Walking along ancient stone-paved streets and pushing open a 500-year-old wooden door, we stepped into a world where time seemed to stand still. Behind the weathered walls of Casa Fenoglio lies a haven that is warm, immaculate, and elegantly designed. The three guest rooms are named after iconic characters from the works of Italy’s greatest writers. We stayed in Beatrice, inspired by Dante’s Divine Comedy—and indeed, sleeping in a room that's five centuries old, beneath the famous verse "Lucevan li occhi suoi più che la stella", felt like stepping into history itself. The next morning, the experience was made even more memorable by the hostess’s beautifully prepared and abundant breakfast—a reflection of genuine care and hospitality. Our only regret was that we didn’t have more time. Sitting on the balcony, enjoying the view and chatting with the hostess about Italy’s rich culture and history, would surely have been an enriching experience. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a stay that combines comfort, character, and a deep sense of place.

We had a very warm welcome from Arianna, and excellent communication which was very important as we were arriving by train during a train strike and timings were challenging. It was lovely to stay in a genuine old Italian building that has been sympathetically restored by the owners. As far as breakfast was concerned, nothing was too much trouble - fresh fruits, local breads, and the best coffee we had in Italy! We can't wait to go back to Ventimiglia!

Genuinely nothing!

We were a family of four and stayed in a duplex type room with two double beds, one on mezzanine. It has a good shower with separate toilet behind opaque greenish glass - very cool! The room is spacious with high ceilings and external shutters on the windows, the lower half of which can be propped open to minimise sun but allow for ventilation. This B&B is situated on the second floor of a beautiful old palazzo in the middle of the old town. The stairs are old so just a little care needed in climbing 😊 You enter from the front door into a stylish dining/common area, with couches, tables, books, sound system and art - it's a lovely and cosy vibe. There is a great coffee/tea machine with interesting options, and if you like you can buy beer or a bottle of wine onsite to enjoy on the lovely balcony overlooking the street. I can recommend the wine, it was very well chosen! Arianna was friendly, welcoming, great to communicate and gave us lots of useful information on local restaurants, directions to the best beach etc. We enjoyed the continental-style breakfast with plenty of pastries, yogurt and fruit. Would definitely recommend. And, if you stay here, be sure to visit the Biblioteca Civita Aprosiana a few doors down; it's fascinating.

Everything!! Just a spectacular room with the best water pressure for the shower I’ve had in all my travels( the other room my friend rented had a huge bath). The dining room for breakfast was like a fancy hotel with a balcony to sit on if you wasted to dine outside or just have a glass of wine as we did after dinner. The host even went out of her way to get me gluten free breakfast. She has put so much thought into the interior and gave us the historical references in relationship to the decor. The room was quiet and in the old part of Ventimiglia which is where you want to be. Easy walk into town to go to the big market or go shopping.

Arianna was wonderful to deal with! She was very friendly and in constant communication with us. Upon our arrival we were thrilled to stay in a completely updated, beautiful 500 year old apartment. There was coffee, tea, and water available throughout the day and a comfortable common area to relax. Our room was very spacious with a beautiful bathroom. We travelled with my in laws so we took the bed upstairs and they took the bed downstairs. Plenty of space for the four of us. Breakfast the next morning was delicious! There was a a lovely selection of croissants, pastries, focaccia, yogurt, and fruit. Arianna served us whatever coffee we wanted - cappuccino, americano, espresso. Location was wonderful in the Ventimiglia Alta area. Incredible views with a small village feel. We were sad to be staying only one night!

The bed was a little hard for us.

A little gem in the old historic part of Ventimiglia, welcoming, unique, warm and relaxed atmosphere. Only 3 rooms and the host made us feel special. Super breakfast. Calm and quiet. Just what we needed !

The only negative I can think of were the flights of stairs whilst carrying lots of baggage. But we loved and appreciated the character and age of the property so muscles at the ready!

Fabulous central location. All mod cons. Beautiful rooms. Spacious. Very helpful and friendly host who gave us excellent advice for eating out and making the list of our holiday. Loved the option to have breakfast on the terrace. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. We can’t wait to return!

The feel of old world charm. Lovely touches everywhere. Comfortable bed. Amazing breakfast and hospitality. Though we were surprised by the cavernous ceilings, we came to appreciate the former grandeur of the building. Location made it easy to visit the high points of the city as well as the port. Very good restaurants right in the neighborhood.

The location is fantastic. In the old city, with the most wonderful ambience. When you go through the old entrance you are transported to another place&time. You walk through alley ways and streets with local people. The views to the sea are outstanding and the seafood 👌 the b&b is just wonderful. Adrienne was so welcoming and the breakfast is fabulous. The whole place is delightful, with great rooms and balcony for sipping wine and enjoying watching the local people in the street below.

B & B Casa Fenoglio is a beautiful property in Old Town Ventimiglia. Ariana is a perfect host who has decorated the B&B with lovely antiques and serves an amazing breakfast every morning.
