The location is absolutely stunning, breathtaking views right from the room. The interior design is elegant, with natural materials that create a cozy alpine atmosphere. The restaurant deserves a special mention. The absolute highlight of my summer was the steak tartare “Freina Style” with mustard ice cream. The combination was refined, creative, and absolutely delicious. The hotel is family-run, and you can feel the care in every detail. It’s a perfect blend of comfort, style, and heart. Highly recommended!

The only thing that felt a bit inconvenient was the glass wall in the bathroom, especially since we were traveling with a teenager.

Loved the room service We got the suite which was located on the top floor and the view was amazing. It was also extremely spacious and tastefully decorated. It was extremely clean and well-kept - the balcony, even outdoors, was spick and span, i was thoroughly impressed by this! The hotel even provided free aperitivos on some days which was an amazing surprise post hikes Extremely convenient to have one of the best restaurants in town within this hotel as well which makes lazy days easy - we just had to hop down for dinner The saunas and wellness pool was also an amazing experience. The family hosts running this hotel are extremely wam and welcoming

Loved so much about this place—the family that runs it was so helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our spacious room and wrap around balcony with Mountain View’s. They had e-bikes, helmets, and day packs available for us to borrow at a moments notice. They also had great spa facilities to unwind after exploring in the mountains. The included breakfast was excellent with a la carte options included as well. And the dinner at their restaurant was the best meal of our trip. The ravioli was to die for!

We had a wonderful experience — the hotel is cozy, clean, and perfectly located. What made it unforgettable was the amazing family behind it. They were there from breakfast to dinner, always present, kind, and attentive to every detail. The food was delicious, the service felt personal, and we truly felt at home. Can’t wait to come back!

Man, what didn't we like? As soon as we turned up, Susanna was there with a huge smile welcoming us to this wonderful hotel. She gave us the keys and bus passes and let us know there was a restaurant on site. As we entered the room all of our troubles melted away, it was beautiful. Tastefully designed, spacious and a view that took our breath away. The bed was extremely comfortable. We got there late, so we decided to check out the wellness room, and it didn't disappoint. It was as if you'd be transported to another universe, immersive sauna, steam room and salt room. The whirlpool is fantastic for a finisher, after you've sweated out your troubles and had a shower. The seats are even heated, the wellness room blew us away, to the finest details. But it doesn't end there, the relaxation room next door makes you want to just live in there, forever. We also ate in the restaurant, the food was sublime. I'm a Coeliac, and the gluten free menu is one of the best I've seen, the pasta was perfectly al dente and flavour combinations on point. The service was always attentive and kind. The crew really make you feel at home. Breakfast, again, was one of the best we've ever had the pleasure of having in our lives. Honestly, I just can't speak highly enough of these guys and what they've created. It's a truly special experience, and for the price of what you'd pay for a basic room in Sydney, it is genuinely mind blowing and you'd be stupid to miss out on the Hotel Freina experience. Thank you so much guys, it was wonderful. We will absolutely be back very soon.

The property was fabulous and clean, the spa section is cosy and clean. Our room was big and clean and had every amenity we needed. We had a fantastic view on the mountains. The breakfast was wonderful - a lot of choices and delicious. The staff was very professional and pleasant. It was an exceptional stay.

Accommodations were excellent; apparent continued upgrading makes the facility look like new. Everything was fresh and clean, spotless. Facility is family owned and they all work in the hotel together to make a well-oiled machine. They were some of the nicest people we met on vacation and met every need. I would go back to Selva Gardena again just to visit this hotel.

Hotel Freina is one of several small establishments in the area between Val Gardena and Wolkenstein. It is surrounded on all sides by lovely mountain views and is within easy walking distance to shops, restaurants and the Ciampinoi cable car. The rooms are generous in size, modern with a rustic flair, super clean and comfortable. The onsite underground parking is also a huge bonus. On the evening of my arrival I thoroughly enjoyed dinner in the restaurant on premise, starting with the fried ravioli appetizer, followed by an exquisitely prepared and plated venison, and finished with a lemon gelato with a limoncello pour-over. All delicious! The included breakfast on their private patio was delicious and plentiful with many fresh baked goods and strong coffee. On the day of my departure, the staff graciously allowed me to keep my car on premise so I could take advantage of Ciampinoi and an afternoon of hiking. They offered great advice on other hiking opportunities in the area as well. This is a small, family owned establishment, and it shows in the personal attention paid to guests. I highly recommend Hotel Freina and hope to return.

I was a bit disappointed in the bed, assuming that I had booked a queen size mattress, but ended up with 2 twins placed together. Being that I am a tall guy, it was a bit challenging to adjust to the "crease" down the center. This seems to be a common issue in European hotels.

Amazing family who runs the hotel, amazing workers. Everyone is helpful and welcoming. They go above and beyond. I’ve stayed in many 5-star hotels and I still had a lot of “firsts” in this one, they think of every little detail. Spectacular food, great rooms, and exceptional service.

Wonderful family run hotel with exceptional service. We travel extensively as a family and I can safely say this was one of the best experiences we have ever had. There is ample parking. The hotel's restaurant is wonderful and there are other lovely options around the corner. The location is fantastic with great hiking all around and Sassolungo at your doorstep
