We stayed three nights in beautiful Spoleto. Our room was comfortable and the location of the hotel was great. we enjoyed being able to have a light breakfast every morning and delicious cappuccino. The staff was very friendly. We lost a wallet during our stay and some kind person returned it to the police. We got a message from the hotel telling us that the wallet had been located with instructions on how to retrieve it. We so appreciated their excellent communication.

This place feels a little stuck in the early 2000s, but that’s abolsutely not a negative thing in the case of this hotel. Yes, there’s a bit of dated feel to the facilities, but then the building is from the 15th century, which puts all that in perspective and adds an extraordinary amount of character to the place. From the dark wooden beams across the ceiling which have seen centuries of guests, to the bright orange phone set from 2003 with a list of quick dials that no one in the digital age needs anymore, all these ingredients make you feel at home without trying. Charismatic staff add to the atmosphere. Did I say I didn’t even pay that much? No, I did not get bribed for writing this review, although the lovely cappuccino I was treated with over breakfast certainly helped shape my opinion. Many thanks ragazzi!

Well, maybe you can consider updating the bathroom a little, but then, why would you? The current one works as it has done for the last 25 years.

Central location, within walking distance of the centre.

Noisy corridor - can hear every guest walking up/down the stairs and entering their room. Was disappointed there was only one iron in the entire hotel, which stopped working. This was despite requesting it in advance, as it was one of the fundamental facilities I required and would not have stayed had there not been an iron available (attending a wedding). Had to spend an hour taking my suit to the dry cleaner instead.

The hotel is located within the historical center and at just a few minutes walking from the main streets. The staff was very helpful and kind, and fluent in English. The breakfast was ok, there were some bread rolls and charcuterie, fruits, yogurt, cakes, and cereal. The room itself was very clean, and cleaned on a daily basis.

The room was on the smaller end, and the noise isolation on the inside was not great.

The property was extremely central so it was the best way to visit Spoleto. The staff were always cordial and ready to help, cleanliness was amazing too! Breakfast was the highlight of my stay I think! Every day, at 7:30am there were vast options on what to eat: fruit yoghurts, fresh fruits, cereals, dry food with jams, Nutella, honey. And there were also meats and cheese, which I didn’t try as they were not part of my vegetarian diet. Fruit juices, hot water, milk and an extremely cordial staff always ready to make fresh coffees and cappuccinos!

The only “side note” is that they had the a sign in the bathroom around avoiding waste and basically to leave towels that I wished to wash on the floor and what I was okay keeping hanging. I followed the directions but everything got washed anyway. I don’t feel like it can be counted as a negative per se, as you can never be too clean especially in similar settings!

Charming hotel in a great location. The breakfast was excellent, there’s a really friendly, helpful lady who makes most of the food - amazing ricotta and potato cakes and lots of lovely baking. She makes exactly the sort of coffee you ask for and she was always ready to make us a second drink,

Nice room but it needed a wardrobe rather than just a coat hanger rail.

Hotel Charleston is based five minutes walk from the Roman Theatre where we saw a great show. The location is perfect! Also, the stuff was were very kind – they upgraded us to a superior room and also booked for us a great restaurant called Sabatini. Highly recommended!

A large room with comfortable king size bed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. You could eat breakfast outside and there was a large variety of food for breakfast. The location was a short five minute walk to the nearest lifts and escalators to the upper parts of the town.

There was nothing not to like

Beautiful hotel extremely well situated. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Very close to all of the main sites of Spoleto. In close walking distance lots of lovely restaurants, highly recommend the "Trattoria Del Festival" excellent food and friendly staff.

Position very good looking onto the piazza. Very well situated in the old town. The breakfast was quite an adequate choice of cereals & cakes, would have preferred more fruit. The terrace.for breakfast in the shade looking onto the square was perfectly placed for a relaxed start to the day
