We had the apartment, separate from the main hotel. Perfect. It is about 100m further up the street, on the 3rd (top) floor of an old apartment building. Basically a spacious suite with a large, comfortable and (retro) stylish living room/kitchen-diner in addition to the bedroom and bathroom. This worked well for us as we made our own breakfast and used the apartment’s washing machine. Good restaurants and bars on the street and good walking access to the rest of town. The apartment overlooks a small terraced park through which one can climb up to the cathedral, castle, Winckelman Museum, and a plaza with a view over the city: good for sunset with a drink from one of the kiosks. The hotel staff are great.

This is truly wonderful hotel in the very heart of Trieste, hidden away in a charming little alley. Everything is on your doorstep but without any noise from the street or bars. The rooms are very clean, breakfast was basic but pleasant - very good coffee! We were welcomed with a glass of wine in the evening whilst day time arrivals enjoyed a cup of coffee. The staff very super helpful and friendly. Our room had a nice newly renovated bathroom. Great bonus was an option of secure gated parking 5min walk from the hotel at 15EUR per day. We'd love to stay again.

Nothing really but the building is old and you can hear guests above you walking on the wooden floors quite loud. The bed which was put together to make one double would benefit from a mattress topper as the only thing holding it together was a sheet.

Great location, very central. Beautiful building. The room is just amazing, spacious, beautifully decorated, comfortable, with a large bathroom, huge and comfortable bed, plenty of space... Italian style breakfast is really really good, fresh pastries, amazing selection of honey and jam. There's private parking, available upon request.

We didn't mind it, but noise from the street could bother some people (our room was facing the street, and we kept our window open). Could be tricky to find the location of the private parking (although it's just a few minutes away on foot, and staff will provide really good instructions on how to get there) - my advice is to ask for the location prior to arrival.

Albero Nascosto is a very stylish and comfortable hotel in a great location in Trieste. It is close to all the central sights and restaurants, but it remains a quiet and peaceful haven away from all the bustle outside. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were excellent. We had the top floor room so had to walk up and down numerous flights of stairs going in and out but would have happily tackled more to have our lovely room above the rooftops. We stayed in 12 different hotels in Italy on this trip but (despite some serious competition) the Albero Nascosto was our favourite

Slightly overpriced.

We loved the charming architecture and structure of the hotel. True, no elevator, but our bags were kindly carried up two flights of steps. Our room included a kitchen. It was a light and airy room altogether. A quiet art salon s a common room. A wonderful emphasis on books and arts. Good restaurants are just steps away as is a grocery store and purveyors of fine cheeses, salami, and wine. The only minor complaint was that it smelled of cigarette smoke one evening. We were surprised to see how many people continue to smoke in the city. We live in an almost smoke free place. On Sunday mornings, there is a flea market in the Caravane pedestrian street. A couple of food markets out by Hortis Garden Saturday morning. The visit to the Van Gogh exhibition recommended by the hotel fabulous. Also Roman arch just steps away and not much further a Roman temple. Museo Joyce seems closed. Amazing assortment of jams!

Our taxi driver complained about lack of parking on busy street but a wide spot at Bastion to stop briefly and stop us off.

The property is very centrally located. It delivers very well as a property with an old world charm, beautiful furniture presented well, in stunning rooms. Being family run, each of the staff/family are very willing to help, guide and offer brilliant suggestions in terms of places to eat, things to do etc. The breakfast is abundant, with a choice of many flavours of honey and preserves to go with your breads, alongside fruit, nuts, yogurt, coffee and freshly baked croissants. It is a lovely place to stay in Trieste.

The 1st floor apartment provides stylish, comfortable, functional accommodation and is in a prime location within easy walking distance of the central tourist attractions. The kitchen and bathroom work well and the rear bedroom is peaceful.

The apartment felt enclosed. There are tall buildings across the narrow street at the front & an atrium at the rear surrounded by other dwellings. Traffic noise was an issue at times. Best to keep windows closed and use a/c

Location was amazing - right in the old city center only a short walk to the central piazza, harbor, and restaurant/nightkife area. But its in aquiet street and very peaceful. The staff was ver welcoming an helpful and the room was very comfortable with the best bed we’ve had on this trip.. as an added bonus theire is even a laundromat across the street.

Nothing to speak of,

The room was quite spacious with ample outlets for charging our electronics. Beds were comfortable. Room had air conditioning which we had complete control over. Bathroom was fine - plenty of hot water, although just a little tight for two people. Breakfast was nicely presented with good quality food to choose from. What was especially nice were the local jams and honeys to choose from.

It was not a problem for us, but guests should be aware there is no elevator in the building and if you're on a higher floor - which we were - you'll need to walk up and down each time to arrive and leave the hotel.
