My wife and I spent 7 nights at Residenza Il Barone, and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to visit Tropea. The room was spacious and clean. We loved the breakfast on the rooftop terrace - the view was beautiful and there was lots of delicious food (we especially loved our morning omelettes and fresh baked croissants). It was a perfect way to start the day. Also, the location was perfect, as we were only a short walk from the beach or any of the amazing restaurants in the area. Another reason we would highly recommend staying here is due to the host - Saverio. Saverio was fantastic and went above and beyond in order to make sure that our stay was as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Even before we left for our trip, he had sent us messages to ensure we knew how to get there ok. He was always offering his help in any way he could, and was very helpful in organizing boat trips for us, as well as our taxi home. He also gave us tons of restaurant recommendations - all of which were delicious! When we eventually return to Tropea, we already know we would book here again.

Everything was amazing!

The spacious room was located in a historical building and had two large French doors and a jacuzzi, with an abundance of natural light. The hotel was very centrally located and convenient. Our host, Saverio was outstanding and made many helpful recommendations. Breakfast was available on an open air roof top terrace which was nice. The bed was very comfortable and shower had great water pressure.

There was a restaurant in the courtyard below which was a bit noisy until 10.30pm. But it is hard to achieve peace and quiet when you are benefitting from such a central location.

Saverio was very friendly, explained the local area and gave us restaurant recommendations. We ate at his family restaurant which was lovely. The room was excellent, hot tub was lovely and everything was very clean. We liked the room and area so much we ended up booking an extra night. Saverio was very responsive over WhatsApp

It wasn’t a problem for us but there is no lift and the stairs to the terrace are steep. Saverio took our cases up and down the stairs.

Particularly loved having the good breakfast on the terrace overlooking the town and the sea. The position was perfect, in the centre of the old town, just a 10min walk from the railway station and then not far from either the beach or harbour. Saverio, our host was always on hand to give us advice or help, including carrying our bags to and from our room on the 2nd floor!

I can really recommend this hotel. It is located almost in the centre of Tropea, despite this position the rooms were quiet.Saverio was really helpful and always in touch with us by whatsupp.The service was great, they kept our room always clean, coming every day from the beach, we appreciated it.It was possible to use the hotel roof terrace anytime.We had a coffee machine in the room, coffee and sparkling/still water everyday was free, small things makes the difference.We ejoyed our stay, Tropea is beautiful place.

Absolutely fantastic location in the heart of the city. Impeccable service and attention to details. Thank you, Saverio, for being so helpful. We were treated to a delightful breakfast on the top of the terrace and enjoyed beautiful view of the town and sea every morning. Very comfortable rooms, clean and big enough, excellent wi-fi and air condition. A big thank to the entire team for making our trip so special. If you are considering a visit to Tropea, then Residentza Il Barone should undoubtedly be at the top of your list.

Perfectly located in the heart of the beautiful old town of Tropea, this accommodation was our most favourite during out 6 week tour of Italy. We had two rooms and both were super clean, spacious and well appointed. The building itself is an old palace situated on a small piazza off the main drag. The children loved the spa and with a stunning beach (one of the best in Italy) only a short walk away, we were spoilt for choice. The breakfast on the roof top terrace has a stunning view and was a highlight. Saverio was a perfect host and provided us with recommendations on where to go and which travel groups to sight-see with. We were very happy with all of his recommendations. We loved Residenza il Barone and can't wait to get back.

We had the best stay at Residenza il Barone, Saverio was the best host, he was very helpful with everything with Tropea. Room was so clean and lovely and breakfast was the best. I would definitely stay there again and recommend this stay. Location was also the best.

Great location, the rooms were spacious and with everything you needed. Breakfast was held on the top floor with views over Tropea, and the ladies were so helpful. Authentic and beautiful guesthouse in the stunning town of Tropea. Saverio is a most helpful host and a wonderful person.
