Smart Rooms Trieste is a clean, quiet, and well-located accommodation, ideal for a short stay in the city. The rooms are large, tidy, and equipped with all the essentials — towels, sheets, wardrobe, and even a large TV with casting capability. The beds are comfortable, ensuring a good night’s rest. The property is perfectly situated between the central train station and Trieste’s main piazza, making it easy to explore on foot. Shared bathrooms are spotless and surprisingly convenient, with a good balance between private and shared facilities, so waiting is rarely an issue. There’s also a small coffee/dining area with basic amenities, and a secure bike storage space near reception — perfect for cyclists. WiFi is fast and reliable, and the atmosphere is calm despite the central location. The self-check-in instructions were clear and easy to follow, making arrival smooth.

The lack of air conditioning can be noticeable in summer, but the quiet setting and central access make up for it.

The location was fantastic and so was the cleaness. The clerk that received us was quite pleasant too.

It was a bit hot in the room. We had a fan but ni air conditioning to cool it. The beds were a bit small though comfy mattres. There was a guy who seemed to live next door and had the door open which showed little intimacy. It was pribably due to the heat. There was no contact before arrival so we did not know how we were supposed to get the key nor any mobile phone to be able to text.

The room was very spacious, cleaned and bright as described and shown in the pictures in a central area which I found quiet and safe. In a few minutes walking you can reach many points of interest. Bed was really comfy, the bathroom cleaned with everything you need. The host was absolutely amazing, she texted me and provided all the informations needed for the check in which was extremely easy and added a set of towel last minute. Very helpful!

Unfortunately the curtains were thin and see through. Not a big deal overall.

Everything is within walking distance to local amenities and attractions with a wide variety of restaurants and cafe's. Being able to park near our accommodation without paying for parking due to the public holiday was a bonus. The people are quite friendly and helpful if you get stuck trying to find your way around. I recommend you visit the local fashion exhibition if you enjoy this type. We were provided with a map of the city which was very helpful as well.

Getting around in a car in the city.

Excellent location. We only spend the one night, so really just needed the room to sleep, and it serves that purpose perfectly. If we were staying longer, we'd probably look for a different space. That being said, this one offered kitchen and other common areas if you needed. The room itself was big enough, with a small bathroom.

Didn't really offer toiletries, although it said it did.

Everything was ok, smooth booking and check in processes, host available for any questions. The place was clean, there were 2 bathrooms, a large common space, a balcony. The room was nice, bed was comfortable. Decent check out time. The location was very good, walking distance to the train station and the center. Good place to stay in Trieste.

location is very good - a few minutes from train station, a bicycle route and from historic city centre... staff was helpful. they stored our bikes on the terrace - we have had access to them whenever we liked... shared bathroom was also fine because there are 2 of them, so one of them was always free when we needed to use it.

The location, 15 minutes walk from the station and just minutes from the "grand canal" was excellent. The price was very reasonable. Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was minimal but fine. The room was quite spacious and the two shared bathrooms were kept very clean.

I requested a quiet room but was given one directly on the street. Noisy street cleaning vehicles are active from 6am! Right opposite, a building is having its facade renovated so the air and dust contamination can be pretty extreme. The curtains in the bathroom need to be fitted better to give proper privacy. The white walled rooms were perhaps a touch sterile.

Large room very clean and freshly renovated. Some breakfast provided in a large dining area with balcony a microwave for people to use if they wanted, though no washing up possibility, just reheating in microwave, no 'proper' kitchen per sec. Great location near the beautiful canal area, very safe. Good access via a lift.

I should have read the small print, but just to warn people who don't realise, it's fan only, NO A/C. It was OK when I was there early July, but I think it would be way too hot with just a fan any time after that.

Smart rooms is perfectly located in the center of Trieste. The staff was always available and helped us when we needed information and to store our luggage the day of checkout. During summer they provide a nice basic breakfast which helps start the day with the right foot. We had a room with shared bathroom and there was always an available bathroom when we needed it. The bathroom is big and comfortable. The room had a desk and the wifi speed was remarkably fast - a rarity on budget hotels.
