I didn't expect such an amazing place, because the photos didn't show very well how nice it's in there. The owners were really friendly - not only they waited for us when we were a bit late for the checkout but also helped us carry the baggage. This is extraordinary ❤️ Also, the owner woke up earlier to prepare a breakfast at 6:45 for us because we were leaving for an early Bernina Express 🙇
It was a bit of a trouble with parking as the place is in the historical site of Tirano and there are only private parking spots next to the house. There's a free parking at the tennis club ~300m from the place though :)

What a wonderful, quirky B&B. Full of history & at times it felt as if we had been transported back many centuries, in fact part of the house is opened up at times as a museum! We had a very nice room with great views of the garden & distant mountains. Also appreciated the complimentary bathroom robe & slippers. Perfect place to stay if, like us you were headed on the Bernina railway to Switzerland. Niccolo & Martina were the perfect hosts. Loved the decor, much of which is very old. Staying here is a no brainer. Just ticks ALL THE BOXES. Amazing!
There was absolutely nothing not to like other than the loo hinge being a bit loose!

It was a gorgeous luxurious property with clear history. I was able to check in late after my late train. The host made a gorgeous breakfast spread with homemade marmalade, baked goods, fruit, cereal, etc. The view was stunning. They provided slippers, robes, and toiletries. Waking up to birds singing and that view was incredible.
The bathroom curtains were lace and see through so I felt more comfortable after hanging some clothes on the window for privacy to shower. The shower water was cold no matter what I did, which was rough because I was hoping to warm up after getting soaked in the rain a few hours before. These are minor things and I would absolutely stay here again!

This is a great place to stay, full of period charm which is not contrived but comes from having been owned by the same family for a long time. We really enjoyed our conversations with Niccolo as well, and loved the wooden walls and antique bathrooms and beds. Also local specialities for breakfast The town of Tirano is on a well know tourist route at the end of the Bernina line, yet it doesn't feel in any way like a tourist trap. The local restaurants are the real deal...I suspect most people only pass through, but it's worth a longer look.

Everything about this beautiful palazzo is amazing you are literally staying in living history. The location in the old town is perfect only a short walk from the train station and next to palazzo Salis. The building has been in the hosts family for generations each room is a delightful piece of history but with modern facilities. Breakfast was delicious the welcome so warm and I was given great advice on how best to enjoy Tirano. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend my wonderful hosts.
That I had to leave.

Lovely hosts and a surprise to stay in such an unusual setting. Not what we were expecting but a pleasant surprise to stay in a charming and elaborate palace that had been in the family for years. Buffet breakfast laid out in the huge charming kitchen with a friendly dog and cat! A comfortable bathroom with all the modern equipment and yet still in the style of the house/palace which was also a museum. We enjoyed our stay and also it was ideal for our stopover in Tirano and would recommend this property. We also enjoyed a nice meal in the restaurant at the end of the street.
The room was a little cold at first but we were given extra blankets and covers and so were toasty warm in bed. We felt the hosts were happy to help out with anything we needed.

„Palazzo Lambertenghi“ is a Renaissance-style private Palace and museum right in the old town/town centre of Tirano! It’s an impressive building with beautiful period interior - very tastefully furnished! Next door to Palazzo Salis, also a beautiful palazzo in Renaissance style… Niccolo, the friendly and welcoming host/owner, his wife, their cute little son & the sweet dog are the hosts and take absolutely best care of their guests. They recommended 2 restaurants nearby, which were both simply outstanding with really good food and drink - and just around the corner! In the morning they offer a fantastic breakfast in the old kitchen with delicious products of regional origin. There is home-made bread, fresh fruit, cheese & cold cuts, jam, fantastic Cappuccino and juice. What more could one ask for?! The bedrooms are incredibly beautiful with their period-furniture and you truly feel like a Duke or Count yourself when residing in there! All contemporary luxuries like nice shower and bath, bath robes & slippers as well as nice toiletries are all on offer! I felt really sorry to have only 2 nights at this fantastic accommodation!
To my taste, the bed was just way too soft! But that is just my personal taste… Otherwise there was nothing I could complain about.

This centuries old house is the most unique place I have ever stayed! Everything about my room was special from the wood in the ceilings, walls & floors to the furniture and antique objects. Fabulous! The bathroom was also wonderful with an old tub and a modern, freestanding shower. The bed was comfortable as was everything else. The owners were very kind and personable and provided a good breakfast, and the location was a convenient 10-minute walk from the train station. I highly recommend staying here!

Like stepping back in time or staying in a museum! Beautiful house/castle in a beautiful town. Really like this approach to preserving history - by continuing to live in it as people have been doing since they were first built! Can see it throughout the town in the new architecture complimenting and preserving the old. Wonderful room, the family were lovely, the facilities were great and the location was fantastic. Don’t second guess just book here you won’t regret.

The house is a wonderful place to stay and is a treasure trove of cherished items from another time. Everywhere you turn there is something to delight the eye. Such lovely surroundings with colour and artwork on each floor. We were welcomed and treated like special guest by Martine and Nicolò and our room was comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was delicious with a wide choice of cheeses, pastries and ham. The whole place is beautiful with the kindest of hosts.
We liked everything but maybe next time we’d choose a lower floor with less stairs all though the hosts are always willing to help with luggage. We were travelling light so it wasn’t a problem.
