A truly unique stay in a historic home. We stayed in the Greta Garbo suite, which had a huge balcony with a fantastic view of Taormina Bay. It is high above the town a bit of a drive up but less than 5 mins walk on foot to the town square. Gardens are beautiful and a lovely looking pool and, of course, the museum, which is basically the downstairs living and dining room, the tour and history is really fascinating. An unusual place but worth the experience.

If you have an interest in history and art then this is the place for you in Taormina. And if that wasn't enough then there are some spectacular views over the town with Mount Etna as a backdrop, all surrounded by fantastic gardens and a soon to be commissioned swimming pool. Casa Cuseni will not provide you with a typical hotel experience for which Taormina has plenty to offer if that is what you are looking for. But what is does provide is character and loads of it, from the artefacts and works of art in every room (including the bedrooms which are very well proportioned), to the breakfast which is simple but wholesome, to of course the staff who are fantastic whether it be providing you a guided tour of the museum to recommending local restaurants. Things of note, Casa Cuseni is built into the mountains side and therefore on multiple levels. There is lift to assist and there are plans to install a lift from the parking area up to the house, which will save lugging cases up and down the hill. Additionally the town is below the hotel, so easy to walk down to dinner, not so easy walking back up, although there are taxis available in the town itself. Parking was easy and where necessary your car will be moved to a secure offsite parking. It's also work remembering that every penny goes towards maintaining the museum and its grounds for future generations. You don't get that at your average Hilton!

Having to leave.

Casa Cuseni is an absolute gem! The house, which has a Museum section, is beautiful, full of history and exquisite decor! I stayed with my mother in the Daphne suite and we loved it, the balcony had the most stunning views to the Ionic sea and the Etna Mount. And it's only a short walk to the main street of Taormina! Also I need to mention the attention: Maria and the breakfast service ladies were very kind, helpful and made us feel welcomed and at home. The breakfast was very varied and delicious. Maria was also the best guide during the tour around the Museum!

EVERYTHING! Wonderful property, gardens, suite, breakfast, location, amenities!!! AND, the staff… Maria, FABULOUS! Her guided tour was so enjoyable, informative and entertaining! She is one of the “treasures” of Casa Cuseni. Mema was also so kind, helpful and a real pleasure to meet and get to know. Dr. Francesco was a real gentleman and so kind. We recommend this property to EVERYONE! You will be so glad you stayed there. MOLTO BENE!

Nothing, it was Magnificent!

Wonderful location with great views of the sea and Etna, the property has a lovely and well cared for garden, with pool. We felt honored to be accommodated where so many artists and writers have spent time. We loved the breakfast, daily fresh fruits and hot and cold plates, and the very spacious rooms with 18th century furniture.

No one at the reception during the night, which is ok if everything goes well, but one night there was a really loud party which woke us up from a neighboring hotel.

Our stay at Casa Cuseni was truly memorable. What stood out the most was the fascinating history of the place. The house itself has a unique identity, rich with stories and cultural significance. It was incredibly impressive to have the opportunity to sleep in such a historically important and beautifully preserved home. The experience of staying at Casa Cuseni is like stepping back in time, surrounded by art and history, making it a must-visit for anyone interested in the cultural heritage of the area.

The owners go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. We had a few special requests, such as an early check out (which meant our car had to be collected for us earlier), and everything was done as promised. The reception and check-out were seamless and there are lots of small touches that make it feel as if you are visiting friends. The view is beautiful and our room was extremely spacious. The place oozes charm and old world ambiance. There was scented jasmin in the garden. This place is perfect for someone who wants to stay somewhere with history and an authentic feel. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Nothing. I liked it all.

The house is incredible and feels like time has stood still. The staff were absolutely lovely. The room was exceptional with an incredible view and very very comfortable. Breakfast was lovely and we also were able to relax by the pool. I loved the beautiful gardens and smell of the jasmine.

I didn't realise we needed to book a tour and was very keen to learn more about the house's history. The staff made the time to do a tour and they had to go out of their way to help. It would be useful to know that booking a tour in advance is necessary.

The view , the history, the art, friendliness, the quiet, the kindness, the garden....and did I mention the view

We were let down by a taxi arranged by the hotel and the staff didn't have an alternative option - small point. It is a steep walk from the town but thats not the hotels fault and you wouldn't get the view otherwise!

An amazing property with a very special history and story. The most fantastic view of the coastline and of Mount Etna. Original art work and furniture make the place one of a kind. Lovely gardens. The staff, especially Maria, were welcoming and friendly and full of passion for their lovely house. Great breakfast choices of mostly cold items but eggs cooked to order. Lovely sunny breakfast room at the top of the property. Only five bedrooms are let to guests so very personal. No dinner option but there are so many wonderful places to eat in Taormina. An expensive bed and breakfast but worth it to stay in this unique place and to know that our money is going part way to preserving it.
