The hotel offers a stunning view of the seaside, just a few steps away from the beach. It features both indoor and outdoor pools, providing great options for relaxation. The room was comfortable, equipped with air conditioning, and the balcony door was soundproofed, ensuring a peaceful stay.

The food options were not very varied, the restaurant was always crowded and the staff could have been friendlier. Both the indoor and outdoor pools were filled with seawater; a freshwater alternative would have been nice. For three consecutive nights, there was no hot water, though we did receive a discount after complaining. The parking lot was overcrowded, and if you leave your spot, don’t expect to find another one when you return.

Location was good, lots of small bars and cafes locally. Close distance to Portoroz - we paid €20 for a taxi for 6 but there is also a bus. Piran is a 20 minute walk but there is bus to there also. The indoor pools are great for kids (albeit very hot if you are not swimming). There is also a small games room and ‘play room’ near reception which both of our children enjoyed.

Outdoor pool is being renovated despite it being shown on the booking.com listing, so you could only use the indoor pools which is a shame when the weather is so good. You can also swim in the sea but it’s not always suitable for small children. Breakfast is ok, nothing spectacular but fine if you are only staying for a few days. Pool towels are not provided but you can pay €3 per towel to use one from the hotel

The hotel is in a nice location between Portorož and Piran. It is nicely furnished and decorated. All the staff were very nice and helpful. We got clean towels every day, the room was clean. There are bathrobes to use when you want to go to Termaris water park. Breakfasts were amazing, there were lots of various delicious foods to choose. The receptionists were also nice and helpful. It was no problem to park our car at the hotel parking lot, there was enough space. Water park Termaris is wonderful, it's connected with the hotel, so you can go there without leaving the hotel - useful when it rains. There's a terrace where you can sunbathe and look at the sea. As for the bathing - you have three options to choose - the water park, outdoor pool or the sea. Great!

Although our holiday in this hotel was very nice, there are some things to improve. It would be fine if there was an airer /a rack on the balcony so one could dry wet towels and swimsuis - there wasn't any and we had to hang our wet things on the chairs etc. It's allowed to smoke on the balconies so when you're a non-smoker and your neighbour smokes on his balcony, you can smell it in your room as well. We had a marina view room. There are restaurants on this side of the hotel and it was very noisy until late night, in the morning we were woken up before 6:00 every day by workers doing a reconstruction at this side of a hotel or by staff cleaning streets. I believe rooms with sea view are much quieter, so if you have small children, choose these ones, I strongly recommend.

The staff is amazing, rooms are nice

I wanted to share a small concern regarding the breakfast service. I noticed that the staff began clearing the food and cleaning the coffee and tea machines before 10:00. In my experience staying at other hotels, cleaning typically starts after the service ends. I believe it would be more guest-friendly if cleaning began at 10:00 instead, as it can be a bit frustrating for guests to search for a working coffee machine or find food already being removed. I completely understand that this may be more cost-efficient for the hotel, but I think ensuring a seamless experience until the official closing time would be greatly appreciated by guests.

Location, view, spa, swimming pool, room size, cleanliness, and quality, these were all excellent. Modern lighting and setup the type you'd expect at a resort or higher end hotel.

Parking-- totally unclear what and how to park. Unhelpful parking attendant who could have easily said "you need to check in first to register your vehicle", instead he said nothing and left us to figure it out. Front desk- 2 out of 3 were great, one of out of 3 (the youngest one) was cold and had no business being in a client facing role at a front desk. Breakfast-- "ok". Not resort quality and if you are coming from nearby Italy which has a reputation for world class cuisine you will be disappointed.

My overall experience at the hotel was more than satisfactory. I would like to give special praise to the wellness staff, whose kindness and attentiveness made my stay even more special. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the sea view was breathtaking, and the buffet was excellent. The hotel's location is fantastic! My personal highlight was the Finnish sauna with its stunning sea view. I am definitely looking forward to returning.

However, I would like to mention an unfortunate incident. I was on holiday with my cousin and her children when we encountered another guest who, without reason, yelled at the kids at 9 PM, claiming they were too loud. When my cousin reported the incident to the reception, her concerns were quickly dismissed. The explanation given was that there weren’t enough staff available in the evening or that they were too busy with check-outs in the morning to properly address the complaint. I want to emphasize that this hotel is child-friendly, and all guests should be treated equally. It is disappointing that check-outs were prioritized over addressing the distress of young children. While my stay was overall enjoyable, I was disappointed with how this situation was handled by the staff.

This was our fourth stay at Hotel Histrion and everything was perfect again. Nice room, excellent value for money, nice views on the sea side and relaxing time in the indoor pool area. Piran is not far away to have some sea side walks. This time we also tried the room service on arrival and it worked perfectly. There is a new coffee dispenser at the breakfast featuring high quality filtered coffee.

Breakfast time is always very busy because the buffet area is rather narrow. Food quality is medium, there is room for improvement. However as I'm not the big breakfast guy, value for money is absolutely given and I'm fine.

The pools were absolutely amazing, and the location is a clear winner. It's conveniently situated, making it easy to hike to both Piran and Portoroz.

I booked a bed & breakfast stay. At the check-in, I asked for an animation program and received a leaflet, but the other receptionist (not the one assisting us) took it back, saying, "That's for other guests." I could't help but wonder what she meant with that. The breakfast area could be better organized. For instance, finding mustard felt like a detective mission. Additionally, the food selection was quite repetative and lacked creativity, which is disappointing for a 4-star hotel.

This was our third time staying at Hotel Histrion, and it never disappoints! We stayed with our three kids, and it was the perfect family getaway. The rooms were spacious, very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic, offering a great variety of fresh and delicious options that everyone in the family enjoyed. The highlight for us was definitely the amazing pool area—our kids had so much fun, and we appreciated how well-maintained and family-friendly everything was. Hotel Histrion is truly a great place for families, and that’s why we keep coming back. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

The only thing that could be improved is the dinner, as we felt it could have been a bit better.

Its in a good location with several facilities, its kids friendly, the food was good .

There was no minibar, and water cattle boiler in the room, but it was possible to request the water cattle. I thought for a 4 star hotel its the minimum to have these and a coffee machine in the room. Other that this the swimming pool water was really cold, the outdoor pool (which is supposed to be a kids pool) was really cold , my 1 year old kid was not able to enter the water.
