I gave tip on each services , then during the checkout - like in the USA - tip also for the final invoice . For what ? I know it is voluntary but who is gonna say no when question is coming. I will reconsider to come back again. Very bad taste in my mouth after a great experience .

An amazing place - as long as the huge cruiser ships don't park right in front of the balcony / window. From that point on - goodbye sea view, hello housing estate walls and windows...

The staff was very helpful. We were given an umbrella when it rained and allowed to use the ramp instead of the revolving door, since my husband is blind. Coffee and tea facilities in the room were excellent. The hotel and room were impeccable. Location of hotel is excellent.

There could be more electrical sockets where one can charge their mobile phones - particularly by the bedside. The sauna was not functioning, when we visited. The mattress could be softer. One mattress on a double bed (as opposed to two conjoined ones) would have been more comfortable. Loud music from a nearby pub/restaurant/discotheque could be heard at night.

Everything is excellent, the place (the hotel and the room as well is something that worth all the money). The room is beautiful, nicely arranged and designed and equipped with all the needs. The air-conditioned works excellent, it's quiet and adjustable as you like (temperature and fan's speed). The personal is kind, helpful and professional; they speak good English as well (I presume even more languages considering the visitors are various nations).

The hotel doesn't have a parking place, but a valet who will drive your car nearby to a guarded garage. Due to this, if the car is needed, you have to inform the reception desk 30 minutes in advance. The cost for the garage/night is 30 €. There are public parking spots on the street where you can park with 1.7€/hour between 8 AM - 8 PM.

We were upgraded to a suite so of course very much enjoyed our room. The hotel’s location right on the seafront opposite the cruise terminal is ideal. The hotel’s concierge is a mine of helpful recommendations, suggesting three different restaurants “where Italians eat” well away from the usual “ristorante pizzeria”. On each occasion the food was excellent and we’d never have tried the restaurants on our own. Everywhere in the hotel was spotless. The ferry to Miramare Castle (summer months only) was a delightful way to reach this tourist spot (well worth a visit), again recommended by the concierge.

Maybe the organisation of breakfast could have been better. It wasn’t at all clear what could be ordered a la carte in addition to the buffet and whether or not an extra charge applied.

Absolutely loved this hotel. We arrived in Trieste at the end of a 12 day cruise, so we just had to cross the road in front of the port, and we were there... perfect! From the moment we walked in, the staff were wonderful. The Consierge even organised a doctor for us, as hubby wasn't feeling well. The room was fabulous, clean, comfortable, and a great view. The location was very convenient, being in walking distance of the heart of Trieste, and lots of great cafes and restaurants. The atmosphere around Trieste is so nice, everyone is friendly, and we felt safe walking around at night.

Waiting in the lobby bar for service was a bit slow. Twice we went down for a drink before going out and we waited quite a while. Also the hotel is used for conventions and meetings so some of the nice areas like the atrium were not able to be used which was a bummer seeing your are paying top dollar for these facilities. I e stayed here many times and was surprised they have introduced a 5% tip at check out. Lucky I read about it as I wasn't told it was optional at check out. I had to bring that up. Is this America? You pay a lot to stay here I can't see why there now is a reason to try and get you to pay towards the wages of staff. They were friendly but the service was not acceptional.

This hotel is very nicely appointed and super well located. The staff is very nice, efficient, and well informed about the area. We have to give a big shout out to the bar downstairs. The bartenders were excellent! We did not get the breakfast with our room, but did opt to add it for our first morning. There seemed to be a bit of a miscommunication about that between departments, but all turned out well. We did have dinner at the hotel as the restaurant is listed as one of the top ten in Trieste. It was very good. It was not excellent, but we were satisfied and we had a very good experience food wise. The service was a bit choppy. Also, we found it difficult to make a reservation online - we were getting the message that the restaurant was full, etc. I texted the concierge, and it was no problem to get the reservation. Indeed, there was no one in the restaurant when we were there, or if there was, they were sitting in a different area. We were taking a cruise after our stay, and the hotel is literally right across the street from the cruise ship port. We really had a very nice stay at this property. For being right on a busy street, it is very quiet. Just a couple of blocks from the historic center too.

The breakfast (if you add it at the hotel) turns out to be about 50 Euro for two. There are hot offerings (eggs, bacon, etc.) but not all the hot offerings were well stocked. Bacon was a bit greasy, but the eggs were well made. No option for ordering an omelet or anything else if that is what you like to do. Hotels of this size should probably have some coffee available in the area near the front desk/concierge.

Opted for the car valet service for parking as there is a limited amount of space directly at the hotel entrance - service was much appreciated. Really amazed by the room and view - everything matched to what was promised. Bar staff were very friendly and attentative. Could not have wished for a better location and despite being on the main road the room was quiet at all times of the day and night.

Layout of the breakfast room could be improved - selection was good, however, think there is also room for improvement. Never dined in the restuarant in the evening, didn't seem so welcoming.

The interior design is absolutely lively.

The Savoia once was a lovely hotel, but now huge cruise ships, sometimes bigger than the hotel itself, park right in front of the hotel, though I do not know how often. The rooms with with sea view should correctly be renamed rooms with a ship view. There is no possibility to get Cappuccino before the actual breakfast starts. For me, the Savoia always was THE best hotel in Triest, but with the cruise ships the charm has gone.
