Breakfast was very good

The bathroom lighting was not working, rang reception and the said they would contact maintenance person, an hour later I rang reception to see what was happening, was told they rang but got no answer, they rang again and a person did come to room, couldn't find issue, i rang reception to see what was happening, they sent maintenance person back. 2 1/4 hours later I went to reception and said this was not good enough as we were waiting for a shower to go out for dinner, I then asked for a room change which was granted. But was all about me having to follow up

The location of the hotel is perfect. The good thing is that you have two options to park the car that both are very close to the hotel, and in case you park the car in San Giusto garage, you get the 15% discount coupon at the reception desk which is very convenient. The reception desk staff are very professional and very helpful, they speak italian, english, german and even serbian language so anyone can get the help from them, plus they are super nice. The reception looks really modern and minimalist, which is also nice. There are slippers. There is in room mini-bar, well equipped. The room is clean, and the bathroom as well, and when I say it it is the truth as I am really picky about it. There is hard wooden floor, so no dust and smell from the carpet. I would return to the hotel again. They should add some more toiletteries and the twin or double room should have everything for 2 people (coffee bags, teabags etc) Breakfast was nice, there was almost everything for everyone. The espresso and capuccino were really good.

The rooms are dark for my taste, the walls are painted into dark grey, and that also the small room even smaller. The rooms are pretty small, the regular ones, I do not know if the suites are bigger. The toiletteries are really basic, you have the liquid hand soap and liquid shampoo. There is no hair conditioner, or separate gel douche and no body milk. There is no face towel. You get one towel for shower, and one for hands, and one for bidet. the night tables are too small to fit anything but small cell phone, and are not real night tables. The beds are too soft, as well as the pillows so very uncomfortable and no support for the spine.

I liked the room design, the cleanliness, the friendliness of the staff. They had an excellent breakfast. The location is very close to the city center. Our dog received free goodies which she enjoyed :)

The room in which we stayed had the windows facing the busy road in front of the hotel and it got a bit noisy (nothing that earplugs could not solve). The duvet was strange and uncomfortable; the covers were basically two sheets with the duvet in the middle. The room got a bit too warm and we couldn't control the room temperature.

I needed a good quality hotel at the end of a long (but fabulous) holiday. I changed the B&B I had originally booked and was so glad I did. The staff greeted me warmly and I was able to check in immediately. The hotel is stylish, and comfortable. The room was lovely with plenty of space for me. The breakfast was really good too - lots of options. Check out at 12 was most welcome. Location was great too - close to everything and the sea front.

We got upgraded to a massive room which even though it didn't have a window, it was perfect. The bed was huge and comfy, it was super clean, the shower was nice and so was the shampoo, there was soooo much space and even a velvety sofa, the decor was so cool. No complaints at all. The staff were super nice and helped when we couldn't get the wi-fi to work. The brown haired woman at reception was really lovely. The hotel's restaurant was really nice but the staff there weren't very friendly. The food was pretty good, though, especially the guacamole. We'll stay here again.

Beautiful building in central location

We cannot fault our stay

Everybody was very polite in the hotel. The breakfast was excellent and the room was comfortable and spotless. The hotel is really close to everything you want to see in the city: the sights, restaurants, cafés and shops.

It would have been really nice to have a proper shower cabin. I mean the bathroom was absolutely modern but having a shower without a cabin door made the bathroom a mess. It was also a bit disappointing to have windows looking onto a lichthof.

The hotel is in a great location, just a five-minute walk from Piazza Unità and the Grand Canal. There are many shops, restaurants, and bars nearby. A great advantage is the valet parking, so you don’t have to worry about finding a parking spot. The breakfast was excellent—diverse and delicious. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was very clean and had everything you needed.

Very comfortable hotel with an excellent breakfast and very helpful staff in a terrific central location; especially good value relative to the cost of the room, and I appreciate that I was allowed to stay in the room through 4:30 pm the following day for 1/2 the room charge, which made a huge difference as I had to get some work done. Room also had a very good desk, excellent bathroom with a "rainwater" shower head.

The Modernist is very nicely decorated with photos of famous bands and rock stars from 70s through to the 90s, presumably taken by a local photographer. The location is superb within walking distance of the main attractions and shopping streets. You can unload your car outside the hotel entrance and then have it parked for you in a nearby parking garage and returned to you on your departure. The hotel has its own restaurant, which has an excellent and varied menu with plenty of veggie/vegan options. A very good breakfast is also served in this restaurant. We upgraded at a very reasonable rate to an incredible, spacious room on the 6th floor (the lift only goes to this room on the 6th floor) with an enormous floor-to-ceiling window that looks out over the roofs of Trieste. The staff were at all times friendly, flexible and helpful.
