided us by phone and came out to find us and his son helped bring our baggage in so that we could drive to the parking garage (ESSENTIAL—there is very little public parking). The rooms are clean and comfortable. We were two friends traveling together and there were two bedrooms so lots of privacy and the much needed A/C worked beautifully and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast on the terrace was a highlight because Stefano's father offers a big basket of his homemade jams (everything from mulberry to peach) and you are greeted with warmth and humor and help of any kind. These people work very hard at making your stay as good as it can be. Stefano recommended two very good restaurants, including Osteria Mariano, which is right next to Aretusa, on a narrow street—some of the best pasta we had in Sicily. Aretusa is a five minute walk from the small, local beach—perfect for a dip before lunch. Also: Do not miss the Teatro dei Pupi (the puppet theater and its museum a few blocks away) and the tour of the Greek catacombs below the Chiesi di San Filippo Apostolo.

We were on the first floor, right over a restaurant, so it can be a little noisy around lunch and until about 11PM. If noise bothers you, request a higher room.

If you're not staying at Aretusa Vacanze, you're missing out! The location is perfectly situated in Ortigia for easy access to restaurants, shopping, and swimming. The rooms are spacious, clean, and quiet. Most importantly, you won't find better hosts than Stefano and his family (three generations providing excellent service). Breakfasts were delicious and included fresh breads, pastries, and an assortment of homemade jams made by Stefano's father (try the fig and nuts). The hospitality provided by the family was second to none. While you're there, be sure to ask Stefano for restaurant recommendations - he did not disappoint - every restaurant was excellent and better with each recommendation. When we return to Siracusa, we'll be staying here again.

The bed and breakfast is in the heart of the historic center of Syracuse. The owner Stefano is a very charming young man who helped us with the luggage and parking. He arranged a private city tour for us and a restaurant for dinner. His entire family, parents and kids, work in this family business. The breakfast was great with a wide selection of sausages, croissants, eggs, bacon, coffee, etc. and was served on a roof terrace. There is an elevator in the building which is very helpful. Very easy communication with the owner. Would definitely recommend this property for your stay in Syracuse.

That we have stayed only one night!

Our stay at this location exceeded every expectation. Our host Stefano would greet us each morning on the terrace overlooking the ocean. His family served us a wonderful breakfast. The care taken to every detail was fantastic. Stefano arranged taxis and dinner reservations without our even asking. The dedication to this lovely accommodation by Stefano and his family is something we will never forget. It was a highlight in our travels and we hope to return someday.

great location, walking distance to everything. this family run b&b is just the thing you need to experience when staying in Sicily. Everyone was so helpful, polite, funny & friendly. We stayed in the studio apartment on ground level - it was comfortable & clean, air conditioned, a small kitchenette (we didn't use it, there are so many eatery options) fridge, dining area. There was some street noise, but it is pedestrian only access & was quiet early, even on the weekend. Breakfast is served with smiles & buongiorno's on the roof terrace - accessed by a lift & stairs. You order breakfast the previous night. Stefano & his father mostly served us. Father makes jams. They are all delicious, especially the orange. Scrambled eggs were perfect, fresh bread rolls, yoghurt, croissants. The roof terrace is accessible all the time, we had sunset drinks there one evening. Pay attention to the instructions you receive on where to stop & unload bags. We didn't, resulting in lugging them further than necessary. We were given restaurant tips & Stefano made reservations for us. Take him up on these, he knows the good ones. There are a couples of swimming spots close by. We had the best time at Aretusa. If we return to Ortigia, we would definitely stay again. thank you Stefanon & your beautiful family 😍

We recently had the pleasure of staying at the B&B Aretusa Vancanze and it was truly a wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, the hosts were incredibly welcoming and accommodating. They were always ready with great restaurant recommendations and helpful tips for exploring tourist attractions in the area. One of the highlights of my stay was definitely the delicious breakfast served each morning. Overall, we can't recommend this B&B highly enough. The hospitality, attention to detail, and scrumptious breakfast made our stay unforgettable. We look forward to visiting again in the future.

I was very impressed by the lovely staff and the general charm of the Aretusa B&B. The room was squeaky clean, quiet, the bed very comfy, and everything else in the hotel is well thought out and convenient, from the showers to the pretty fluorescent stars on the bedroom ceiling. The location is as good as it gets on Ortigia without a direct sea view and just a stone’s throw from Fontana D’Aretusa. When you travel a lot, you learn to appreciate genuine friendliness and professionalism in hotel staff: these people all get five stars in my book. Extra points for the delicious home-made jams at breakfast, which also has a nice rooftop view and is thus quite perfect for a couple. Who needs a five star hotel when you can stay in this stellar place? Thank you to Stefano and the rest of the staff for their warm welcome.

A very friendly, family-run B&B, with a comfortable room and an excellent breakfast. Very friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. Many thanks to all, particularly Stefano who did everything he could to ensure we had the best time in Ortigia. He booked restaurants and an excellent boat trip for us. The breakfast was delicious, with gorgeous, sunny rooftop views of the island and beautiful homemade jam and freshly-squeezed juice. On our last day, we had to leave very early for our airport transfer, and the team very kindly left us treats and juices for our journey. Fab location and a beautiful city.
