The interior design is absolutely lively.

The Savoia once was a lovely hotel, but now huge cruise ships, sometimes bigger than the hotel itself, park right in front of the hotel, though I do not know how often. The rooms with with sea view should correctly be renamed rooms with a ship view. There is no possibility to get Cappuccino before the actual breakfast starts. For me, the Savoia always was THE best hotel in Triest, but with the cruise ships the charm has gone.

Opted for the car valet service for parking as there is a limited amount of space directly at the hotel entrance - service was much appreciated. Really amazed by the room and view - everything matched to what was promised. Bar staff were very friendly and attentative. Could not have wished for a better location and despite being on the main road the room was quiet at all times of the day and night.

Layout of the breakfast room could be improved - selection was good, however, think there is also room for improvement. Never dined in the restuarant in the evening, didn't seem so welcoming.

Booked the hotel primarily for its location opposite the port but soon discovered Trieste is a lovely place to visit. Superb hotel and facilities.

Additional charges for certain items on the breakfast menu and for room service. It should all really be included as an omelette shouldn’t really warrant additional costs.

No USB charging spots in room. We paid for a sea view and all we could see was a huge cruise ship - disappointing. Couldn't really use the public spaces as there was an ongoing medical convention.

An exceptional hotel with a wonderful atmosphere and sophisticated style. The location is excellent. We had booked a classic double room for one night, which was upgraded for free to a suite. It was incredibly beautiful and very comfortable. Huge bathroom with all the necessary amenities, cosmetics, hairdryer, as well as a wardrobe with plenty of space for luggage. The bed was great. Oh, the coffee in the room made us feel really in Italy. And last but not least - the breakfast. We are impressed by the taste and variety of breakfast. Everything was tastefully selected. We recommend the hotel and will come back again.

Lavishly exquisite hotel, with an atmosphere of the elegance of a bygone era. The room was very clean, well equipped, more than spacious and uniquely luxurious, with a breathtaking view of the Adriatic and the city's coastal landscape. The staff were very friendly and courteous and assisted very much in making our stay even better! A rich and very varied breakfast was on offer. We also very much appreciated the room upgrade kindly offered to us!

In few parts of the room carpets (e.g. frequently walked on areas) there were faint remains of stains but they were otherwise clean. Nothing else noted.

Best location you will find! This hotel has everything you need. Booked a room with balcony, water view and was upgraded to an additional room with kitchen. The kitchen had an espresso machine which we used a lot. Four pods (two were decaf) supplied so we bought additional, MV, stove and frig. The free breakfast was adequate and the coffee quite good. The view is to die for. The rooms were quite comfortable and the staff very welcoming. A shout out to the concierge who was very helpful to us!

Be careful using the tub showers. The half glass is not locked down as it was in the previous hotel we stayed. There are no bars to hold onto and if you touch the glass, it will give way and take you over the side of the tub. Happened to me and ruined three vacation days

didn't like: - breakfast restaurant staff did not speak a word of English - reception and bell staff ignorant (except for the Serbian girl who was very good in her service, didn't manage to read the name from the scarf she was wearing) - breakfast selection below average - only one coffee pill in the room for 2 people

The location, the space and decor, the valet parking service, the bedding (excellent mattress and big variety of pillows), the efficient room service. Oh yes, and thooooose turquoise slippers! In general, it’s good value for money.

Anything that had to do with food. Especially food at the bar is bad: unnecessarily huge portions of mediocre fast food, it’s really a shame for such an establishment; one needs smaller portions of finer quality. Although breakfast is good, also bread and croissants were not as fresh as one wants them in the morning. Toiletries also were not “à la hauteur”.

The balcony room overlooking the Gulf of Trieste was spacious and very well appointed, This was our second visit to this very fine traditional hotel. Two of the staff (the head porter Alexandro and concierge Ariane) recognised us from last year. Valentina on reception gave us both a charming welcome. We do really enjoy staying at this exceptional hotel. All the staff are very friendly and take pride in working in such an iconic establishment. Others have informed us that this is the finest in the Starhotels Group of hotels in Italy. We will be back again for sure.

The hot breakfast dishes could have been warmer. Occasionally the orange juice at breakfast was not quite up to scratch. It may need to be sampled by a staff member beforehand.
