I chose Barbar Piran Beach Hotel for its proximity to the beach and wasn't disappointed! The water is literally just outside the hotel and easily accessible. But be warned that the beach is a stone beach (not sand). I didn't do my research and so I didn't properly prepare the kiddos for stones. But they still enjoyed getting into their swimsuits and playing in the water. The rooms we stayed in were very compact, but had all the necessities. The kids loved having a balcony that allowed them to go outside and have fresh air whenever they wanted it. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of options to choose from: baked goods, meats, cheeses, veggies, cereal, and yoghurt, as well as several fruit juices. It's about a 15-20 minute walk into Piran proper, along a lovely cliff-side path. We walked back from Piran to the hotel in the evening and were able to witness the sunset over the ocean, which was just lovely.

Paying for parking was a bummer, but also unavoidable. It was convenient to leave the car at the hotel and then be able to walk into town.

The Hotel is stylish theme, fresh, retro very nice decoration. Very comfortable beds, we slept very well. The room had a great view on the sea as well to the nearby small lake. Breakfast had great selection. The receptionists was excellent. Big thank to David who brought us to a nearby city and gave good tip on the locations. The staff were good and attentive. The short walk to Piran along the sea was a very nice scenery.

The only surprise was that I found the prize of 1/2 liter White House wine a bit too expensive.

We really loved this hotel itself and its location. It's only 15 minutes a beautiful walk along the sea and the hotel is located in a very quiet charming location. The breakfast was really good. From the reviews, many people complained about paid parking, even in off season. In our case it was €21/day. What people don't realize is that government is charging the hotel for that parking space, and they have no choice but charge us. The room cost was very reasonable, more than twice cheaper than 4-star Piran Hotel and we really enjoyed our stay here.

Mattress and blankets were good, the pillows could be bit better or more than just one per person.

Super breakfast with wide range of variety. Location is great, short distance walk from the City and quiet surrounding.

The menu in the local restaurant could contain more foods or specialties at dinner time. Small remark: Cleaning service was executed every day independently of our sign, that we do not want cleaning on a certain day. Positive effect that our room was always clean and towels were exchanged, but it should not have done if not requested considering environmental effects.

The facilities were nice. Unfortunately I’m unable to comment on a lot of the beach facilities because it was rainy when we visited. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It is about a 20 min walk to Piran which was good for us as we were driving and didn’t want to drive into the city. Had a great view and balcony. Breakfast buffet was good.

A couple things with the room itself. There is a small step immediately outside the door which is a serious fall/trip hazard. Our room had a door joining the room next door. We could basically hear everything from the room next door even though our neighbours were not talking or watching TV at a high volume. We realized that the lock on the door basically provided a hole to look into the next room, so a severe lack of privacy. Also keep in mind if using the path to go to Piran that it can get a bit perilous in a storm/windy situation and you’ll need to take a taxi back. It’s also not really lit if you’re returning after dark. (Nothing the hotel can do about this just an FYI). Would be great to have some wrapped gluten free bread options at breakfast buffet.

Breakfast is fantastic, and you couldn't be any closer to the ocean without getting wet and the staff are lovely and friendly. Really nice place

Advertised as Piran and its about a 15min walk which is beautiful in the summer but shocking in the rain and no chance you're able to do it with a kids buggy or wheel chair. 21 euro to park your car there is a disgrace ( I don't agree that you should pay to park at a hotel anyway) 21 euro is a rip off and there is no where else to park. The advert for booking.com offered rooms without a sea view or for slightly more money a sea view, we paid extra but when we checked in found out all rooms are sea view so no need to pay more. Don't get me wrong, this is a beautiful place. Just be upfront with extras as this hotel seemed reasonable, but with extras, it's the same price as everywhere else in the area.

The hotel is located in the beautiful lagoon,which has amazingly clean water and not very windy. it is just 15-20 min walk to centre of Piran by the path next to the sea shore. The stuff is very nice and friendly and the hotel is quiet clean and neat. the beach part wasn’t working yet-we came before the main season started,but it looks like it should be an awesome one.

I don’t want to sound very criticising,but the advert in booking is not giving a proper introduction to the hotel services included into the list. Guests need to be aware that they will have extra costs for parking,spa (which is actually just wellness saunas) and deck chairs.

Hotel Barbara offers a perfect location to stay near Piran. You can relax in the private beach area during the day and venture into Piran in 15 minutes on foot for a lovely visit and dinner. The hotel restaurant was excellent and the sunset view over the Adriatic is spectacular. Staff were very helpful and responsive. The room was all we needed for a few days by the seaside with a large mini-frig to store drinks and comfortable beds. We also received a complimentary room upgrade at check in which made the trip extra special!

Parking is tight but with a little patience a spot will open up at the hotel.

Placement of the hotel just by the seaside. The rooms were practical and nice. The restaurant dinner and breakfast were both lovely, and sitting with a sunset and sea view on the terrace was amazing. The hotel had three stars but could easily aspire to obtain the fourth. It is really 3.5 already. The personnel were very helpful and kind. We got to store luggage after checkout so we could walk to Piran centre for sightseeing and they kindly made it possible for us to have a last swim and a shower by the beach before we traveled onwards. They recommended a hotel from same chain in Kranjska Gora which we ended up staying at as well. So good service all the way through!

Parking spaces are limited and expensive. 20€ if you park on site or 18€ if you park overnight (+10hours) at the public parking area little back into land. The free drinks tickets you are offered on arrival are just for fruity soft drinks - harmless but a slightly silly way to lure people to try the beach bar facilities.

Loved everything about this property! The staff were very attentive and welcoming. Location on headland was magical. Room with balcony overlooking the sea clean, comfortable and modern. It was a 20 min walk around headland to the old town centre but unfortunately we did not try this out. Meals were wonderful. Parking was available for us at the property. Could sit and enjoy a cigarette with drink on the deck over the sea🙏
