The very reasonably priced room had a birds eye view of the boardwalk, beach, and ocean… with a balcony too! The listing said sea view, and I took that with a grain of salt. But when I arrived i found it was about as good a sea view as anyone could ask for. It wasn’t just from the balcony itself, but from inside as well since the door and window to the balcony are all glass. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was very good, with staff on hand to make coffee drinks or provide whatever. The hotel itself is well maintained and on the modern side, which I liked. They also rent bicycles, which was great. What a great value!

The room was very narrow, but I was really happy with it regardless. I was traveling solo, so didn’t need much. The bathroom faucet sticks out oddly close to the edge of the sink, so it splashes on the floor when you wash hands. No bid deal, just kind of funny.

The rooms were spacious, the location was right on the seaside and the staff were very kind. Very clean, and the breakfast had a good variety of foods.

Due to a room change, we were told the next morning that because the staff had wrongfully upgraded us, we will have to pay extra (as we had been placed in a room worth more) - however, nothing was said to us prior to the next morning.

The staff are all lovely, very polite, friendly. Excellent location, the beachfront was just across the road. The room was very clean. Clean towels every day if required.

We asked for a seaview but didnt realise that the sea was accross from a busy street so a little noisy if you had door open. The room is small but it wasnt really a problem for us as you dont spend much time in the room.

Average hotel, price-quality ratio is fine. Located on the boulevard with various restaurants within easy reach. Breakfast is decent with cappuccino prepared by the bartender and delicious cream croissants.

We had booked this hotel for the sea view. However, the window was high, so you couldn't see the sea from the room (bed). Also, there were no table/chairs on the balcony. In short, yes, when you step onto the balcony, you see the sea. But don't expect (for example) balcony where you can sit with a bottle of wine to enjoy the view. Furthermore, the toilet had the smell of old urine.

This was a great stay. One of my best 3 Star in Italy. The staff so really nice and I was able to even store my bicycle save on the balcony ☺️ Room has been very nice with balcony and sea view. And most importantly in Italy they do not have those thin walls where you can hear every single word of your neighbours. It’s directly at the Main Street but windows are very isolated. But anyway k always carry oropax with me. Breakfast was also good. Ebene for vegans. They had home made banana cake 👍 I will return one day

I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay during my first time in Viareggio. All members of staff were great and very friendly. The balcony and seaview were amazing. The location 20 minutes walk from the train station is ideal, and the supermarket is just a 5 minutes walk away. Plenty of restaurants right across the street on the promenade. Will stay here again!

Two small things to mention. One, some things in the hotel and room look a bit tired and need updating, but that's merely cosmetic. And two, the very strange breakfast buffet system. It baffled nearly every guest on their first day. You are not allowed to take anything from the buffet yourself. You have to point at the items you want, and the staff will put them on plates, and carry them to your table. It felt strange every single day for 6 days. I can understand that you want to limit what people take from the buffet, but I can carry the stuff to the table myself. And if all staff were busy there was considerable waiting until someone was free to assist. Definitely room for improvement!

Hotel was perfect for our stay. All staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. Breakfast was good, one of our party was coeliac and this was catered for very well. Ideal location for beach, restaurants and shops. Rail station not too far away for day trips to Lucca and Pisa. Would highly recommend a stay at Hotel San Francisco.

Wow, location amazing. Sea front hotel.Clean and comfortable. Amazing self serve breakfast. With the best pastries we have ever had. Catered for one member of our group gluten free.The staff were brilliant, kind and friendly. Booking us restaurants and taxis when we needed them. They work so hard, to make you feel special. We will be back, this is rare for us. As we never usually return. As like to try different hotels.

Nothing, everything was perfect

Great location right by the sea in Viareggio, my room was very comfortable and I had a balcony with a lovely sea view. I was only staying for one night, it was very enjoyable though and the breakfast being included was a nice touch. The staff were all lovely, especially Davide who welcomed me on arrival. I would recommend it for a short stay in Viareggio. 😊

It was all great!

This friendly hotel is the perfect place to relax and explore all that Viareggio has to offer. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff are kind, helpful and efficient. I was so comfortable that I extended my stay. The hotel location is roughly mid-promenade with many eateries close by, easy access to the beach and a wooded park only two blocks away.

There is nothing I did not like about my stay.
